Public Secrets of Onderon

ONDERON
Onderon

Deep Jungle | Humid | Midday

Dxun hung over the daytime sky. Shinma stood deep in the jungles of Onderon - far from the safety of capital city of Iziz. The creatures of the wild screeched and hollered all around. The call of cicada-like creatures could not be ignored.

Were Shinma not covered head-to-toe, the Sith would likely be pestered and feasted on by blood sucking insects.

Shinma approached what looked like the entrance to a temple long forgotten. It was something the jungle had reclaimed some untold years in the past. Onderon, having been the homeworld of an ancient Dark Lord of the Sith, shared many secrets. Freedon Nadd's tomb buried under Iziz was far from the only ancient secret the planet carried.

"This better be worth it," Shinma muttered - not caring for anyone listening.

The journey to this place carried many dangers and challenges. Not only did this long lost temple sit deep within a jungle hostile to civilized life, but Mandalorians had an interest in keeping Sith off the planet. Shinma could not simply just waltz into Iziz and very loudly asked for a guide to this part of the jungle.

Approaching the sealed temple door, Shinma examined it. Fingers traced over carvings in ancient script. Then, Shinma procured a dagger-like steel object from a pouch on the Sith's belt. It bore the same kinds of markings as the door.

A slot on the center of the door hinted at its purpose.

The teenager was with Shinam,he clothes offerinf more protection aggainst the insects than the ones ocvering the older Sith. "An dagger who is a key, that's apparently very cliché from the Siths of old no?" He comments wit amusement as he study the door and wait Shinma open it

"I imagine how many traps we gonna find inside." He looks back the way they make and use the Force to feel if someone is following them, right hand holding his light saber ready to turn it on in case of an ambush or an trap. The fingers on his left and move in antecipation and like testing them selvs to use Sorcery if the situation calls for it.

A deadlier breed of creature stalked the shaded canopies of Onderon today.

Like a Banshee Bird on the hunt, Leo perched amongst the dense treetops, concealing his force presence from his prey as well he could. The figures moving beneath him seemed to be doing much the same, and yet they had done little to conceal their physical tracks, painting him a trail that carved straight through the thick jungle and led directly to his goal.

Alongside his ancient saber, Avrok has also parted with a partially corrupted holocron that had originally served to archive places of spiritual importance to the Sith in times long past. After a few days of breaking the encryption and a few days further of salvaging the usable data, Leo had found himself on a break from his gorilla-crusade destabilising the Sith from within, speeding off in the direction of Onderon.

It hadn't taken him long to pick up a trail after touching down in one of the rather sparse clearings of the jungle planet. After a day of preparation and planning he had set out on a course to discover the ancient secrets of whatever Sith lord had made this planet his tomb (the name had been unrecoverable from the holocron). The native animal thoroughfares had given way to human tracks the nearer he seemed to get to his destination and at once he knew he was not alone in his search. Taking to the trees, his trek would prove much slower as he made considerably more effort to remain a silent shadow, slipping through the leaves, ensuring that all but the most seasoned hunters would never know he was meters above them, poised to strike.

It was upon reaching the temple, its ancient doors in sight, that he finally saw those whose trail he'd been tracking. Sith, by the looks of them, but then again he could have been mistaken. Afterall, with the way that Leo dressed, coupled with crimson glow of his own saber when it was drawn, anyone could be forgiven for mistaking him for a Sith. Perhaps these two were just budding archaeologists, spelunking for lost secrets in ancient temples.

Regardless of their allegiances, Leo was content to remain in the shadows of the trees, hidden and observant of their next move. Perhaps these two might just do all the work for him…

The Shattered Sword had been out in the galaxy since his release from a Jedi prison. He hadn't looked back, but the work still continued, the endless fight against the Sith. His focus was turning the tide slowly, surely.

His next piece of intel led him to Onderon in search of a kid who had fallen victim to the warlord ideologies of the Sith in the Core. This young noble Sith had all the potential in the galaxy and could still be turned for the better; Lorn just had to get to him.

After days of following the pair that the kid found himself in, Lorn stalked close by in the humid wilderness of Onderon. A tomb lurked ahead. Lorn kept himself hidden in the shadows, yet didn't obscure his presence in the Force. The dark side that radiated from the tomb and the Sith rune on the side of his face obscured all he needed to.

For now, he simply watched and waited. He would venture inside if the pair themselves went in.

Shinma turned head toward Dante Gwyn Dante Gwyn after the young Sith's comment.

"Remind me again why I even let you follow," Shinma said to Dante with a hint of annoyance in the Sith's heavily distorted and filtered voice.

Then, Shinma turned back toward the ancient door. Shinma inserted the dagger into the slot and turn.

CLUNK CLUNK HISSSSssssss

Mechanisms activated. Audible. Loud. Even the stalking Leo Vandermolen Leo Vandermolen and Lorn Reingard Lorn Reingard could hear gears turning from their positions.

The door parted before Dante and Shinma. Stale air poured out from this long lost temple - or maybe even a tomb. Darkness awaited the two Sith - past the doorway that was now open.

"Traps may be the least dangerous of hazards within," Shinma warned Dante.

Then, Shinma walked into the jungle temple - into the darkness without pulling out any form of light. The antechamber of the temple would feature frescoes and carvings of wars long ago, and script in an ancient language.

"Because I'm the last dangerous Sith apprentice for you, yor words not mine, and because how yo put it again? I'm an nerd who read a lot so I can be help with trnaslations of ancient Sith write and hierogliphs" He smirks "In other words you know I'm more interested in survive my first archeological expedition than stab you in the back, since I'm yon and have more to learn abot the expeditition than stabing you and risking take the glory"

Dante walked with Shinma, already using the Force the sta aware of any danger as his ees move and he looks at thhe ancient language "Talking about ancient Sith, who ou said this ancient tomb Sith Lord owner?" He says now serious reading the words, he walk with caution, watching his steps and he don't touch anything for now, his right hand hhold his lightsbaer blade off just in case he need it.
