JEDI TEMPLE RUINS
NEW COV
MID RIM TERRITORIES

Asides from when he came here to check on the temple with his Padawan just a couple days ago, it'd been a while since Kahlil last stepped foot in the ruined temple of New Cov. It's where he met Valery Noble Valery Noble , or rather why. An order long since lost. Her past when it was still the present. How beautiful the temple must have looked back those thousands of years ago with Jedi Padawans running to their next lessons. Masters discussing philosophy. Peace, before the dark years that would eventually claim the Temple and bring it to it's sorry state.

Alongside Rhemti Totriddiam Rhemti Totriddiam the Knight cleared out the landing bay, all so he could get back here easier. And with others. He went behind the Jedi Master's back, gathering up what Padawans, Knights, Masters, anyone willing to help rebuild the temple to it's former glory. A surprise for her, really. Was it selfish? Partly so. A gift to his fiance. A way to learn more of her past. But not just for her. Too many temples had been lost. Some to the Sith, some to time, others to the other various groups of the Galaxy. Today they'd reclaim some of that lost history.

Kahlil rolled up his sleeves, clicked on the hover function of one of the supply crates, and started to lead it down the ramp of his Freighter. There was plenty of work to be done.

Rebuild_Objective.png

The temple of New Cov has been in disrepair for many thousand years. Most of the original temple has been lost to time and nature, but enough of the temple still stands, waiting to be rebuilt. Relocate animals inhabiting it's halls, though be warry of the more vicious species native to New Cov's jungles. The Serenity Springs have a special connection to the Force for those more inclined to see deeper into their visions, and could use a helping hand in cleaning up. And of course, the overgrown gardens could use a culling.

Recover_Objective.png

Lost before the resurgence of the Sith, many of it's artifacts still remain. Datacrons as well as physical manuals to various lightsaber forms, force abilities, and the history of the temple itself could have survived the ravaging of time. To Kahlil's knowledge, Valery's own Holocron lays somewhere down below. But be warned. Power attracts all manner of creatures and people. Recover what you can, but keep your eyes and ears open. Less you fall prey to what ever might be guarding the prize you seek.

The Mid Rim. Not exactly her typical neck of the woods, all things considered, nor really her area of responsibility as one of the Jedi Pilgrims. They were dedicated to the protection of the Outer Rim and its citizens. But this was to rebuild a Jedi temple, strengthening the Order as a whole.

And that was ultimately the goal of the Pilgrims. Simultaneously all Orders and no Orders, they served the people of the galaxy, working closely with the Church of the Force to be directly connected to the people they protected, counseled, healed, and lived with.

She adjusted her Jedi robes and took out a backpack of equipment. Just like when they had been working on Dremulae and Ossus, her first goal was to get a sense of the local power grid and its capabilities. Identify what wasn’t working, what could need repairs. The usual.

“Khalil,” Alana called as she stepped down the ramp of the freighter. “We have any old maps? I want to track down the power generator.”

Another expedition into the great unknown, though she didn't mind one bit. These trips for her to see the galaxy and learn more of the Force was something she greatly enjoyed. Bonus points, the planet was green as hell! After her and Sol'yan's trip into the wilds of Kashyyyk, green planets were her favourite. Tatooine had its charm, Coruscant could burn in hellfire, the handful of planets she visited were nice... but nothing came close to the beauty of green planets and the Force flowing through them.

Stepping out of the freighter, Ara took a deep breath and rested her headphones around her neck to hear the various sounds. "I'm loving this already." She muttered with a smile... right before slipping a cigarette between her lips and lighting it. Thank goodness her mom wasn't on Kashyyyk anymore.

She paced around a bit and admired the old temple. Even in disrepair, the temple and overgrowth was something to appreciate. Naturally a few photos were taken with her datapad as she took a bit of a walk around the landing area. Finally it was time to get to work. A backpack full of tools and other items, a pocket full of snacks, and a building curiosity was all she needed to go spelunking.

