Alexandra Feanor

The Lady in Silver/Grey Historian
Swanea_by_StandAlone_Complex.jpg

Alexandra breathed in as she walked into the ring,her hand held over her eyes because of the change in light and it hit her like a brick. The sound was unending, so many voices and she only smiled at this before double checking her connection to the force, severed just like she had though it had been by the creatures around the ring that would stop her. She didnt need it though, no her own blade work would prove itself in this fight and that is when she continued to the middle of the ring where she would wait for her opponent to make his way there and while she did she double checked her weaponry. Two curved hilt lightsabers and a echani war staff, collapsible to make it easier to move and carry and not restrict her movement. The Curved hilt sabers would make makashi much more effective if she needed it though she knew shi cho and niman would not be a problem for her to need to use in the absence of the force.

And if she lost her weapons than it would be no detriment, as she quickly went through her memories of her echani training and flexed her fingers as she took a look around the ring. It was a wide one, that was good, with a number of trees and large rocks that could be used to weave through and use to make things difficult for her opponent, but without the force she would be unable to use the trees to their full use so that limited her. Her next thought came on whether the man would come in armor or in the same type of dress as she was, she would assume the latter as it provided much more use than a suit would in this situation.

With that her silver eyes found their way to the other side of the center of the large combat ring, her hand closing around one of her sabers for now though it would remain inactivated as she stood there, her eyes running over the stones and trees that she stood among. Her hair was pulled back and tied to keep out of her face and out of hand, her body calm and relaxed as she breathed in the air, its heat lessened in the shade she stood in.

@Navio

A humanoid mass swaggered through the other side of the arena, covered in what appeared to be white, brown and black ceremonial garb. A matching hood was present upon the individual that seemed to cover the majority of his facial features. Despite his tall elegant appearance, an evident brick house physique seemed to protrude from the garb with toned muscles bulging. He slowly removed his hood as he entered center stage.

Long flowing hair poured from the confines of the hood as it was removed; freedom. Navio's face was handsome and prominent with long pointed ears and a distinct tattoo plastered on his forehead. He stood at an impressive 6'2" in height and boasted a much large physique then that of his opponent. Strapped across his back was a rather large and hefty blade, very similar to his own except less lethal due to the nature of the tournament.

Navio scanned the general vicinity, blocking out the overwhelming cheers from the audience. He took note of the various obstacles that could be of potential use to him or his opponent. Then he let out a long winded sigh. His posture positioned itself accordingly as he faced his opponent, a slight discomfort overwhelming him momentarily. The fact that he wasn't wearing his signature beskar'gam made him feel naked and exposed. This feeling however soon passed and his mind focused itself towards the battle soon to come.

He reached behind his back and drew the long 1.55 blade, grasping it with both hands. His overwhelming strength seemed proficient enough to wield the blade with ease, a clear indication of his physical prowess. Navio waited for the crowd to die down for a moment before extending his deep, stern voice outwards towards his opponent [member="Alexandra Cinthra"].

"Shall we begin?"

Alexandra watched her opponent from the moment he appeared to her range of vision, watching his movements and his stature very careful. His weapon suggested she could not block it head on without suffering from such a thing, she would have to divert the energy rather than absorb it. The muscles will make it harder for him to react in quick movements, and the sword will slow him down if not slightly, thus allowing for her the advantage speed and agility wise where he had strength, she would have to go for single point hits over the head or torso as it would likely be harder considering his range of movements. He had scanned the area like here, meaning he recognized the advatages of the obsticles as well as the disadvantages.

With that her eyes ceased and focused on his before a happy and joyful smile, something far out of place for this type of battle, fell on her face. "A pleasure to meet you, we shall and i am Alexandra Cinthra." She gave a low bow, her head down and eyes closed as one arm fell on her chest while the other crossed behind her back as she gave him the sign of respect that few received by her outside of battles like these. "Shall we begin here, or get some room between us?" The words came out as she straightened up and took a saber in hand, smiling still as she activated the silverblade and spun it in her hand a few times as she smiled.

