"There are a couple side entrances I made sure to include for the more adventurous Padawan's. They are hooked right to the alert systems though." There were always those who believed themselves to be immortal because they were Jedi. It was the folly of youth, and he made certain to let them think they were being sneaky while, in fact, they were being protected from themselves.

Otherwise they'd just try to find another way out without any eyes on them.

"You can of course leave through the front door. There are some speeders around for you to take, as going by foot would be pretty dangerous." He paused for a moment, then smiled.

"We could take her to that facility, actually, love."

Valery squinted.

Sometimes, her husband felt a little too clever. But that's not why she squinted. He had added some side entrances to her old Temple, huh? She wasn't aware of that, and it took her a moment to accept it. This had once been the Temple of her Enclave, but it was a lot more than that now. In many ways, it was his Temple too, and not just because he rebuilt it, or because he had married her.

There was a lot of history here for them both.

"I think that's a great idea," Valery said after a moment and with a smile again. "We'll take the long way around, through the Jungle. Then we can show her what you've been working on." Valery turned to Saahar, who likely wondered what this facility was about. Or, at least, why the Nobles wanted to bring her there.

"Here on New Cov, my husband started a project to heal Sithspawn. The ones who were turned from animals into... well, monsters. He has made a lot of progress."

Facility? She turned to Valery for clarification, her raised eyebrow gradually flattening out in realization. It was a rehabilitation center. For Sith spawn.

That might've been a bit on the nose.

"You can reverse Sith alchemy?" The girl asked Kahlil, eyes widening in subtle disbelief. No wonder they were so invested in helping her. This clearly wasn't their first rodeo. A pang of some indiscernible emotion grabbed at her chest, "Yeah, I'd uh- definitely want to see that."

The number of creatures, not to mention classmates, she'd seen experimented on- warped beyond recognition was unnerving. It was a threat which constantly loomed over her head before New Cov. If she couldn't be useful, her flesh certainly could.

"Some. Before I left the Sith I was a student of Alchemy and Sorcery. The knowledge I do have I've been able to use to undo the alterations made to creatures in the moment. There are some species that are just too developed and evolved to be reversed." Especially those made from the dark, and not taken from a creature they twisted. He smiled softly, though. It wasn't surprising that she was so interested, but he didn't want to make a big deal of her curiousness.

It'd be better to just show her.

"We can go now."

Now this was interesting to Valery.

Saahar seemed to brighten up a little when the healing of Sithspawn was mentioned, and came across as eager to see it for herself. It brought a smile to Valery's lips — it was her husband's passion project and a good cause all at the same time, after all. So, as both a Jedi and as his wife, she felt quite happy about this development.

"Alright, let's go now, then." She stood up and decided to leave behind the tea cups for now. She could clean them later, anyway. Right now, she was eager to show the facility to Saahar.

"Hey love? We have a few new Sithspawn there, so maybe we could show her the process a little, or even have her help out?" She gave him those cute, pleading eyes for a moment, before turning around to start heading for the exit into the jungle. It was a rather sudden thing, going from a proper stone path, to dirt trails until even those disappeared.

The jungle around them was a beautiful thing, though. Just... very dangerous as well.

"Stay close. I sense a lot of animals between us and the facility."

The transition from temple to jungle was jarring enough for Saahar to abide by Valery's advice and stick close by. It was a more conscious choice then she realized, but either way the girl regarded the new terrain with a look of restrained awe. She'd never stepped foot in an ecosystem like this before; densely packed and full of life that wasn't on the verge of being destroyed.

"You'd let me near a Sithspawn?" She asked, bewildered by the casual trust Valery had just handed her. Surrounded by two Jedi masters definitely removed any potential of her being a threat but still- How did they know she wouldn't flip on them?

"Well, yeah."