Adjusting her robes, Ara walked up to two others( Alana Sunrider Alana Sunrider , Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble ) as she crushed her bud underneath her boot. It was only then that she realized what kind of karking giant she was standing in front of. "Holy kriff you're huge." She muttered with pure shock over her face. "I don't even wanna know how your mother must have felt, hot damn." She continued, reaching into her pocket for another cigarette. "Yo, you see any rain coming in from up there?"

This was going to be a fun trip.

"...plan three moves ahead, with three contingency plans,
and three backup plans for those contingencies, at all times...
"
—Dagon Kaze, part of the triple-A rule lecture
Contingency. That's what brought him here. Darth Solipsis Darth Solipsis had vowed to him to erase the existence of the Jedi, forge a new reality without the servants of the Light. Since the emergence of the Sith'ari at the Sacking of Coruscant, the Jedi had been on the backfoot. Caught always a step behind. But no more. Dagon Kaze had asserted to his fellow Jedi that the time to move on the offensive was nigh. To strike back at the Darkness.

But no offense survives without a fallback plan.

The abandoned temple of New Cov was part of it. Restoring Jedi locations as holdout points to fall back to, regroup, replan, and back to fronts.

Had it not been for Kahlil and Valery, the raven-haired Knight would've remained ignorant to the existence of an ancient temple this far off in the Mid Rim.

Clad in the iconic, ragged New Jedi leather jacket, Dag stepped out of the ship and halted to scan the area. Wild jungles painted the surface, its lethal flora and fauna had long ago moved in on the temple. Branches and vines curved across the ruins, while the sounds of creatures roaming through the bush claimed this territory as their own.

"Yo, you see any rain coming in from up there?"

Dagon caught the tail end of a padawan's words and lightly chuckled at the question. As tall as the Watchman of Denon was, he paled in comparison to the Epicanthix behemoth. His eyes lingered over the titanic form of the man for a moment, a spark of familiarity flared in what he saw. The son of a powerful Sith Lord, much like Dagon, except that Kahlil had broken these dark chains. His twin brother - Aeric - had not. The presence of the Zambrano scion somewhat filled him with hope that one day Aeric too could shatter the corruption.

A foolish hope, but hope nonetheless.

"The power generator's a good start." the Knight nodded at the blonde Jedi's words as he walked down the ramp besides droids pushing hover carts ahead, "Dag Kaze." he offered as an introduction to both the woman he did not know and the padawan with a cigarette on her lips.

Valery had been a steadfast figure in the periphery of Lossa's life. And something important to her padawan friends. Even answering a question face to face that had been bothering her for some time. While she hadn't been as large an influence to the young Zeltron, it still felt good to answer the call for help for someone that had been important to her friends.

Hopefully this time with less sith involved.

Assigned tertiary work to begin with; A plan was being made in the meantime as she took the bag of glowsticks in hand. Slowly she pushed further out to the edges of the landing pad to observe the plants and hear the wilds while she waited before moving into the mouth of the entryway.

Light permeated the spots were the dark threatened, a green glow in her hand as she looked inward.

The padawan watched those gathered around talk and mingle, the sharp smell of cigarettes keeping her from joining them. The sharp crinkle and snap of a glowstick in her other hand lighting the way down an adjoining hallway inside. The green glow filled the dark as she tossed it down the other hallway. Crimson eyes showing her effort to control her pheromones as she looked at nothing in the blank space.

There was so much to find, clear out, and rebuild in the times ahead. Work to be done and excitement to be had. But wrangling that all in, she waited for more to be on the move than run off alone. That and she didn't want to have to ruin a surprise by being the first one hurt.

Told to keep in sight for the time being, she didn't dare amble down the way.

For now.

Pulling her pink dyed hair out of her face, she placed hand to her ear and listened. Silence inside the temple was all that greeted her. Or at least the illusion of it. The stillness in the entryway was difficult to feel easy about with all that she had been told might be waiting inside.

Her form was dark behind the green glow in her hand, waving this way before pointing that way.

"Generator generator, eyes on the perpetrator, where is the actuator and clean up the regulator." Lossa sang quietly, the smell of smoke still sharp in her nose even at this distance. She tossed another glow stick down a connecting hallway off the main entry. Waving her empty hand in front of her face, she frowned when she had nowhere else to go but back to the gathering.

