Senate Progression

Ayumi Pallopides

Heir to the Emperor, Former Senator of Denon
And here is the first stage of the senate reforms. There are the guidelines created by the faction admins and we announced there would be a new system in place with elections, benefits to being active in non senate threads, being diplomatic, helping out. Those activities will increase your standing and help you go forward. To do that there are now three ranks within the senate. Much like the Padawan-Knight-Master system of the jedi the Republic's politician's will fall within three ranks.

Representative: The first step and the beginning of your career. Fresh faced with usually a lot of energy and underutilized. If you have a planet with an active senator you would treat it as a master/padawan type deal with "training" threads to progress your diplomatic, negotiating and interpersonal skills.

Junior senator: A mid level who has worked but has more standing on their home planet. Able to serve and attend most meeting with their senator and even offer input when prompted but they are not an elected official.

Senator: After an election by the faction as a whole you have earned your place in the senate and are involved in more decisions within the group. Able to meet more officially with the Chancellor if need be or attend meetings unsupervised.

These are the three new ranks within the senate and what we shall be using to complete the reforms so that those who want to will be able to get it active. enjoy and as always if there are any questions.

@[member="Aliannah S. del D. Filia"] if a senator was made before the new rules they are still a senator. It is only with this post. Though we still encourage activity and for you to build up your support base.

@[member="Persephone Callas"] there was no job for senators to do the senate just now reopened after being shut down.

but yes a conflict of interest and your welcome to be the senator of Hapes again. They helped arm the Watts class with weapons

And what of planets that have active leadership ICly? Seems to me it is not the Senate that elects Senators, but the planets themselves. Kuat has already established ICly that the reigning High Council holds the power to do this, and I as Sovereign hold the final say.

Naturally my current senator @[member="Alena Beswin"] was elected to the position in this manner, and her predecessor @[member="Devra Winji"] as well. Darren Brunswick was fired from this position by yours truly for his very poor performance.

I mean not to muddle with the new ranking system for the Senate. I actually find this very unique and I think it will work well. I also understand that the good majority of Republic planets do not have current active leadership. I'm simply a stickler for working with IC parameters that have been set by story.

@[member="Lady Silencia"] most elections are going to function like votes for bills. Where the voter is an npc from said planet. In the case of Kuat we might take it back to the some discussion but it can add to their reputation and experience. Getting not just the vote but also the high council's. These are in their infancy and well are subject to change or improve.
