The Seeker Scout Shuttle is Starchaser Enterprises is the advanced entry to the exploration market. Following the success of the Albatross Corvette and the Pathfinder frigate, the minds at Starchaser Enterprises have created the Longbow scout shuttle. Able to fulfill a multitude of roles from its primary focus of exploration craft, to mobile operations base, courier vessel, humanitarian ship, and combat search and rescue vessel, the Longbow is a general companion to the Pathfinder but in a miniature version.
Due to the nature of space exploration, and the goals of Starchaser Enterprises to not put the right equipment in the wrong hands, the Seeker Shuttle is offered in two trim levels that determine the base of the ship.
The Premium Level includes the addition of a stygium based cloaking device and the Hyperwave Inertial Momentum Sustainer (HIMS) system to allow the pilot and/or team to move fairly swiftly around space in the relative comfort of not being found. This allows for the teams to do their job without being interrupted by outside forces. Its designed primarily for scientific types.
The Standard Level provides a sip that is capable of doing mapping and exploration, with a focus on being a scout ship for other vessels and a team of explorers. It can also serve as a scout ship, however does lack the slippery capability of the premium level.
Forgoing the use of conventional weapons, save for the energy torpedo generator (to save on fuel), the Longbow does not make a focus on combat and even its offensive capabilities are limited to disabling another vessel, either by the use of the Attack Terminal to cause electronic warfare, or to disable vessels with the ion cannon.
Like other Starchaser vessels, this ship is designed to be a navigator’s dream with advanced systems and monitoring equipment. However, the Seeker also includes an advanced Trailblazing System for use in Outer Rim and Wild Space pilots. The Trailblazing system calculates jumps with all known data, from a number of sources, including Baobab maps, Jedi ExplorCorps data uploads, Levantine Sanctum pilots, and other prospectors. The challenge with the trailblazing system is that it must be updated at a station or a Pathfinder Exploration Frigate’s mainframe.
This will do its best to incorporate all known anomalies to best predict a safe path. Additionally, the Trailblaze System does come with a governor that will revert the ship to real space under mild gravitational distress, as it will shut down the HIMS system on the vessel. Pilots are able to turn off the HIM system however the results can be catastrophic.