Kahlil raised a brow as he glanced to Saahar. "If you're worried about them, they won't be able to harm you. It's not easy to keep them contained, but we've found a way to do so without harming them." The thought that she might betray them hadn't crossed his mind in the slightest. He knew what it was to be like her. He also knew the fear it could bring, being watched, fleeing.

But he trusted Valery's judgement above all else.

"You'll be fine."

"Mmmhm," Valery agreed with a smile. "The Sithspawn there won't harm you, and I'm sure would benefit from your help." Of course, Kahlil would be there to guide and supervise, and Valery herself could help with little things, too. But she hoped to have Saahar feel like what she'd be doing had a positive impact.

That she was healing one of them.

The three of them continued on their walk through the jungle, and passed by more lethal things than Valery would admit. From the flesh-eating plants, to huge predators lurking in the trees. "Don't touch that frog," Valery did mention at one point, right as they passed by a particularly colorful one.

"We should be close. If you look carefully, you might be able to see it there, in the clearing." She grinned and looked over her shoulder at Saahar. "You ready for it?"

She made no comment towards Kahlil's reassurance. Some part of her knew he understand what she truly meant by it. She didn't so much care about personal safety. Hardly any Sith did, especially when they were raised to view themselves as expendable.

"Ready as I'll ever be." The girl shrugged, somewhat at a loss. She was meant to corrupt things. Damage. Hurt. How could anything benefit from her actions? It would be the blind leading the blind. Even Valery's optimism wasn't infectious enough to overcome that specific hurdle.

Regardless the girl peered in the direction the two Jedi had led her, trying to make out the facility.
"So, we just waltz right in or..."

"No, it's not somewhere we can just walk in anymore."

Kahlil reached up a hand, tracing a different looking rune through the air. There were security cards for it of course, but his runes bypassed a lot of the usual security measures the scientists and healers had to go through to get inside. "Not all Jedi believe those tainted by the dark can be brought back." He didn't go into detail. He didn't want to.

It wasn't the brightest spot of history here.

It was a clean facility within, mostly with rooms of various scientific equipment. Alchemy was a mix of science and mysticism, and it could only really be countered with both. There were people here, going about their work, though they did nod in Kahlil's direction. "We've got the Sithspawn further within. They've got their own containment rooms and we try to make it as comfortable for them as possible, but they are a danger to everyone here."

"Not all Jedi believe those tainted by the dark can be brought back."

Valery paused for a step and turned her eyes down to the ground. She knew it was absolutely no jab at her, but having once been a Jedi who would kill anything corrupted by the Dark on sight... it always stung a little to hear it. Of course, it referred to a more recent incident, so she tried to hide the way she felt behind a smile and just followed along. Kahlil, as always, handled the security measures and because of that, it didn't take them long to get to the facility.

"What Sithspawn do we have here currently?" Valery asked because she wasn't quite sure herself. She assumed an animal that was recovered somewhere in the Galaxy after it had been turned against its will.

Hopefully, nothing too dangerous for Saahar's first time.

"What do you think of it so far?" Valery then asked Saahar, both out of curiosity and to keep her mind from wandering too much again.

At Kahlil's musings, Saahar could feel a slight shift in energy. That was personal. Definitely personal.

Whatever emotion that roused in her was quickly forgotten as Kahlil traced out a rune. She wasn't all that familiar with the more esoteric corners of the Order but even her subpar education could recognize a Sith trademark.

"Was that a rune?" She blurted out before she had the sense to stop herself. It certainly didn't feel dark. Either way she quickly cleared her throat and turned her attention to the facility.

"It's uh… it's big."

"A couple I found near Sith space. Mostly local fauna that was twisted up. I've been going about undoing it."

He paused before glancing to Saahar. And smiled. Just a simple smile this time around. "As a Sith runes were my specialty. I spent a long time hating that part of myself, but when I came to terms with it, I found a way to make what was wrong right. Not everything, but it's better than self loathing."

Then he laughed and nodded. "Well, yeah. It has to be. You should see the rooms I plan to keep Leviathin's in, when we can capture one safely to undo them."

