  • Active tint, anti-glare, defogging, de-icing, HUD opacity control, low-profile personal diagnostics, and adjustable lens coloration.

STRENGTHS
  • Pocket Command Lens: The Rulariyi Mk II gives a Mandalorian much of their familiar helmet HUD, comms, sensor, diagnostic, IFF, and tactical interface environment without needing to wear a helmet.
  • Beskadetr Lenses: The smart-laminate lenses are far tougher than ordinary sunglasses or basic plexalloy shades, while supporting HUD projection, active tinting, anti-glare, defogging, de-icing, and sensor-linked opacity functions.
  • Tactical Command Interface: The glasses can organize armor, droid, ship, comm, and sensor feeds into a clean tactical display, allowing the wearer to monitor linked assets, check diagnostics, review feeds, and issue limited commands to authorized systems.
  • Temiye Ansible Link: The retained Temiye Ansible Communications System gives the sunglasses secure long-range communications and data-transfer capability beyond ordinary comlinks, especially when communicating with compatible Temiye-equipped systems.
  • Secure Mandalorian Comms: Rotating encrypted frequencies, signal cleaning, IFF management, emergency beacon functions, and frequency-kill protocols make the glasses useful for rescue, command, covert coordination, and battlefield communication.
  • Wireless Slicing Assistance: SOAR Lite, Howl_Runner.exe, Shroud-derived firmware, and the Counter-Slicing Black Core derivative can assist with wireless intrusion attempts, signal tracing, encryption probing, spoofing, target identification, and counter-slicing when a viable signal or link exists.
  • Tracking and Identification: Howl_Runner.exe's reduced tracking client allows the glasses to compare faces, features, biometrics, contract alerts, known databases, and wireless traces to help identify persons of interest or locate relevant intel.
  • Mental Interference Protection: Like the original Rulariyi model, the trakar and Vong-treated frame materials help interfere with many mental Force intrusions and can make illusion-based deception easier to notice.
  • Low-Profile Utility: The glasses are subtle, wearable in civilian or social settings, and allow a Mandalorian to retain command and situational awareness without appearing fully armored.

WEAKNESSES
  • Still Sunglasses: They can be knocked off, stolen, broken at the hinges, crushed underfoot, or lost far more easily than a sealed helmet or integrated armor system.
  • Not a Helmet: The Rulariyi Mk II does not protect the skull, seal the face, provide life support, filter toxins, protect against vacuum, stop shrapnel across the whole head, or replace full beskar'gam systems.
  • Wireless-Only Slicing: The sunglasses have no physical scomp link, data spike, slicer key, hardline jack, or terminal plug. SOAR Lite, Howl_Runner.exe, Shroud-derived firmware, and the Counter-Slicing Black Core derivative all require a wireless signal, authorized pairing, compromised access point, intercepted transmission, infected link, or externally provided data before they can function. Air-gapped, shielded, jammed, encrypted, hardened, or physically isolated systems may be completely unreachable.
  • Reduced Software Footprint: These are compact derivative versions of larger programs and countermeasure suites. They are excellent for assistance, diagnostics, tracking, wireless interfacing, and defensive cyberwarfare, but they lack the processing power, hardline access, and brute-force capacity of dedicated slicing rigs, droid brains, shipboard computers, or full-scale ECM systems.
  • Small Power Budget: Active jamming, high-intensity scanning, holo-projection, constant wireless probing, and linked-system command functions are limited by tiny onboard reserves unless the glasses are paired with armor, a larger host system, or an external power source.
  • Ion and EMP Vulnerability: The frame and lenses are sturdy, but the smart layers, HUD, comms, firmware, wireless systems, and circuitry can still fail from ion damage, EMP, power loss, slicing, or broken electronics. There is still no room for proper deionizers.
  • Comms Are Not Untouchable: The Temiye system is difficult to intercept or jam in transit, but the sunglasses themselves, paired receiving systems, relays, connected computers, or compromised endpoints can still be sliced, disabled, spoofed, monitored, or physically damaged.
  • Authorized Systems Only: The glasses can smoothly interface with paired or authorized systems, but they do not automatically override hostile networks, ships, droids, weapons, or security grids.
  • Howl_Runner.exe Limits: Howl_Runner.exe's recognition and tracking functions depend on available data. Unknown targets, false identities, scrambled records, altered biometrics, poor sensor input, or isolated networks can leave the software with little to work from.
  • Counter-Slicing Is Not Immunity: The Black Core and Shroud-derived routines can detect, quarantine, and sever compromised links, but skilled slicers, hostile AIs, malware, spoofed access points, or compromised paired devices can still threaten the glasses or any linked systems.
  • Force-User Drawback: As with the original Rulariyi model, the anti-Force materials can make it harder for Force-sensitive Mandalorians to focus on Manda/Force abilities and can interfere with sight- or mind-based powers.
  • Beskadetr Limits: The lenses are not solid beskar. Edges, seals, frames, hinges, microfractures, sonic resonance, disruptors, repeated heavy impacts, and focused kinetic trauma remain serious vulnerabilities.
  • Training Required: The amount of information the glasses can display may overwhelm untrained users. Combat use, slicing assistance, command-link control, and multi-feed management require practice.

