As the empire rose from its first settlement, assaults upon its people were commonplace. One such threat were ambushes that caught civilian convoys by surprise. In the beginning, the nation had few dedicated battleships to spare. Therefore, smaller vessels were elevated to push back. From these humble origins did the Shield of the Expanse begin. They are the first line of defense: The Ascendant Armada.
OVERVIEW
Though years have passed since their initial landing, the empire's navy is yet reminiscent of its origin. Here, traditional Star Destroyers are far less common compared to other spacefaring nations. Instead, the Armada relies largely on smaller warships that can adequately defend convoys and chase down corsairs. Overall, the prevalent doctrines are swiftly overwhelming the enemy and rapid response.
As an organization, the Armada follows a traditional hierarchy and exemplifies the values of the empire. Exceptional service here is more than enough to change one's stars - be they man or xeno. Bravery, Devotion, and Sacrifice are the cornerstones of every soldier within their midst.
It is an absolute certainty that, without their stalwart defense of the empire, the Ascendancy would be overrun.