Valery looked at her nerd of a husband and rolled her eyes, "Love, if you bring a Leviathan here, you're sleeping on the couch." Leviathan were pure creations of the Dark — the purest form of Sithspawn evil. Then there was the risk of bringing one to a planet where younglings could be trained at the Temple at any given point...

He better be joking.

...he was joking, right?

She squinted at him for another few seconds before using her clearance codes to enter the facility. The first rooms were just storage rooms or had other logistical purposes. The actual chambers where they kept Sithspawn were further into the facility, behind plenty of hallway points where blast doors could be lowered.

Should one ever be freed before being healed, they'd be contained.

"We should probably show her one that's not too intense, hm?"

At the mention of Leviathans Saahar eyes widened. Oh he wasn't joking around, this place was for real. Valery was quick to dispel any hope she might be able to see one for herself though. Probably a good call. Probably.

"Baby steps." Saahar affirmed with a light shrug. Her eyes drifted towards the blast doors, imagination brimming. Some sort of nervous excitement buzzed from her, a feeling she hadn't experienced often.

"What do you have to show me?" The girl asked. "That preferably won't immediately rip my head off." She added for good measure

"Once we've got an enclosure that makes it safe, they will be treated like any other. Many Leviathans were just Exorgoths after all." Kahlil smiled just a little as he glanced to Valery. There would be one here, eventually. Once he figured out how to contain them without any danger anyway. He glanced to Saahar though, chuckled and nodded.

No head ripping today.

"We've got some local fauna that were twisted up. We've identified enough to start the reversal process."

Valery shot him a look.

She knew exactly what that little smile of his meant. This was going to be a battle of stubbornness. But... maybe if he convinced her that it was actually safe, and only if those Leviathans weren't pure Dark Side spawn, she'd allow it.

Maybe.

"We have two choices, actually." Valery looked at her husband with a grin. "The first is one my beloved is very familiar with. He wrestled a few with his bare hands to protect me when we first met." She was the one smiling now, and walked down the hallway to lead them to where the animals were kept. "The Panthacs are a very dangerous type of predator, though. Probably why they're easier to twist and corrupt?" She glanced at Kahlil for confirmation.

"The other option can be dangerous, but if treated gently, they're quite harmless. The Bha'lir are beautiful, too. Any preference?" she asked, so that Saahar could pick for them today.

Saahar was asked to pick which beast she wanted to play with. The question was simple enough, but the fact her opinion actually had some value and weight to it caused her to pause.

She looked between the two Jedi as if gauging if the situation was real or not.

"Uh... let's go with Panthacs." There was no reasoning behind her choice outside the appeal of danger. Plus, that personal anecdote was sorta cute.

Kahlil took a soft breath before smirking to Valery. "I didn't fight with my bare hands you know." He just valued giving her privacy more than his own body, which in hindsight wasn't the most mature choice. And yet, not one he was bothered by, even now. But that was the choice. He brought them down the hall towards where he'd kept them. It was a larger room behind the glass, with only one of the Panthac's within.

If it could be called that. Twisted into something still catlike, but certainly more demonic. It laid in the back of the room, it's tail twitching as faintly glowing red eyes glared at those on the other side of the glass.

"This is one we caught recently. From what I've been able to tell, it's been modified with a Vornskr strand."

"You basically did. Let me gush over you, you stinker." She kept her voice a bit softer, hoping Saahar wouldn't overhear every word she said. But it was the truth — that day on New Cov had changed her entire life, and part of it was the way he had fought those beasts. Even all those years later, she could still imagine herself patching him up, and spending time with him at the falls after they had set up camp.

Saahar's voice snapped Valery from her daydreaming, though, and had her focus on the task at hand again.

Oops.

Valery followed her husband into the examination room and frowned once she saw the beast. How much it had changed. The mention of Vornskr had her shudder and worst memories began to resurface.

"That's horrible..."
