Rescue Resu (Vitae Dominion of Resu)

[member="Fatty"] I am inviting on the sole thing of his submission and baby. He can help out or correct any major mistakes.

The Realm of the Resu was a strange place. As soon as Sheila had entered it with the rest of the Vitae she had felt something cold in her skin and crawling all over it. The Vitae were working hard to make a place in the galaxy and coming here she well wasn't certain what they could do but the locals were famous for being monstrous and dangerous. She moved around leading the way for the grandmaster to come and join them as she wanted to get a good sense of the forces they could deploy on the planet. "[member="Vulpesen"], we are here and ready." She was looking at the datapad the one soldier was typing up team objectives. THere were a number of chances for finding crashed ships on the surface while she was rubbing her hands together. "There is a bunch of stuff we can search for."

Objective A:
Treasure Hunt - Search the moons and planet for anything crashed from ships.

Objective B:
Build a relationship with the locals.

Objective C:
There is a derelict in orbit with a weak transponder beacon.

Vulpesen smiled a bit as he glanced down at the planet of Resu. Another day, another mission. Hopefully, this one would end fairly well and without any large amounts of bloodshed. "Ace, set us down on a landing platform, hopefully, these folks will be open to negotiation." His words were spoken with a tinge of worry as he read over their file. Harsh and devoted members of the crusade these Resu were. Still, that didn't mean they couldn't be reasoned with. After all, stranger things had happened.

"Mind if I join you?" Carliah called as Vulpesen was preparing to depart. She had decided a good way to prove herself would be to start doing more work with diplomacy among the Vitae. This trip seemed like a good place to start, so she had signed up to lend a help hand. The former Sith was a bit anxious and didn't want to off on her own, so she rode with Vulpesen. Now that he seemed ready to get to work she wanted to go with him. If he accepted she would go, if not she'd wait for someone else. [member="Vulpesen"] [member="Sheila"]

This world was both a mixture of the strange and wonderful. All the people working to expand and bring something good to the galaxy. It was what Vulpesen had dreamed of and as the jedi master stood there she clasped her hands, from the bridge of the Harlequin she let her eyes explore the Resu's domain and she was waiting. Her engineer was working on the computers and uploading the coordinates of fallen ships into her tactical pad for her wrist that would link to her holo palm unit. That was what really made it important though while Matsu had the sealed armor and equipment for herself, her disc saber's on her hip while she was practicing modifications to them. Her normal saber on the opposite side and a stun blaster. She had needed to know how to use her equipment and now it was ending up being more so then ever while she moved to start heading out. Researchers from Sasori were here working to construct a mobile warehouse they could bring scrap and clean up the planet with to help out.

Objective: A Salvage

[member="Solan Charr"] told her to go to moon, and find salvage the wreckage it would be fun he said. He was wrong this was boring, trying to find some treasure. All she could find was lumps of metal, and other thing. She was going to keep searching, as her master said something of vital importance would be here. She idea what she was looking for, but apparently when she found it she would know what is was. So she carried on anyway, she was starting to practice moving things with the force. As she been told to practice, when ever she could.

Objective B: CRUSH THE INFIDELS!

Stone Hermes, the First Convert of the Moross Crusade was in his lab, where dozens of bodies were stacked up in various stages of both the vongspawn virus and the techno-virus. None however, over the course of six years, had been successful experiments. He had no success in reversing the massive loss of life from the Rapturing, or the plague that was reducing the numbers of the Ancient Resu, those untouched from Techno-virus treatment that caused them to believe in the Moross Crusade.

However, with the dissolution of the Theology as they knew it... their purpose in life as religious zealots began to diminish. The Ancients began to regain a higher purpose than simply breeding stock, and they were sure to make the Morossian Resu knew that. For the first time in years, the two different races began to commune with one another beyond the form of combat. A new faction began to splinter from the typical Morossian Resu, and they pronounced Stone Hermes "The Last Believer", to mock him.

A civil war broke out between the minority of the Ancient Supporting Techno-virus Resu, and the Morossian Resu. In order to show their support, the Morossian Resu had begun calling him "The Lord Resu", and a desperate few, had even suggested that he may be one of the ten gods. Most usually, Lliad, for his connection with plagues and cures. Stone Hermes did nothing to dismiss any of these claims, friend or foe, and cared merely that he was able to prevent his race from dying out, being unable to propagate at present.