They were taking forever.

Slowly, painfully slow in fact, she made her way back before stopping shy of the group. The Zabrak that was enjoying the slow death in her mouth made her stop short of actually joining them proper. About two seconds worth of sharing the same air as the smoke passed before Lossa was on the move again, and away from the smell.

Instead following along with the supply droids as they moved cargo along.

Map? Power generator?

Oh. Both would've been soo much more helpful the last couple of times Kahlil ended up here. He doubted there was a map, but this place was once a bustling temple. There had to be a generator.. Somewhere. He scratched the back of his head, about to answer Alana Sunrider Alana Sunrider as a different voice came out. He blinked, turning his gaze down to Ara Sheridan Ara Sheridan . Confused at first. Was she.. Smoking?

As she pulled out another cigarette the Knight would just raise a hand. Plucking the cig before it could be lit. "No rain, not yet. Could change any moment though. Rainforest and all." He tucked the rolled paper into his own pocket. He offered a smile, but no explanation on why he'd taken her smoke. Not yet. Instead he nodded to Dagon Kaze Dagon Kaze . They met a couple times, right? Definitely at Romi's wedding. He was.. Oh.

He was with Yula. His sister's sister. Right.

"The archives were on the second floor. If there is a generator still intact, I bet it's somewhere around there." Then turned his gaze to Lossa Darcuhl Lossa Darcuhl as the Zeltron approached the group.

"Right. Uh. Don't go wandering off. No one should be alone here. Just a friendly reminder n' such. The animals here are.. Deadly." He glanced to his arm, half expecting to see the scars from his first encounter here. Only, right. His father had new arms built for him. New, unscarred, arms. He frowned for a moment.

"Don't do anything to attract more of em, if you can help it. The smell of smoke is a good way to get some of the more aggressive species' attention, for example." His gaze shifted to Ara, a faint smirk on his lips. There was the explanation.

"I'm gonna go clean the uh, Serenity Spring. A lot of the old wings collapsed and some are in the process of collapsing, so uh, don't hit any walls either." Kahlil nodded. Yeah, that was a good enough explanation. Two thumbs up were given by the giant before he turned to head up the nearby stairs and go to the fountain in question. The spring was pretty great for meditation. Or a swim, though he doubted the Seers of old would've appreciated him swimming in it.

New Cov.

She'd been here before. Almost eaten by a plant the last time. Drengir were horrifying beings. But, she didn't realize just how important the world was to her master. Not until she caught wind of the little surprise for Valery Noble Valery Noble . Fixing her temple, from when she first lived. Her past. Not just a couple years ago or anything. Thousands of years. It surprised Iris to learn that her Master was from another time entirely.

Almost like normal Iris had wandered off on her own. Almost, because she wasn't just blindly following the colors. A heavily scarred hand traced over one of the ruined walls, feeling the years of dirt and plant that coated it. All she could think about though was questions. Was this where Valery lived her life as a Padawan? First learned how to use the Force? How to be a Jedi? It brought a smile to her lips.

The Padawan paused as a glint caught her eye. Something was.. There? She tilted her head, trying to see exactly what it could've been. Silver, shiny.

"Hey Bri? What do you think this is?"

There was very little Kyell knew about the Jedi Master who once lived here or the Jedi who are involved in rebuilding this long-abandoned Temple. In fact, there wasn't really anything he knew about New Cov either — all of this was extremely new but it didn't change anything about his desire to help. He wasn't the strongest lifter, the best crafter, or all that amazing at discovering and understanding lost Jedi history, but he was going to offer his help wherever he could.
So after taking a shuttle to the jungle world, he stepped out onto the cleared landing zone and began to look around to get a feel for where he'd be able to offer his assistance. He quickly spotted a bunch of Jedi already, working around the Temple entrance while others were planning how they'd get involved. But just seeing how committed they all were to restoring an old piece of History was inspiring.
Quietly as always, Kyell then made his way over to the entrance of the Main Temple structure. Along the way, he'd bow his head respectfully to those he passed, but no words were spoken. Just simple gestures and kind smiles.
Where to begin.
Staring into the barely lit Temple, he decided to move for the long staircase that circled all the way down. He wasn't sure what he'd find down there, but all rooms had to be explored, right?

