SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Extremely powerful thrusters and repulsors powered by a Micro Isotope-5A Reactor offering a near limitless supply of power. This allows for the capacitor system in the thrusters and repulsors to constantly charge allowing for much longer flight times than standard jet packs.
  • Combined use of ion/hydrogen thruster engines and repulsorlift technology allows for maximum flight efficiency. This is achieved by the repulsorlifts not only assisting the pack in flight, but also directing the jets from the thrusters to increase their ability to generate force in the desired direction of flight, minimizing fuel and force wasted in flight.
  • Has low power stealth mode for normally parachute based troopers to allow for them to have the same radar signature as someone who is using a parachute, with none of the drawbacks of having a parachute. This is achieved by the repulsorlifts and thrusters only doing a minimal deceleration during the soldier's fall to the ground ensuring a soft landing, and a stealthy arrival. This also has the added benefit of paratroops now having a jet pack they can rely on for later operations if need be.
  • Main nozzles of jet pack pivot allowing for increased maneuverability, and several other maneuvering jets can be incorporated with armors alongside more repulsorlift nodes. This ensures that this jet pack can also achieve space flight with ease as the ion engine technology gives users the ability to maintain constant thrust.
  • Ability to swap between low power stealth mode for drops into enemy territory, medium power for space flight ensuring limitless operation time for the pack, and full power for planet side operations which has a considerable flight time but is still limited.
  • Capacitor system is a dual capacity both energy from the Isotope-5A reactor and hydrogen gathered both from the atmosphere or stored in internal tanks. During space flight hydrogen injection is disabled as Ion Engines do not require their use to maintain flight. In atmosphere hydrogen can be harvested from the very air to fuel the capacitor system to ensure a near limitless flight time, only having to stop to charge the capacitors.
  • Advanced users will be able to control the output of the engines and repulsorlifts in atmosphere, essentially giving them a throttle. This means that someone could theoretically fly for an extremely long period of time with these jet packs, however reducing their overall speed to match consumption, or use it for short quick bursts of speed and flight as they have the pack give it everything it has.
STRENGTHS
  • Exceptional power to weight ratio: Power generation of this platform is second to none, being based on the very same concept of combination engines used on fighters and heavy gunships. This jet pack is a miniaturized version of those very same engines and that it is utilizing both conventional thruster technology and repulsorlift technology makes it that more effective than your standard pack.
  • Exceptional maneuverability: The ability of the thrusters to vector alongside the repulsorlifts allowing this jetpack to make even more extreme maneuvers makes this pack exceptionally maneuverable. This allows for users who are skilled in the use of this pack to be as agile and fast as their body will allow. And yes, you read that right, as their body will allow.
WEAKNESSES
  • Very difficult to control for new users: This pack is extremely responsive and powerful. Most people are not going to be used to the level of power this jet pack can put out so they'll have to reduce its output to ensure safe operation. You're gonna need some time to figure out all of the control surfaces, because this jet pack doesn't have an onboard computer to make course corrections. Meaning that if you mess up, you won't have time to correct before you smash into a ferrocrete wall.
  • Sustained flight mode is less powerful: The mode that actually has sustained flight for this system is more lethargic than your standard jet pack. And while this gives the system more flight time, it means that if you want to get the most out of this you're gonna have to figure out how to cycle it through various power settings.
DESCRIPTION
One of the biggest problems for rescue teams in the aftermath of the Surric Civil War was that a lot of the terrain and wreckage had become simply impassable to rescue crews attempting to perform search and rescue operations in the war torn planets of the system. Normal travel on foot or by vehicles were made impossible by the sheer amount of wreckage and destruction. This meant that soldiers and citizens in air ships or on jet packs had to spear head rescue and recovery operations on these worlds. Facing a severe lack of supply for jet packs, Freebirds Industries decided that they would address this problem by making their own. They set about to making this jet pack easily produced with in house technologies and more mobile and longer ranged than standard counterparts. Drawing from their FIE series of engines, specifically the FIE-1, they decided on a combination thruster/repulsorlift pack to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of thrust, while still maintaining speed in bursts of faster movement when needed to traverse several hundred meters. This jet pack while requiring some familiarization and training to get the full use of its abilities was still a far sight better than its standard counter parts and a welcome addition to not only any rescuer's toolkit, but even any soldier's.
