STRENGTHS
- Multi Purpose: The MP-BTD1 is capable of filling several roles. It can be used as a small, heavily armed troop transport and gunship, an bomber for both atmospheric and space conditions and situations and a simply well armed goods or equipment transport.
- Highly Automated: With purposely automated navigation controls, a automated targeting systems and various automations for its more menial tasks, this shipis quite easy to use and understand and because it still relies on the use of an operational crew it also avoids the glaring weakness which comes with full automization.
- High Payload: Though it doesn't carry much in terms of torpedoes, it can be outfitted with all kinds of bombs to be dropped on unsuspecting targets thanks to the opening baydoors at the underbelly of the ship. Thanks to a relatively oversquare interior loading bay, there is plenty of room for a variety of choices ranging from bombs, to troops and equipment or simply goods or raw material.
- Not exactly well defended: While it's buildquality and physical defenses aren't that bad, the lack of a standard shield generator and in stead relying on a low energy shield generator means that a few potshots from a small craft can already take out the shield and leave the ship vulnerable to enemy fire.
- Almost redundant hyperdrive: As this ship isn't expected to operate far off a base, a hangar or simply a capital ship, it is only outfitted with the bare minimum in terms of hyperdrive technology, making it so that pilots and crew of the Savant Class are never really expected to use the hyperdrive outside of possible emergency situations.
A clear cut and simple addition to the field of Multipurpose support ships in the lineup of Nargath Holdings, the Savant Class MP-BTD1 was designed on the notion that unlike the Adamant Class , there is still a use for a more well armed variety. Though it became clear that to keep the same simple and useful specifications as the aforementioned other support ship within the range, there had to be some concessions in regards to speed and mobility, the Savant Class turned out to be quite an allrounder that rightfully earned its place within the lineup of the company. Decked out with a variety of standard, open market weaponry, a sizeable cargohold and useful, but not fullautomization, this jack of all trades is to be considered a bullseye within its pricerange and usage.
