Faction Saying Hello | New Sith Order

"You know one of these Sith set you on fire once."

A distant memory, but one there all the same. Alina stepped through the snow covered world, a faint smile on her face as always. It'd been whispers on the wind, the return of Darth Solipsis Darth Solipsis . At one point she'd served him as an apprentice, before she'd chosen to fight for the Sith Empire against him. Against Maestus Maestus . She'd given everything to the Sith Empire, including her own life, but no more. She'd gotten what she wanted from Dromund Kaas.

Her loyalty was only to herself, and the woman standing beside her.

"Here's hoping they don't do that again, mm?"

Why? Again...She stood on yet another snow covered world. Had she unknowingly turned into more of a masochist through the years? Obviously, what other answer was there, now that she was back in the snow. Somewhere, in the recesses of her mind, the seed of an idea took root. What if there weren't anymore snowy worlds?

Regardless, here she was. Her shuttle was nearby, ramp down. A small group of minions were busy near the shuttle, surrounded by containers of various sizes and shapes. The only real unique characteristic of the containers, they were 2 of each shape and size, matching sets.

Some of the containers were see thru. Some were empty, while others contained a pale green liquid. Within the goo were held pairs of a few small species. Rodents of varying kinds. Maestus was sitting on a hoversled, head bent as she studied two datapads in her lap.

Absently, she reached for one of her Lekku. It had begun to twitch. Gently at first, and continued to grow. Few minutes later, a slow shiver started at the base of her spine. Softly, delicately it began. Taping the nerves radiating from her spine, the Force conducted a brilliant symphony as the shivering moved up her entire spine and settled at the base of her skull.

She closed her eyes, the sensation known to her. Someone approached. Whomever they were, they bathed in the Dark Side. Maestus felt that easily, even at this distance. This signature, this Force presence was not unknown to the Twi'lek. One corner of her mouth curled into a wicked smirk.

This was rather intriguing. Maestus thought back, decades, since she'd last seen the Sangir. She had to laugh, they were on another frozen planet then, too. Ironic that the Sith born of lava and fire manages to find herself on chunks of ice so very often.

She sat the datapads aside on the hoversled, then placed her hands back and leaned back to wait. Maestus looked somewhat like she always had. Crimson skin heavily adorned with black runic tattoos, more than she'd had at their last meeting. Upon closer inspection, deep, fine cracks splintered across her throat. Threatening to spread further until the full depth of her dancing in the Dark is seen by all. Her clothing was much the same, with one noticeable difference. Her robes of yesteryear had been more form over function. Younger Maestus preferred to maintain a certain persona. Did she ride Darth Solipsis Darth Solipsis coattail back then? Absolutely. He was, after all, a tool with a function. To teach her. Being the good student, she used that tool and learned from the best how to manipulate and coerce even the most rigid of wills. She knew she had no authority in her own right then. But as the student of the Dark Voice? Problem solved.

Maestus now dressed in her trademark black fabric robe and pants, with deep crimson stitching. No insignia, name, her clothing was plain, and made of a rugged durable material. She'd matured and grown over the years in more ways than one. Before long, she'd abandoned her need for the approval of others, and her choice of clothing reflected that.

She scooted forwards on the hoversled, letting her legs dangle. She was highly intrigued as to what brought Alina here? And who was with her? Maestus felt another with Alina, though unknown. She glanced to the minions doing their science. The best money could buy, that brought a snarky laugh from herself. With a sigh, she shook her head, and waited.

A fire would be nice right now. Quinn thought silently as she reminisced with Alina. That memory specifically felt so long ago. Fingers thumbed against the rubied broach, clipping her cloak around her shoulders. She nodded and chuckled softly at the woman's words. "I hope that the only fire we come across is one to keep us warm," Her head tilted from side to side, musing over the thought. "Not trying to kill us."

She had been nervous. Hearing of Solipsis's return worried her; despite being a rumor - there had to be an ounce of truth buried there. Looking at Alina, she continued to smile as the silence around them cracked under the shifting snow.

"Any particular reason we're here?" She questioned. Quinn looked away quickly; something in the force seethed with dark energy. Something she had felt before but couldn't put her finger on it. It wasn't often that the Dark Side made the Echani woman flinch, but this essence was bathed in the purest form of the dark side.

"I don't think we're alone."

"That would be fortunate, wouldn't it?" Alina snickered just a little. She no longer felt cold, but even this chill gave her some shivers. It wasn't the cold, though. It was the Dark. The Sith really were gathering here, weren't they? "The Sith Order played their part. I've already died once for them, and the loyalty they preach is nothing but a lie. I'm done playing that part. Asides, Lord Scolipsis returned from death. Aren't you curious how he pulled that off?"

She paused, then glanced up ahead with a smirk this time around. Her eyes zeroed in on the figure through the snow.

"Well, speaking of fire. Maestus. How have you been?"

As the pair approached, Maestus watched curiously. Her curiosity had gotten her in trouble before, what's one more time?

Alina, it's been a while, hasn't it?

She nodded to Quinn Varanin Quinn Varanin slightly. Now that the duo was closer, she could study their faces more clearly. Of particular interest were Quinn's eyes. Often named the "Windows of the Soul", they were peculiarly intriguing to the Twi'lek. Probably for nefarious reasons.
