But....if we have Darths then we should have Rens, just like we should have other clan / Fation titles that adhere to a religion or belief from the films/books.

Just because WE don't know much about them, they are part of the SW canon many people will follow, and with lots of threads touching upon events in the Original Trilogy, 'TFA' is more current than that, so I think it's perfectly acceptable. It's breathing new life and new imagination and new playgrounds into Chaos. I am guilty of even setting threads on Jakku just because we've glimpsed it in the trailers but it already looks a stunning planet with great potential.

Yes it's taking over with everyone's excitement, I myself have created 2 characters based on just the trailers - a pilot and a Stormtrooper, but it's still Star Wars and still in the galaxy we are playing in so I think it's cool we are having people bring new titles and characters and Factions into the play along with Darth / Empire / Imperials etc.

Wait until 'Rogue One' comes out - we are never gonna see as many fighter pilots and Rebels crop up here!