A deep frown set in on Ara's face as she frowned up at the giant who stole her cigarette out of her mouth, only to speak up with a snarky comment. "Smartass." She grumbled as she turned to look at the other arrivals. One of them looking more like a bad combination between a comic book character and a grease monkey than a Jedi. Her mouth parted for another remark but his introduction threw off her train of thought. "Greas- I mean... Ara Sheridan." She spoke up as she scratched the back of her head.

She was starting to feel overdressed.

Her gaze turned back to the giant as he explained some details for the mission, laying some emphasis on the local plant-and wildlife as he looked at her. "Dangerous stuff, huh?" She drew a pistol from the back of her trousers and checked the safety before tucking it back in. The lightsabers on all their hips were starting to brew some jealousy now. "Alright then let's get this show on the road. So... all I gotta do is find stuff that look important, right?" She asked the group... though they already looked ready to depart.

With a huff she turned to venture deeper into the temple, reaching into her pocket for another smoke... a nearby plant dissuaded her from following through on that idea. Two other girls( Iris Arani Iris Arani , Briana Sal-Soren Briana Sal-Soren ), both padawans, by the look of it, were already busy checking something out. "Yo, what's up... do y'all know what the research dudes need to look for?" She asked with a hushed voice. Sure, she knew what holocrons looked like, as well as the importance of them... but what about the rest? She really wished that Master Sol'yan was with her now. Another person approached(Kyell Laysel ), at least he was not as tall as the other guys. "Hey dude... uh, what team are you with?" She asked him as she turned to face him.

Kyell looked down the dark staircase that seemed to spiral on forever and began to wonder if it really had been a good idea to move around alone. As much as he preferred not to be surrounded by large groups, this place had something creepy to it, and weren't there dangerous animals and plants on this planet?
With debris from the ceiling and walls covering parts of the steps, and vines growing out into the path leading down, there was some risk he'd have to accept as well. Come on man, can't make a fool out of yourself already. He sighed but having turned inwards a little too much, he had not noticed a Padawan approaching him.
When he finally realized the Zabrak had asked him a question, he blinked and offered an awkward smile — he was always a tad strange and uncomfortable around others.
He then briefly opened his mouth, as if he were to try and speak, only to close it again and point at himself with his index finger. With a nod of his head, he gestured down the staircase, trying to explain that's where he was heading. Kyell always hated this part. Explaining to someone that you can't talk is harder than it seemed.
And there was always the feeling that first impressions led to him being seen as a weirdo. At least, until they understood.

It was amusing, certainly to see the discrepancy in appearances of everyone who had joined them. Kahlil, of course, was the tallest, but only a bit less than a head taller than herself. The others all seemed very young, and either defiant or tentative. She couldn’t entirely work out any reason why, but it was a bit odd. Another Jedi in a jacket introduced himself. She was fairly sure she’d heard of Dagon Kaze, or perhaps had even briefly met when she was helping build the foundation of what would eventually become this current New Jedi Order.

“Alana Sunrider,” she said in reply, introducing herself. “And the second floor, by the archives you say?” She repeated what Kahlil said to make sure she got it. “Well I can go check it out and see what parts we need to get it patched up and running. Probably some fuel sources as well.”

Crimson eyes watched the people, her presence unnoticed as her timid smile faded.

There was a break as Kahlil went up rather than down. She watched silently as everyone broke off to do their own things. Remaining silent, she tossed the glowing stick off the side of the landing pad and softly walked around the groups.

Holding the bags close to herself, she brushed past Ara and Kyell. Nothing about her making a sound as she slipped past without looking to either of them. No greeting, face forward and uninterested.

Her hand slipped into the bag as her feet danced along the stairway. A glow stick snapping in her hand as she lit the way down.

