STRENGTHS
  • Versatile: Built off the robust design of the Legionnaire Mark III Combat Armor, the Saaraishash Purification armor was designed to operate in practically every environment across the known galaxy. Likewise, the armor could be modified to be worn by a wide range of Human and non-Human phenotypes, including a multitude of Alien physiques.
  • Beskar Durability: Unlike the armor worn by the Imperial Legion, the Saaraishash Purification armor's plating was crafted out of Mandalorian Iron (also known as Beskar). This material was durable enough to withstand a direct blaster bolt and could also withstand the glancing or slashing blow from a lightsaber, though could be penetrated with a direct stab.
  • Electronically Sealed: To prevent armor from being unlawfully scavenged off of battlefields, the Sith Empire has designed the Purification armor to be electronically sealed once a Saaraishash Legionnaire has suited up. This is accomplished via specially trained officers known as Quartermasters, who hold the technology required to lock and unlock a Saaraishash Legionnaire's armor inside specially crafted cybernetics. The Empire has also fostered a sense of self-maintenance in its Saaraishash Legionnaires, with each soldier owning their own suit of armor and charged with its upkeep. Thus each individual suit of armor is biometrically linked to one Saaraishash Legionnaire at a time, and cannot be interchangeably worn.
WEAKNESSES
  • Close-Proximity EMPs: The Purification armor is protected at a distance from most electromagnetic pulses that could arise from ion grenades and other explosive munitions, but several direct hits to the armor or a close-proximity blast can knock out a majority of the internal and external electronics. However, the helmet has received the greatest degree of electronic protection than any other part of the armor and can take far more ionic punishment before being disabled than the rest of the suit.
  • Heavy: Substituting Mandalorian Iron in the place of duraplast or betaplast about tripled the weight of the armor, which was a considerable strain on the individual wearing it in most situations. Enhancements inside of the armor helped mitigate the difficulty in moving in such armor, but only by a degree.
  • Thermal Gel Safeguard: The Purification armor while great for taking impacts it cannot revert back to its aqueous state. This is to say the thermal gel liner is unable to revert back to its aqueous state, minor to massive impacts on a wearer's mobility will result in the wearer taking more kinetic hits.
DESCRIPTION

When the Empire conquered and occupied Mandalore, they did so primarily to exploit the planet's rich reserves of beskar. Vast tracts of land were uprooted and broken, churned up by city-sized machines that harvested vast quantities of beskar and transported them to refineries strewn across the ravaged planet. There, they were refined and turned into ingots imprinted with the symbol of the Sith Empire. After that, the ingots were loaded up onto cargo ships and distributed across the Empire under heavy guard.

The Saaraishash requisitioned a large quantity of Imperial-smithed beskar for their own purposes, recasting it into armor and weapons for their most skilled soldiers. Thus was born the Purification Trooper, a member of the Saaraishash whose sole duty was the tracking and elimination of Jedi and errant Sith in the name of the Sith Emperor.

To aid in their charge, each Purification Trooper was gifted a suit of beskar armor that could protect them against the fabled weapon of the Jedi. The armor itself was colored dark gray, and the symbol of the Dark Side was emblazoned across both their right and left shoulders. It could be modified to fit any number of Human and non-Human physiques, and was capable of being used in the vacuum of space as well as deep underwater.
