PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Nearly a century ago, the Yeshua of the past was a completely different animal. He was brutal, self-serving, and cared little for the common mortal. However, after his imprisonment at the hands of the Galactic Republic, he began to change. Influenced by a man named Yosef, Yeshua saw that mortals were more than a food source. They were complex and marvellous creatures, worthy of more than being trampled under his boot. This new perspective saw Yeshua begin his life anew, not as a tyrant of man, but as a leader of men.

However, while he does view mortals as more than livestock, there is much of his original nature that yet persists. Yeshua seldom settles for being a subordinate, unless said position provides concrete advantages over his current predicament. He is ruthless in battle, unwavering in conviction, and overall comes off as a stern individual. As a leader, he is tough, efficient, and fair with those who serve in.

HISTORY
In the beginning, there was Blood.

During the early 800s ABY, the Galaxy was asleep. The 400 Year Darkness had started to wane, but there were no reigning powers about the stars. No sprawling Republics or Empires. Nothing to stand in the way. In those days, a fringe gathering of Sangnir sank their fangs into a number of worlds. Theirs was a bloody regime in the Inner Rim, one defined by brutality. The man - or monster - who would become known as Yeshua was a willing part of this regime. He was a being ruled by instinct and whim. Whatever he wanted, he took. Whenever he craved, he indulged.

So it was until 835 ABY. The Darkness broke and ambition returned to the Galaxy. Stellar governments began to form and quickly expand. One such, the Galactic Republic, frowned upon the crimson regime. There was no diplomacy. There was no parlaying with warlords. Only swift and utter judgment. The regime was toppled after a brief, yet costly battle. The gathering then scattered on the winds as their leadership was captured. Some were immediately put to the sword. Others turned coat. The rest were imprisoned. Yeshua was one such.

Cast into a cell, the Vampire was practically forgotten. He would have perished, were it not for the kindness of his cellmate: Yosef. He claimed to have been imprisoned for his "heretical" views of the Force. Given their common misfortune, the two men passed the years in deep debate. Yeshua learned that mere mortals were more than just what ran through their veins. They were truly remarkable. They could challenge his greatest convictions. They could stand for something.

It was safe to say that Yosef made quite the impression. So large, in fact, that he gave Yeshua his name. The name of his birth was forgotten and the Vampyre started anew within his cell. He had made his peace with the fact that their four walls would be his death bed; and therefore never anticipated their sudden liberation. On one fateful day, the station came under the occupation of a terrorist cell. And hot on their heels was a regime from the southern systems. Their battle rocked the station and sent the cell blocks flying open.

The two men attempted to make their escape then, but Yosef had grown feeble over the years. He was not able to fight through the thicket of prisoners eagerly seeking a way out. Instead, he pled for Yeshua to go on and to truly live better this time. That was the last that Yeshua saw Yosef: an elderly face quickly disappearing behind a crowd of rowdy inmates. Yeshua did not find an escape pod that day, but he did make it off the station. When the southern regime won and secured the locale, he surrendered to their forces. Bargained for a chance anew.

He would serve as a part of their military in exchange for freedom. Other prisoners of the bloc took the same "deal." They were made to serve aboard smaller, droid commanded patrol vessels. Quick, expendable assets to contest piracy along the hyperlanes. Yeshua adapted. Survived. And proved his worth to his new "employers." He discovered a knack for giving orders in the midst of perilous situations. And, in time, earned a formal education at the Admiral Trench Naval Academy. What emerged on the other side was a full-fledged officer of the Confederate Armada.

Yeshua served admirably from that day, going on to command the CNS Jericho. It was a fine vessel - a beloved warship that featured a mostly organic crew. Yeshua went out of his way to offer opportunities to the reformed, and thus his crew was supremely rough around the edges. They were like him - monsters who had been reborn. And together, they were successful until the very end. When the Confederacy collapsed following an otherworldly assault, his crew was scattered and the CNS Jericho destroyed. Yeshua survived and followed the remnant to the Shiraya Expanse. There, he served the successor to the nation that allowed him a chance to change.

But as with all things, time brings change. And following an operation gone horribly awry, Yeshua found himself stranded - far from home and comrade alike. Yet Yeshua had survived much worse until this point. This would not be his end.