"Alana." Dagon repeated with a nod memorizing the name before shifting his attention to the task at hand. There was a lot of work to be done.

Turning his head to the padawans around, a pang of pain hit his chest reminding him that his own apprentice had fallen to the dark side joining her father Darth Solipsis Darth Solipsis . He stood motionless for a moment, grinding his teeth in frustration before he spoke, "We'll need to chart this place. Even if we did have a map - which we don't - it wouldn't account for the current state of the temple. Like Kahlil said, some wings and areas may have collapsed."

A call through the Force opened his back and a few bracelets hovered out until they landed on his palm, he offered it to each of the padawans, "These are handheld sonar mappers, and well a bit more - they'll transfer all the data back to Arthur--" he jerked his head at his wristlink, "--my A.I. It'll also project all sorts of readings for you from the likes of the structural integrity of walls and floors to some details about different items you may find." the mappers had been the work of Yula Perl. They looked crude but the OutRim ingenuity shone through their advanced functionality.

Tapping the buckle of his utility belt to activate its flashlight, he nodded at the passing hovercarts, "There oughta be glowsticks in there if you haven't got any."

"Let's go."

Whoever would hop in on the task, Dagon would take point into the temple. His walk slowed into cautious steps when they were inside.

"Better if we split up, cover more ground faster. Keep in touch through comms."

On their right, the Jedi would find the ancient COUNCIL CHAMBERS. On their left - the SERENITY SPRINGS towards which Kahlil left. A staircase takes one down to the MEDICAL BAY but if they take it up to the 2nd level - a bridge extends to the TEMPLE GROUNDS. From there, on your right, are the JEDI ARCHIVES split into three levels. On the left, the long-abandoned BARRACKS.

But opting to continue forward will take a Jedi to the OLD GARDENS and beyond them the WATERFALL and CAVES.

Kahlil paused in his exit to the spring, glancing back towards Dagon Kaze Dagon Kaze . He blinked. The other Knight had planned this a lot more than he had, but.. Why? Where Kahlil had decided to do this as a gift to Valery Noble Valery Noble and bring back the place she'd lost when she was put in stasis, he.. Well. The spring could wait. Better to map the place out and clear out any potential threats to the Padawans.

So he smiled and looped back, nodding once.

"Splitting up is good, but nobody should go alone. Especially you lot." He pointed over to the Padawans, nodding his head. "Can't stress how dangerous the fauna here are. The city close by has walls for the purpose of keeping those creatures out. Large walls." Yeah, that was enough of a warning. Hopefully.

"If you get trouble you can't handle, call. We're here to fix the place up, nothing is worth risking your life over."

Maybe it was just because Dagon had ended up being so formal that Kahlil did the same. Regardless he fell in line with his fellow Knight, lifting up a sonar mapper to help create the map he didn't think to try and make before.

".. So. This about what happened with your Padawan then?"

Sol’yan emerged from the freighter a few moments after Ara disembarked, the Feeorin’s massive form taking in the scenery before he too descended down the ramp. New Cov was such a serene, yet so dangerous world. A part of him longed for the idea of rebuilding the temple here, for he sensed many natural wonders within the force yet to be rediscovered once again. A party of fellow Jedi had assembled, including a rather tall humanoid who almost stood at eye level with himself. As the seasoned Jedi approached the group wearing his Silver Jedi Master robes. He intentionally hung back a bit; for Ara had come a long way since they had first become master and apprentice. She had emerged slightly from the shell she created around herself ever since the incident involving her mother on Kashyyyk. Her connection with the force was growing exponentially stronger with each passing month, along with her control over her emotions. It had been a long road up until this point, and there was still much work to do; but he was proud of the progress they had made thus far.

As he approached, he could hear the voice of his padawan as she said... things. Sol’yan was not naturally a very expressive person, at least based upon the opinions of those who knew him. Feeorin were a rare sight in the galaxy, and their facial features were foreign enough to in and of itself preclude most other sentients from understanding their subtle facial cues (unless they were really angery, or really smiling wide). Ara had also come a long way in discerning his facial expressions. He didn’t purposefully mask them after all, but he had gained some level of mirth from the unease she felt when he was actually smiling, but she couldn’t tell whether he was massively pissed off or not. Now, he weaponized that and led her along when the muse had struck him, if only to give her some level of payback from the years of patience he had exhibited in her training.

