ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • SIngular Purpose: The Savant class MG-BDT2 is perhaps not the multifunctional variety as its sistership the MG-BDT1 , but in what single purpose it has, it excells.
  • Highly Automated: With purposely automated navigation controls, a automated targeting systems and various automations for its more menial tasks, this shipis quite easy to use and understand and because it still relies on the use of an operational crew it also avoids the glaring weakness which comes with full automization.
  • High Payload: Though it doesn't carry much in terms of torpedoes, it can be outfitted with all kinds of bombs to be dropped on unsuspecting targets thanks to the opening baydoors at the underbelly of the ship. Thanks to a relatively oversquare interior loading bay, there is plenty of room for any sort of bombs or additional torpedoes beyond the ones it already carries in its two tubes.
WEAKNESSES
  • Small Squadrons: Despite being listed as mass produced, it is still a rather costly ship with a long building time, as such it is through Nargath Holdings that potential customers are adviced to keep the number of ships to form a single squadron on the lower end of the spectrum in terms of numbers.
  • Almost redundant hyperdrive: As this ship isn't expected to operate far off a base, a hangar or simply a capital ship, it is only outfitted with the bare minimum in terms of hyperdrive technology, making it so that pilots and crew of the Savant Class are never really expected to use the hyperdrive outside of possible emergency situations.
DESCRIPTION
Next to the already designed and produced Savant class MG-BDT1 which already boasted alot of cargo holding capacity, management at Nargath Holdings decided to use the same hull and frame and swap out the heavy laser cannon placements in favor of torpedo launchers to construct their first single purpose bomber. An improvement in comparison to the MG-BDT1 is the fact that due to its precarious nature as a bomber, it in stead of a low energy shield generator, was outfitted with a standard issue shield generator, to better protect it during bombing runs. Despite this though, the MG-BDT2 carries the same low capacity hyperdrive, limiting most of its actions primarily around established bases or carrying capital ships.

Two pounds shy of a bomb.

Only real problem with this sub that moderate is not a valid rating. The armament count seems exceptionally high for the rating, but it is generally assumed that these would be at an inferior quality than normal in such instances, so that isn't a huge issue.