Navio acknowledged his opponent's sense of honor and returned a slight bow. He looked her over in the process, taking note of her small and most likely agile frame. Navio was aware of his own abilities and decided that his best bet was to be very aggressive in his attacks in order to give his opponent less time to react.

"Indeed, it's a pleasure."

His immediate attention was turned towards Alexandra's blade as it gleamed and erupted outwards in a display of condensed energy; a lightsaber. Navio had crossed paths with Jedi and the like before and he always found their conflicts quite stressful. However, without the ability to use the Force, or Voodoo Magic for that matter, his willpower remained strong and confident. His blade work was nothing to be scoffed at and he was prepared to prove it here in this fight.

"Let us begin here."

Navio allowed his answer to be heard by [member="Alexandra Cinthra"] before acting efficiently, a bell ringing off in the distance signaling the start of the fight. The large Mandalorian bursted forth with impressive speeds despite his size, due to not being weighed down by his massive armor. His blade remained forward in a specific stance before crossing threw the air with powerful and swift force, amplified by his strength. It would streak across diagonally from the top of his opponent's small frame down to her side. Regardless of his success, he'd quickly chain in another heavy strike where the previous ended, horizontally across her left side.

His form was professional and aggressive, similar to that of a battle hardened warrior.

Her smile only grew as he shot forward and she quickly adjusted her movements to fit the heavy strikes, and quick ones at her. They both had the advantage of being fully rested and ready to go, he had strength and she speed, so she would use such things to her advantage in this fight. She moved first and let her feet only rest very lightly on the ground, her eyes focused on the muscles and his feet rather than the blade so that she would understand where it is this blade would fall.

The good thing about the first strike being diagonal was that it would be easier to move off to the side by transferring the energy and having it follow her blade, but then came the horizontal strike that she barely had time to react to, her body forcing her to roll out of the way, blade passing just over her body as it fell to the ground and she looked around. If she had the force she could use a rock or branch against him, but she didn't, so she would have to work with what she had. With that thought she moved back and positioned herself as far away as possible as she took stock of how long it would take to tire out her enemy.

[member="Navio"]

Witnessed his opponent's agility first hand as she deflected his first strike and just barely managed to roll away from his second. However, Navio knew full well that the only way he would win this fight would be to keep constant pressure on his opponent. With that in mind, Navio had almost instantaneously reacted after his second strike, following Alexandra's attempt to distance herself from him. His long blade shot outwards once with in reach and struck once more with a horizontal slash across his opponent, its target just below the middle of her torso to ensure a better chance to strike.

His best bet was to keep this up and continued with another strike that would require Navio to quickly flip his blade and slash his sword diagonally upwards this time, making it a little harder dodge. All the while, Navio took full advantage of his blade's long length so that he could reach his opponent while also keeping her at bay. Her agility was worrisome however, which was perhaps the hardest trial he would have to overcome in this fight.

Navio's reckless yet aggressive fighting style was akin to that of a relentless and experienced hunter.

Tiberius walked into the arena to watch his friend and squad mate [member="Navio"] in this fight, although it appeared as if the match had already begun. He noticed [member="stardust"] was already in the arena and sat down next to her, she seemed fixated by the match and he quickly got into it too. Watching his friend barely miss the young woman he was facing he groaned a little as she seemed to dance away from his attack. "You'll have to be a little faster than that bud if you want to get her" he said aloud more to himself than anyone around.