While within the research station on the Capitol Moon Shikyu, orbiting the Gas Giant that held the other 121 moons within the dominion of the Realm of Resu, sensors began to pick up an unfamiliar presence.

"<Lord Resu, an unfamiliar presence taints our system.>" Another Convert had spoken to him in the native tongue, arcing the electric language between the two.

"<Show me. Do they speak yet?>" Stone Hermes turned from his place and snarled, shaking his head as if sneezing.

"<No my Lord.">

"<Prepare me a shuttle with six of my best once they have. I will test their worth here, and show them the might of the Moross Crusade!>" The lab began to cackle with electricity from every quadrant as the Morossian Resu present thrust their arms in the air and roared in affirmation.

"Of course you can. Just try not to say anything that'll get us shot." Vulpesen gave a small grin as his ship continued down until it finally hit the landing platform, allowing him to make his way off of it, sensing a sudden shift. Something was coming and it didn't feel right, at least not right in the way that he'd be sharing coffee with it. "Ace, send out a hailing signal to any non-vitae shipson the planet. Perhaps they'll come open te door if we knock." There was a bark from inside the ship and Ace did as he was told, leaving Vulpesen to simply take a seat, and wait.

"How in the hell did you train a six inch tall wolf to do this kind of poodoo?" Carliah asked, giving Vulpesen an incredulous stare. She has never heard of a wolf piloting a ship, much less a six inch tall wolf. She wondered how he pulled it off. As for not saying anything that would get them shot, well she would certainly try. No promises could be made though as she was not and never again would be fully sane. @Vulpesen

Sheila was focused and in the suit ready to go, a small modification to it and she was able to go into the suit with pne of the men who could fit her. Helped he was a miraluka and blind so her being in his helmet was fine. They were making their way out towards the derelict in a shuttle they could bring a small team to. "We are heading over to the derelict, grandmaster vulpesen you are in charge of talking to the people. No one seems to want to work with someone who is the size of their finger... speciests." She huffed a little while they were moving around in the shuttle and she sat in the miraluka's helmet.

"<Lord Resu, they speak, and it appears some have landed upon the surface of one of our moons.>"

"<Is the shuttle ready?>"

"<Of course my Lord Resu, the Zealots await your presence and command. May the Gods bless you in your Crusade!>"

With that, Stone Hermes excited the watery confines of the research station on the surface of Shikyu, and stood in the vacuum that surrounded the ice moon. He walked through that airless domain, completely encased in techno-virus from, all biological components protected from the harshness of space, and breathing through integrate tanks on his back. The most vulnerable spot of any Morossian Resu, the achilles heel, but extremely difficult to reach without the risk of becoming infected.

"<Where are those who would taint our Realm?>" He asked another of his kind.

"<We will have their location in a moment. We await their response to our warning.>"

That warning was thus:

"WARNING: HALT. RESTRICTED SPACE. IDENTIFY!"

Her eyes shot opened as Matsu felt it, something was down there more then she expected and Vulpesen was moving towards it. She wasn't certain what they might find while walking along in her ship but the holopad was showing the capital that the vitae were heading to. She was heading off into the distance for the larger more salvageable job and testing hopefully a new gadget that would be able to be used. Well not new but she was testing her saber blades modifications that she was working on to make them more able to fly around. "I'll be heading towards some of the beacons for crashed ships."

objective: a

She was searching the salvage, she could sense some else coming towards her. Possibly a Jedi, or may be a sith. Her imagination began to run away with her, it was a sith, they where coming for same thing she was after what ever that was. She had not even got a lightsaber yet, how was she going to defend herself.

She then saw an old ship mostly intact, she jumped in to it. She started t look for place to hide, she could not find one. She had cornered herself, oh hell she thought to herself. She then saw some metallic holds, she could hide in. She went in and hoped for the best.

"<Impossible! The tainters have landed upon Shikyu! Their location has been patched to you, my Lord.>" Stone Hermes snarled at this, incredulous that they would be so bold as to storm his castle without so much as a warning. The Resu technology was fairly primitive, and thus it was no surprise that without the help of the Moross Crusade as a nation, and with the current civil war embroiling Shikyu's waters, that there would be some sort of delay between outside invaders coming into the system and actually landing upon the surface of their many moons.

The hulking ten foot beast entered the shuttle, and patch the information he received to the piloting device. The trip would be a short hop and skip between his current location, and to a nearby location where the tainters would be currently upon the ice surface of Shikyu. They would obviously be in environment suits, considering the harsh vacuum that would surround them, which would likely limit their mobility and overall combat practicality.