DESCRIPTION

The Rulariyi Mandalorian Sunglasses Mk II are an updated command-lens variant of the original Rulariyi design. The first model was created for Mandalorians who wanted access to a familiar HUD, comms, optics, translation, and anti-Force protection without wearing a full helmet. The Mk II keeps that core identity intact, but modernizes the platform with Beskadetr Transparent Armor Composite lenses, improved Maji Ironworks interface systems, and a carefully limited wireless command-link suite.

Physically, the Mk II remains a pair of armored Mandalorian sunglasses rather than a helmet substitute. The frame is forged from ve'vut beskar and trakar, case-hardened with Vong bonemeal, and fitted with miriskin leather comfort padding around the nose and ears. The old plexalloy lenses have been replaced by thin Beskadetr smart-laminate lenses, allowing the glasses to support active tinting, HUD projection, sensor overlays, anti-glare functions, defogging, de-icing, and opacity control while remaining far stronger than ordinary eyewear. Even so, the glasses are still vulnerable at the hinges, edges, seals, and frame mounts, and the lenses are not equivalent to uninterrupted solid beskar armor.

The onboard systems build on the original Rulariyi feature set rather than replacing it. The M.I. Universal Heads-Up Display, Temiye Ansible Communications System, Enhanced Optics Suite, Polarizing Visor functions, Electronic Translator set to Mando'a, Holo-imager, and anti-Force frame materials all remain part of the Mk II. The newer systems add a micronized M.I. Rotating Communications System, limited Scan-Jam functions, active Beskadetr smart-lens support, and carefully reduced software derivatives designed for command-link, tracking, and wireless cyberwarfare support.

In practice, the glasses are best used as a personal command lens: checking diagnostics, receiving sensor feeds, reviewing linked camera perspectives, issuing limited commands to authorized systems, and staying connected when a helmet would be socially inconvenient or tactically undesirable. They can wirelessly pair with authorized armor, helmets, droids, Basilisk war droids, vehicles, ships, and other compatible devices, but they do not automatically override hostile systems.

The Mk II's slicing and cyberwarfare functions are intentionally limited. SOAR Lite, Howl_Runner.exe, Shroud-derived firmware, and the Counter-Slicing Black Core derivative can assist with wireless signal analysis, intrusion mapping, encryption probing, spoofing, wireless tracing, biometric identification, counter-slicing, and hostile-link quarantine. However, the glasses have no physical interface key, data spike, scomp link, or hardline terminal jack. If a target system is air-gapped, shielded, jammed, encrypted beyond the user's ability, or physically isolated from wireless access, the Rulariyi Mk II cannot simply force its way in. These systems are aides to a capable wearer, not replacements for dedicated slicing rigs or shipboard cyberwarfare suites.

As with the original Rulariyi model, the anti-Force materials in the frame are meant to interfere with mental Force intrusions, illusion-based deception, and some mind- or sight-based effects targeting the wearer. This can backfire for Force-sensitive Mandalorians, making it harder to focus on their own Manda/Force abilities and preventing or distorting certain sight-based powers. The Mk II therefore excels as a low-profile Mandalorian command, tracking, and communications accessory, but it remains balanced by its eyewear form factor, limited power reserves, wireless-only access, ion/EMP vulnerability, and dependence on user skill.
