  • System Name: Ikash
  • System Features: Several industrialized moons orbiting around Raykka itself. Ikash, the G-type star named after the first great serpent found on Raykka. MAJOR LOCATIONS

Gadana City
Gadana City is the capital of Raykka and as with most Raykkian cities it is partially build into the very foundations of their planet. In contrast to how other species build up the layout of their cities, the Raykkans prefer to build downwards. The further down you go, the more expensive the sectors get and the more luxurious they become. They are so in demand because of the Raykkans' affinity with tunnels and cavern systems. The higher levels are mostly inhabited by visitors, slaves, lower caste citizens.

The Makesh Cartel
Miles away from Gadana City the ancient foundries and factories still hum in constant activity. It is said that the first Raykkans touched down here first, when they discovered the planet. Now the headquarters of the Makesh Cartel stands on the site of that first landing. Around it is the heavy industry that first allowed the Raykkans to take control over the planet. Since then the Makesh Cartel has become the de facto controlling agency of the Raykkans. Every business started, continued or expanded in the Ikash system is either owned, controlled or influenced by the Makesh Cartel and most Raykkans can be considered employees of the Cartel.

Dalkay Enclave
Not much is known about the Dalkay Enclave. Rumors describe it as one of the last places where a slave could find freedom. Hidden deep inside the jungles of Raykkan the journey is perilous: if it isn't the hostile wildlife that might get you, it could be the flora trying to kill you. Once one passes through the jungles... they are in for a surprise as they walk straight into the welcoming hands of the slave overseers assigned by the Raykkans. Yes, the Dalkay Enclave is not real. Perhaps it had been... once, but now the rumors and trails only lead towards further enslavement.

POPULATION

  • Native Species: /
  • Immigrated Species: Raykkans, Hutts, other Hutt space species.
  • Population: Heavily populated
  • Demographics: The planet has a wide variety of Hutt Space species. From Hutts to Twi’leks and Evocii. Raykkans make up the majority of the planet with dwindling populations of the natives
  • Primary Languages: Raykkian | Huttese | Basic
  • Culture: Living on Raykka differs depending on how much wealth you possess. A Raykkan has the ability to fulfill any and all of their desires, at any time of day. They may go to a gambling house, watch violent sports, go to expensive restaurants to dine on exotic meat and beverages. Others... are less lucky and toil their days away in factories and other production facilities to facilitate the needs of the higher classes.
GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: Corporate Plutocracy
  • Affiliation: The Raykkans
  • Wealth: High. The Raykkan's life is centered around the acquisition of wealth and power in that order. They are highly successful at this and this is shown in the many civilized settlements of Raykka, whereas the surrounding areas are wild and the wilderness frontier uncomfortable, the underground cities of Raykka are filled with entertainment, debauchery of every form and endless joy. As long as you have the money for it, of course.
  • Stability: Medium. There is a rigid hierarchy in place that theoretically ensures everyone knows their place, but in practice... it is anything but rigid. It is a society based around the acquisition of wealth, power, strength and reputation, and the Raykkans are willing to do whatever it takes to get what's theirs. They will murder (through intermediaries, of course), betray, sell-out, enslave and exploit anything and anyone, if that means climbing the ladder. This means that existence is stable, until it's very much not.
  • Freedom & Oppression: Raykka is paradise for those at the top and hell for those at the bottom and (arguably) in the middle. The wealthy Raykkans pursue their carnal pleasures with no limitation, they may do whatever they want, whenever they want and there is no one stopping them. Being on Raykka as a non-Raykkan is a constant threat, unless you either a) enjoy a good relationship with an upstanding Raykkan citizen, b ) have enough wealth that the normal rules don't apply to you, c) are a species either condoned or even accepted as... if not equals than at the very least above the common trash.
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
  • Military: Ikash is one of the few heavily industrialized systems in their region and as such possess a sizeable fleet. Most of this is centered around the expeditionary doctrine- focused on finding and acquiring more worlds. Their armies consists of slaves, conscripts and sizeable portions of Ikash citizens serving as professional soldiers.
  • Technology: Upper Outer Rim with Core standard technology pervasive through the fabric of the society.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Much of the Raykkan history is shrouded in mystery and four-hundred years of complete darkness. The shreds of knowledge that exists is jealously guarded by their Queens and the few Raykkan males who have become powerful enough to rival their queens. It is widely accepted in their society that the Raykkans evolved and matured on the world of Varl, underlining their shared heritage with the Hutts. They preferred to live in isolation, deep cities underground where their eyes were sheltered from the brightness of the twin suns of Varl.

No one truly knows what caused the devastation of Varl, but the result was clear to all: the spread of the Raykkans into the wider region of Hutt Space.

They found a new home for themselves.

Equally lush, rich in biological diversification and resources, simply beautiful. Above all, it was not inhabited by any spacefaring species. Instead there were several indigenous species living at peace with nature around them.

Any other species might have tried to be a pleasant newcomer for their new neighbors.

But this was the first time that the Raykkans had no competition.

They started amicably. Forging bonds of trade and friendship with the surrounding species- offering novel technology to increase comfort, while receiving seemingly mild concessions in return. From the rights to this mountain with mineral deposits to the forests with tasty animals thriving in them.

Inch by inch the Raykkans took and took.

Their industry grew and with it their appetite for control. Jobs were offered to those same species, slowly infringing on their rights as they were accepted, until after a few generations the Raykkans were the undisputed rulers of Raykka.

Presumably it had a different name before their arrival, but as with all other things the Raykkans put their own stamp on it.

To rule. To own. To administer and exploit.