Stone Hermes and his ilk would have no such limitations. Moving through vacuum was as simple as swimming through water.

Obviously, whoever had sent this delegation to "build a relationship with the locals", had never heard the stories of the very nature of the Resu. They were invasive, confrontational, and quick to forge permanent enemies. A first impression, was the only impression a Resu needed to destroy your entire family. They were also, thanks to the Great Change brought to them by their god Neth during the era of the Moross Crusade, were (mostly) unwaveringly zealots to the religion, and would strike down anything they deemed as blasphemous.

They were not a race, that made allies easily. Should the Vitae Alliance here try to forge a relationship with the Resu race as the Moross Crusade had, they would need a hand of divinity to change their minds. The very most they could do in their present condition, would be to avoid all hostilities as much as possible (a minefield), and to offer economic support to the fledgling civilization in its various endeavors, in exchange for the Resu recognizing the Alliance as non-hostile.

The relationship, over the course of a few decades (several decades corresponding to many generations of Resu), might develop into something more mutually beneficial rather than parasitic, but it was far more likely the Resu would become a constant pest to anyone who attempted to claim the system as their own. That is not even taking into account the various plagues that presently afflict the race as a whole.

Approximately 90% of all Resu are infected by the Techno-virus strain that started with Stone Hermes. 30% of those infected by the Techno-Virus have begun to side with the unchanged "Ancient" Resu, due to the loss of the Moross Crusade as a religion; this meaning that 40% of the total Resu population is in a state of rebellion against the current regime. The 10% uninfected "Ancient" Resu, are dealing with a plague that has infected over 80% of the living population, which leaves them alive, but infertile with even shorter life spans.

That means, of the millions of Resu that exist, only around 2% are still capable of reproducing. The Resu are an endangered species that is prone to irrational conflict, a nasty condition in of itself. The chances of the Resu being a useful addition to the Vitae Alliance, is slim to none. There is hope however, if Stone Hermes can conduct a successful experiment that binds the Vongspawn Virus to the Techno-virus treated Resu, that leads to a renewed state of successful fertilization with the addition of biological mass, that can accommodate for all aspects of what makes up the current Resu.

All of these fears and hopes rested solely upon the shoulders of the Lord Resu, the keystone to his entire civilizations continued survival, and he thought of them all as his shuttle arrived at the ambiguous location of Vulpesen and the rest of his party. It slowly rotated as it touched down near them, carrying seven Morossian Resu in total including himself. The door slowly opened, revealing the technological abominations present within, cackling with electric energy and menacing pointed edges.

"Warning: Halt. Restricted Space. Indentify!" Stone Hermes roared through the basic translator that served as his voice to non-Resu.

Objective A @Thelma

Matsu kept moving, her ship not touching down as there was a sound from the translator while Harmony was working in the cargo hold. Something was there for Vulps to deal with and she was looking over a datapad now for her siren's as the twins were looking to provide a tactical readout of what they might encounter. There wasn't much known about this system or these being which was a dangerous notion for them going forward at least until Vulps and his team were involved and searching. She started the simple way by making a probe droid and sending it forward to scout before they landed.

"A lot of trial, error, and modifications to the control panel." He started into the cargo hold and picked himself a suit of environmental armor. It was a little bulky, but things had come a long way since the days of old republic. Once Carliah had prepared hersef, he opened the cargo doors and stepped out to face the Resu, though he stayed on the ramp as they had told him to Halt. "I am Vulpesen Espadus Torrevaso, Valde of the Tenevi Order and leader of the Vitae Alliance. I am here in hopes to negotiate a treaty between your people and mine."

Carliah stood slightly behind Vulpesen's right shoulder. She had decided to stay relatively silent until she was needed, as the former Mad Queen had no idea what to even say. She shifted nervously from foot to foot as the halted on the ramp and Vulpesen addressed the Resu before them. He seemed rather hostile and all of Carliah's instincts told her to kill him now before he became a threat, but she forced herself to hold back. She was hear to proved she could solve things without violence after all.

Snarling, Stone Hermes did not move from his place upon his shuttle, so as to not provoke the infidels from doing anything stupid. They at least were able to comprehend and follow simple commands. This was a good sign for them, although as most Resu would, Stone Hermes was actively seeking out anything within them that he could find offensive enough to attack them. Stone Hermes yearned for the battlefield, yearned for some reason to attack, but was held back by his responsibility to his people to tame his own kind from attacking everything at first sight.

