- This gown is made from simmersilk, an alchemized fabric which is designed to protect against blaster bolts and UV radiation.
- Ishani also alchemized the gown to allow her to better focus in the Force while wearing it.
- The gown repairs itself over time.
- Blasterproof: As clothing goes, this gown is exceptionally durable against blaster fire in particular, able to withstand even direct hits. It is not indestructible, however - one's best bet for survival if somebody starts shooting is still to run for cover.
- Lightsaber Defense: The gown also boasts some defense against the plasma found in lightsaber blades, albeit to a lesser extent than energy. It could probably withstand a glancing blow, but a direct hit would be pushing it.
- Less Thinking, More Doing: Less concentration is required to use the Force while wearing the gown, courtesy of the alchemical enhancements Ishani added to it.
- Sunscreen: The fabric is designed to shield against UV radiation. Hey, at least Ishani won't be getting sunburned while she's wearing it.
- Waterproof: The fabric has been treated so that it will not retain water (and become heavy) when submerged.
- Self-Repairing: The fabric will repair itself over time. This is more for ease of upkeep than a protective measure during combat. For instance, a small tear in the gown will take a few hours to mend, while more extensive damage could take several days to fully repair.
- Disruptors: Even a glancing hit from a disruptor will cause the gown to disintegrate.
- Force Nullify: Exposure to Force-nullifying matter such as ysalamiri, void stones, and nullification resin disrupt the alchemization of the fabric, effectively making it little more than regular clothing. If it is damaged while in this state, it cannot self-repair until it is removed from the influence of the nullifying matter.
- Force Vulnerable: Because it is alchemized, the gown is more vulnerable to any manipulations of the Force.
Once upon a time, Ishani made herself a dress. After learning the method of creating simmersilk, a type of alchemized fabric, she initially set out just to see if she could make it herself. After successful construction of a bolt of simmersilk, she used it to make a dress. Further experimentation, adding extra effects to the clothing, happened only afterwards as she sought to push her capabilities as an alchemist to the next level and make something truly special.