'Son of a queen, hes faster than i thought...' She moved and almost reached her destination as the strike came in close once more, her body turning as she grabbed her second blade and activated it as she crossed the blades and caught the blade with them, it wasn't a straight out block though as the moment it connected with the blades she adjusted its path then shut off the blades to move the extra foot she needed. And that is when she took advantage of his reckless strikes, as the next one came in she would get just a bit to close to the tree that she had been heading for and used that to her advantage as the blade would have to literally bite into and through the tree if he was going to continue his strike. If not he would have to adjust his stance and take the time for him to get out of the range of the tree interfering, giving her time to recoup even if for a moment. There would be one problem though, his blade had hit her in the leg on the first strike in her attempt to redirect it, his first point counted then and there as she noted the pain that had come to mind now.

With the pain, and the fact this battle was going bad already she returned her sabers to her side and grabbed the collapsible echani war staff, spinning it as she took her stance and waited for him to get into a place where he could resume his attack once more on her.

"There you go bud, way to get a point"! Tiberius exclaimed as he saw Navio's blade glance off and hit [member="Alexandra Cinthra"]. For right now anyway the fight was going in his friends favor. When his opponent switched to a staff, Tiberius feared the change of tactics would throw his squad member off. This was indeed going to be a very interesting match...one that hopefully [member="Navio"] could walk away from victorious.

Navio had managed to finally land a hit on his opponent, however the resulting slash forced his blade to clash into the nearby tree. Luckily for him, the blade in question was nowhere near as sharp as his personal blade as a way to ensure his opponent's safety. The weight, size and his own strength were a different story though as the blunt blade smashed into the tree, splintering it and getting slightly wedged into its bark. Navio managed to free the blade with in a matter of seconds, but this did leave him open and allowed for his opponent to cover the ground she needed and change her weapon.

His relentless assault was temporarily halted as he quickly turned his body around in order to face Alexandra, taking note of the small distance created as well as her sudden weapon change. She pulled out a rather peculiar retractable staff, leaving him slightly confused for one reason in particular.

-Why is she using a staff in a blade tournament? Well, either way it looks like I'll have to be cautious...-

Navio analyzed her form and weapon for a moment before throwing his blade forward, re-gripping it with both hands. His own posture slightly changed to better suit his opponent's new weapon, but he was slightly unsure on how his next course of action were gonna go. One thing in particular that concerned him was Alexandra's lack of counter attacks so far, but maybe this was due to him not really giving her much of a chance to.

Either way, his stamina was still very full due to his extensive self-trained conditioning and battle hardened experiences. Navio darted forward once more, his sword positioned outwards from his side. Once with in reach of his long blade, Navio would strike horizontally across in a different arc than before, but filled with the same debilitating strength. He was trying to gauge his opponent's next moves with this strike to determine how he'd adapt after.

And as the next move came Alexandra jumped, using the staff like a pole vault before going over his blade just enough to then pick up the staff and aim a quick blow at his closest arm before then immediately shifting into a ready stance to watch for a defense to her unorthodox strike of for him to take the hit and counter it. One of two things would follow, the hit would connect and she would have to slide her feet and body to provide for a strong and grounded stance as the next blow would come for her no doubt, her only chance to also ground her staff as she would attempt to deflect the blade. The alternative strategy would be a far different story, if he took the time and speed to block the strike she would instantly aim a blow at the man's right temple, the opposite side of his body that she had originally gone to attempt a strike at. This would be a quick movement that was more instinct than actual thought, a trait from her extensive experience with fighting with the staff or a saberstaff in live combat, all that would matter now is which scenario came to pass.

[member="Navio"]

Navio was prepared for some sort of counter attack, but to his surprise he did not expect his opponent to use the staff as a pole vault in order to fling herself into the sky. This unexpected maneuver coupled with his miss caused him to be caught by surprise. As such, Alexandra's strike mid-air towards his shoulder connected firmly, pushing his frame slightly. No doubt there'd be some type of bruise in the future, however the Mandalorians body strength and endurance was an impressive feat in itself.