The infrared blobs before him spoke of another faction coming here, as if Resu had no prior obligations to another faction. This was trespassing! This was blasphemy! This was an act of war! But he stayed his blade from claiming yet another victim to his plague. Not yet. Perhaps though, there was a way that he could convince them coming here was tantamount to suicide with words, before he had to prove it by blade.

"Stone Hermes, First Convert of Resu to Moross Crusade, Lord of Resu! Archivist to Aesir Neth, Keeper of Knowledge, the Great Changer. Sign no treaty to Resu, sign pact to Pantheon!"

If Resu facial expressions were actually physically possible, the ambassadors would have noticed the slight increase in sadistic glee within the beast as he set down a master stroke to break down negotiations As Lord Resu, he would refuse to sign any treaty with another organization unless it was consented by the Gods... but he like many within the religion, knew that the gods were Lost. The gods were dead. There was no way Vulpesen and his people could sign a pact with the Pantheon, because the Pantheon was unreachable.

There was a chance however, that Vulpesen may be capable of swaying the tide of negotiations, if he were to become one of the gods in the eyes of the Morossian Resu. Unfortunately for him, Vulpesen was not standing at the mercy of any Morossian Resu that would believe him to be a god... probably.

Not Stone Hermes, but the others maybe. It would be a hard gamble, and he would have to have known the faith intimately in order to imitate one of their gods. Not only that, but if Vulpesen were able to convince his people that he was some Aesir from the Pantheon, it had the probability of illegitimizing the claims of other Resu stating that Stone Hermes was the Aesir Lliad, thus giving him precedence over Stone Hermes in the hierarchy of power to at least most of the Resu.

Additionally, should Vulpesen kill Stone Hermes, he would become a god in the eyes of some of his people that viewed Stone Hermes as one of the three current living Divinities, and might be able to restore the faith of 40% of the rebelling Resu should he claim that he is in totality an Aesir, while at the same time commanding the current regime by default. He would become the sole ruler of the Realm. There was also the possibility that the current status of Resu's endangerment, might give Vulpesen and his people leverage over the Lord Resu, and thus the majority of the Resu people, forcing him to sign a treaty at the peril of his race.

The number of options Vulpesen could hypothetically have at his disposal to deal with this situation was quite plenty. However, the number of options he knew about that were in his disposal... was probably pretty slim.

Solan listened to the voice as it spoke and looked at Vulpesen who remained beside him. His hands were resting on the blasters he had brought with him, one of the only weapons he had decided to bring with himself other than the Krath Warblade that he carried these days. His hands drew from the blasters as he heard the words and smiled. 'They still believe in their gods....' Solan thought to himself, only Kira who was bonded with him would hear the words and she would glance at him from his shoulder. The Ashlan wolf was small but that was all, it had an intelligence and sense of loyalty that Solan could never ask for in any other creature. There was one thing though that he noticed, would Vulpesen do what was necessary to win the support of these creatures, or would he find himself with enemies within and without.

A smirk touched his face and he stepped forward off the ramp, heeding Solan's words. "I noticed." He rose his voice for his next words to be heard. "I've seen your gods before. I am not impressed, at least not enough to call them any sort of deity. I've held power in my own hands And if those are your gods, then it must be easy to add to their number." His tail flicked in its cover and his hand lifted at his side, causing something in his ship to give a light shift. Nothing out of the normal, certainly not anything that could be seen as a conventional weapon. No, all he had done was jostled a cage.

"Your pantheon is scattered. Therefor, I am here to offer a new age of protection. One which gives your people a purpose beyond blind worship. And if you think me unworthy to call your Gods mortals, then i invite you to try yourself. We will see who's power wins. Mine, or the messenger to Gods." Vulpesen always believed in freedom of thought, even more so as a Vitae Leader. But he couldn't allow this to stand as an obstacle. Especially when the knowledge stood as a cage to their minds. For this reason, he had challenged them. Divine protection against his own. He just hoped he had what it took.

Carliah had to resist the urge to laugh as Vulpesen openly challenge their gods. It sounded like something she would have done. Hell, she'd probably still do it now. It was an interesting idea, to challenge the gods of another. The former Mad Queen smirked as she watched the events unfold. Her hand drifted down to the vibrosword at her waist. She no longer carried a lightsaber. After Yusan had told it used to be his mothers, she had given it back to him. It had felt wrong to keep it. @Vulpesen @Solan Charr [member="Stone Hermes"]