Joking aside, they both had come a long way together. Sol’yan had never had children, nor had he really become close with any extended family in his life. But Ara was the closest thing to family he had. Perhaps one day she would even be a respectable Jedi. But by the force - did she need to keep asking what the ‘weather was like up there’? He fought the urge to reach up and palm his forehead as he joined the group at her... question, and gave a semi-apologetic expression to the Jedi Knight she directed the question to. ”You will have to excuse my apprentice. We are working on her... tact.” At over seven feet in height, the Feeorin still towered over everyone else assembled. But it took less effort to meet the Jedi’s eyes as his booming voice resonated in the Knight’s direction. ”I am Jedi Master Sol’yan of the Silver Jedi Concord, and my apprentice and I are here to assist in your efforts to recover what can be recovered from these ruins. If you will have us.”

He gave a respectful bow to them all, and his eyes returned to rest upon Kahlil. Something felt... off about him. Even with the razor-sharp attunement Sol’yan possessed within the force, he couldn’t quite place what exactly that was. He had no reason to think anything untoward about anyone present, so for the time being he would simply observe and join both himself and his apprentice to the party so as to hopefully be of use. ”We are but respectful guests to your operation. However we can assist, we will do so.”

Alana nodded, running her hand along the wall, seeking out any sensation of electricity or power that still lurked within the walls. None that she could find yet, which meant the building was long dead. She waved to the Jedi Master from the Silvers, "Nice to meet you, Sol'yan, good to meet you."

She unslung a datapad from her utility belt and adjusted the scanner to check for any currents or electrical infrastructure. It would be tricky to see if any of it remained or if it had all corroded away. She picked her way down the hallway, pressing against the wall as she looked up to gain access to the second floor.

"Terrible place for a generator," she murmured, "Too unstable, but at least there will be light."

The inside of [some of] the temple was calm, and quiet, well, was now anyway. Earlier? Not so much. Rhemti could barely believe just how many of New Cov's creatures had made their homes there. He'd just spent a good hour or so seeking them out, calming them and then sending them on their way back out to the jungle, doing what he could to avoid conflict with them; thankfully the majority had been smaller, more fearful, though there were some that required a tad more focus on Rhemti's part.

The red skinned Nautolan made his way up that long dark staircase towards Kyell Laysel and Ara Sheridan Ara Sheridan , his expression shifting quickly from that of surprise to overwhelmingly mischievous glee as he waved, having paused in his step.

"Hey! I thought I felt something; didn't realize I'd missed the debrief, sorry about that." Rhemti finished his path up the stairs, coming to a stop at the landing as he looked between the Zabrak and human, his grin wide and his aura more than friendly. "Here to help with the recovery?"

The dude didn't seem very talkative... at all... and she was starting to wonder whether he was just shy as hell or a mute. At this point she wouldn't be surprised by either, though the former seemed more realistic with past experiences when it came to other padawans. She looked at him and then down the stairs as he pointed, at least understanding what he meant with the gesture.

"So... recovery team?" She asked, pausing for a moment before a sigh of relief escaped her. "Thank kriff, I don't got a clue what to look for." She admitted as she tugged at her robes. Even after such a long time, it was still awkward to wear stuffy clothing like this. What made it worse was the fact that she and her master stuck out like sore thumbs with their posh robes among the other Jedi. "I hope you do, otherwise..." A new arrival drew her attention as he came walking up. It took her a second or two to realize what he was. The Nautolans she was used to seeing never looked as approachable as this dude.

"Hell yeah. Me, him, I think those two as well..." She gestured to Iris Arani Iris Arani and Briana Sal-Soren Briana Sal-Soren with a quick nod. "... And then my master. He's supposed to be here somewhere." With a slight frown she reached into her pocket for her commlink. "He's likely still at the landing pad, doing the formal greeting thing. I just hope he didn't see me smoking." She muttered as she opened a channel to him. :: Yo master, we're ready to move deeper into the temple. You coming? :: She asked calmly as she looked at the others.