1 point for Alexandra

Navio snapped back into reality as the blow impacted his shoulder, forcing his head to turn in order to follow the agile Echani's movements. His reflexes acted out of instinct as his right foot pivoted backwards and his large blade followed suit with exceptional force. It's target was the sky-borne Alexandra. This sudden assault, grouped with her being mid-air, made the attack difficult to dodge, but not impossible. The weight of the blade amplified with Navio's brute might also made the strike very powerful, capable of most likely flinging the small Echani across the arena should she manage to block.

As the battle raged on, Navio was slowly adapting to the agile Echani's movements, however it'd still take him awhile to accurately attune to her change in fighting style. None the less, he learned from his previous attacks that the key was to continue with his initial plan; constant assaults.

(In response to the first attack) As such, should the Echani block the attack and be sent flying, Navio would follow and attempt to close the gap for another diagonal slash towards her.

(In response to the first attack) Should she dodge, he'd also follow up with a similar attack, but with a horizontal arc.

-I won't waiver just yet...-

'Shit.' The blade came up as she shifted the staff mid air and the blade fell on it, sending it and her flying off course and into the ground. Hopefully it wouldn't count as a point but she wasn't sure, so she would need to stay focused as the man charged her with her still on the ground. Once the slash came down though it was another story as she rolled just enough to let the blade sink into the ground before getting up without grabbing the staff and sending a fist right at the man's face followed up by a jab at the man's arm. Of course these even if they connected would grant her no points, but they weren't against the rules and she needed a distraction so that she had time to grab one of her sabers and switch back to the blade. Now though, should she succeed, she dropped into a Makashi stance and grinned wide as her eyes focused and closed on his own, a challenge for him to bring everything her had. Should, for what ever reason, the quick strikes aimed at the key areas fail and he recover before she can get her saber out she would close the distance and as a strike came use his own body's momentum to get around the strike and get behind him, attempting to then draw her saber and ignite it before letting a quick strike be landed on his back before he could turn. Of course, both scenarios are granted in the fact he doesn't act fast enough to just take her out without her being able to land any blows. In which case, this is gonna hurt.

Navio had managed to fling her a considerable distance, following after her. His next strike however was barely avoided once more with an agile roll. The trained warrior kept his eyes on his opponent as she recovered and came at him with fists barred, as if she was trying to box the large individual down. As the first strike came straight towards his face, his left hand removed itself from the blade's grip and met with Alexandra's in an attempt to intercept it. If successful, his bulky hand would grip onto the female Echani's with firm strength before throwing it away and returning to his blade's grip, a follow up slash shooting diagonally upwards towards her side in a quick response.

Whether or not he landed the strike, his legs would quickly tense up and use the built up pressure to jump backwards and distance himself from his opponent. He'd allow for her to redraw her blades in order to make it a more interesting match, as well as retain his own honor. The tall Sephi would ready his stance and wait for her to strike this time, deciding it best to alter the flow of the battle.

"Come..."

She moved around his blade once more, a act of pure care for the blade rather than trying to draw her own, this was going to end badly if she did not get on the offensive. She had taken hits where he had not, and this small fact was what gave him the upperhand, but that would not last forever as she moved to the warstaff and picked it up before returning it to its compact size. Then she drew her sabers and switched into a far more aggressive form than many were witness too. Relying on speed and power behind the strikes she ignited both sabers and began to send a series of blows that would go in such order as, left thigh, right wrist, right leg, left elbow, left torse, left knee from the inside and her right hand, and then lastly a strike at his chest. Of course this flurry of strikes could be interrupted at any point, but in risking so also means he would have to leave himself open to strike at her while she struck at him, and in interchanging which arm always striked, she always had one hand back as a guard against a strike in the first place, allowing for defense of her vital areas such as the head and torso.

While short on time, it would be noted by the judge that the blow that sent Alex flying did not count for points as it was blocked. However, the damage done is certainly a factor towards future points. Apologies for being short and late, figured this information would be desired.

Again this thread is going wonderfully and both writers are to be proud and congratulated for being fair to each other, writing with incredible quality, and creating an amazing fight.

carry on.
