OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Name: Raxus Relief Gas
  • Manufacturer: Leviathan Ring
  • Affiliation: Confederacy of Independent Systems and Closed-Market
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Mass-Produced
  • Material: Magnesium Oxide, Sodium Carbonate (active ingredients), and Purified Water (inactive ingredients).
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
  • Classification: Chemical and Medicinal
  • Method of Consumption: Recommended for external use only. However it is safe enough* for inhalation, ingestion, or contact with open wounds at relatively low concentrations. The effect is immediate and only remains active when exposed to air for seconds at a time.
  • Average Life: An Acid Neutralizer, the effect is indefinite. If inhaled, ingested, or exposed to open wounds the ingredients will be quickly purged by an active renal system.
  • Nutritional Value/Allergies/Side Effects/ Purpose: There is negligible nutritional value. If inhaled, ingested, or exposed to concentrated quantities of the gas the exposure may result in eye or throat irritation, indigestion, and diarrhea.
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Dispersion - The active ingredients can be aerosolize to more rapidly distribute the alkaline substances.
  • Non-Toxic - Non-Toxic to organic lifeforms.
  • Personal Use - Supplies civilians and military personnel alike the peace of mind knowing any personal exposure to acidic compounds can be quickly treated with over-the-counter packages of Raxus Relief Gas. Often purchased in small palm-sized pouches you can slap on, or stored in fragile containers (e.g. glass bead) to be shattered for localized cloud coverage.
  • Industrial Use - Sufficient stores of the gas can be used to constantly shroud equipment or structures in order to prevent damage resulting from exposure to corrosive or acidic environments.
STRENGTHS
  • What A Relief It Is - Neutralizes acidic or corrosive agents on contact.
  • Safe For Use Around People - The gas is non-toxic to organic lifeforms.
  • Multiple Dispersion Methods - The gas can be contained and dispersed by a variety of means, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Small patches are useful for keeping on-hand for rapid, single-site exposures; while aerosolized versions can be useful in protecting much larger areas from acidic damage (but requires substantially more gas in proportion to the size of the area to be effective).
WEAKNESSES
  • Equivalent Exchange - The more concentrated the exposure to such substances, the more concentrated or prolonged the exposure to the gas will be needed. Neutralizing acids or corrosive compounds requires a chemical exchange, which requires the two substances to come into direct contact.
  • Cloud-like Dispersion - While you can place the gas into a smoke-bomb like container for single-person whole-body exposure to the gas, it will not be as effective as a patch that is broken open directly over an isolated exposure site.
  • Industrial Storage - While most variants of the gas are not flammable, a company or vehicle storing and utilizing Raxus Relief Gas in bulk should be careful. Storage tanks are under pressure and could rupture if damaged.
  • Residue - Frequent and repeated or concentrated exposure may leave a white residue on the exposure site.
DESCRIPTION
* This statement has not been evaluated by the Confederate Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Raxus Prime and Falleen's own Yellow District were once consumed with corrosive and toxic substances; handled both in and outside of factories and plants on their respective planets. While certain metals, protective shields, and other protective gear helped mitigate the threat to personnel and equipment, a substance able to be rapidly deployed to a large area was needed as both preventative and emergency counter measure. Being quite familiar with the dangers of industry, the Falleen developed the Raxus Relief Gas -- named after someone else's world, naturally -- for their own use, and for resale.

Even before the Confederacy of Independent Systems established relations with Falleen, certain members of the Falleen Financial district were marketing this gas for military and law enforcement purposes to other governments. Faced with countless dangers both natural and man-made in origin, should their people not be prepared? From there they went on to begin marketing certain brands of self-contained pockets of gas to households throughout the galaxy for personal use. Why wait to see a Doctor if Little Timmy is exposed to acidic blood when you can slap a packet on the hole about to burn through the little tyke?

While the consumer market isn't making hand over fist, the industrial and military applications keep the credits flowing. How effective is it? Well, how much Raxus Relief Gas did you purchase?