She was about to give her master directions when a frown settled in along her features. "Wait... do you guys hear that? It... it sounds like... singing? Or whistling?" She muttered, her hand reaching in behind her robes to grip her pistol tucked into the back of her trousers. "Huh... now it's gone. I can't be goin' crazy already. Still got a good ten years to go before that can happen." She grumbled.

”I am Jedi Master Sol’yan of the Silver Jedi Concord, and my apprentice and I are here to assist in your efforts to recover what can be recovered from these ruins. If you will have us.”

”We are but respectful guests to your operation. However we can assist, we will do so.”

"Good to have you, Master Sol'yan." Dagon nodded a greeting back, then lightly tossed a sonar mapping bracelet at the large Feeorin Jedi. " Catch; we're charting the place out. The bracelet's a scanner." he didn't need to explain any further, it was a straightforward business - get a map of the ancient temple was a good start to any restoration efforts. Beyond that - like Dagon's own contingency plans for New Cov weren't needed to be known. Not until the place started to look more like a temple and less than ruins taken over by the local fauna.

But someone else was already solving the puzzle on his own accord, ".. So. This about what happened with your Padawan then?" came Kahlil's voice from his left.

Dag's face remained static, nearly waving off the question by playing the fool with a 'this?', but instead he replied, "About what might happen to the Jedi." Kahlil's initial assumption was spot on. Not surprisingly - the Zambrano scion's cursed tale was not any different than his or his twin brother's. Nor any different than Jem's. The fall of his apprentice had been the major driver to begin this, but he'd be lying if he said it was the only motive. To maintain the fight against the Sith, the Jedi had to maintain themselves first. Without backup plans, without contingencies to fall back to - they were doomed to fail.

He still vividly recalled the early graves of all his friends from the Stygian Campaign.

"How'd you find this place anyway?"

Oh god now he was going to have to handle diplomatic things? His gaze shifted to Sol'yan Sol'yan as the Master introduced himself. Right, Silver Jedi. Did Kahlil know him from his time in the Kashyyyk temple? .. Hard to tell, really. There were a lot of people in the Kashyyyk temple, after all. Instead, he just bowed his head, smiled. Did the polite thing that he was supposed to.

"Don't worry about it. I'm sure they all have that phase at some point. I dread when my own reaches there." He chuckled, glancing off to where Ara Sheridan Ara Sheridan had rushed off to. .. And saw his own Padawan Rhemti Totriddiam Rhemti Totriddiam talking to her. Maybe that phase would be sooner than he thought?

Then Dagon Kaze Dagon Kaze took over again. Tossing the Master a scanner. Leading the way. .. He really was worried about something, wasn't he?

"About what might happen to the Jedi."

Their conversation continued as they walked upstairs. Kahlil nodded slowly. There was a healthy level of paranoia to have in this day and age. Jedi were being hunted. If the Alliance fell, the Silvers would be the only bastion for them. And how long before the Sith turned their attention there? Coruscant's temple had already been destroyed. Jedi were dying, getting hurt. Every day more of them fell.

But did that mean they needed to live in fear?

"Mm. Saying I found this place is a stretch. This was Valery's home, when she was still in her time. We met in the city close by and I happened to accompany her here. Nearly got eaten by some of the tigers here, but y'know, not bad for a first date." He stayed friendly. Smiling. But he couldn't help but think something was too off about Dagon. Not that he knew the man that well. Only what happened to his Padawan. Only through Valery.

"Sometimes our desire to protect the ones we love lead us down a dark path. If Jem's mind went anywhere mine did when my father started coming after Valery and I, she doesn't feel like she can be free. And that if she stops him from within, maybe she can be free. Or, it'll be worth dying for." Personal experience all on display there. He kept his gaze forward, more glancing to the scanner in his hand to make sure he was scanning everything he could.

"She's not gone. Just lost. If there's anyone who can bring someone lost to the dark back, it's their master."
