Role: Ship’s Mechanic | Co-Pilot

PHYSICAL INFORMATION
Age: 4
Model: R9-Serieshttp://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/R9-series_astromech_droid Astromech Droid
Appearance: Rowdy is an R9-series astromech with a domed head fitted with his communications systems, sensors, and photoreceptor. His coloration changes often, though it is normally green and white, stained with grime, soot, and oil he happens to spill on himself while working on the ship. He has the same zero-gravity maneuvering rockets found on many Astromechs, built into his legs.

SOCIAL INFORMATION
Name: R9-T1 | Rowdy
Loyalties: Resistancehttp://starwarsrp.net/groups/1050-the-resistance/ | Laira Darkhold
Notable Possessions: Ghostwave Communicatorhttp://starwarsrp.net/topic/121948-ghostwave-communicator/

Personality: R9-T1 is a cynical droid, as his personality matrix has been allowed to develop without memory wipes and he keeps a backup saved somewhere in a secure part of his memory in case Laira were to take up the habit of doing so. He is most often grouchy and sardonic, having a short temper, and while he doesn’t refuse orders he normally responds to them with snide and sarcastic remarks while carrying them out, sometimes throwing things at crew members if they upset him. His mischievous side most often shows itself by him playing pranks on crew members such as locking them out of their quarters or turning the water temperature down while they were showering.

Rowdy is protective of the ship he spends much of his time repairing and fine tuning, and of Laira, considering himself less property and more her companion. Rowdy is not above leveling threats, normally empty ones, at people who mistreat his ship or wrong his friends, sometimes manifesting as jealousy.

Combat Function: Rowdy can operate one of the weapon systems as well as some dedicated battle droids, and can manage as a co-pilot if necessary. Off the ship, he has few options in regards to combat, but might be able to get himself out of a jam in the right circumstances.

Strengths:
  • Solid Pilot: T1 is a capable pilot when necessary, able to operate a ship well enough to make due and able to man the guns as good as most more articulate droids and some sentient beings.
Weaknesses:
  • Unarmed: Rowdy isn’t equipped with any conventional weaponry or defenses, just tools.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
R9-T1 was assembled in 847 ABY by Industrial Automaton on Nubia for use by the Galactic Alliance as they continued to secure the core regions from the One Sith. T1 ended up working with Mon Calamari Shipyards on the MC120 Resolute project as a maintenance droid, helping construct one of the vessels for the Galactic Alliance. When the vessel was deployed as a rescue ship to Thyferra, T1 was still working upon it and helped remodel it into the RNS Solemn Purpose after the Resistance declared itself upon the vessel.

T1 was repurposed to the Jedi Remnant since his model was newer and he was in good working condition, placing him into the reserve pool to be issued to Jedi pilots in need of an Astromech droid for their X-Wings. Memory wipes were regular, especially to attempt to remove his increasingly stubborn personality programming, however the R9 Series had hidden away a backup copy of his personality within his memory to preserve himself and kept a full memory backup hidden in one of his compartments. Many refused to use him, leaving him within the reserve units while others were regularly cycled through.

Eventually the reserves began to trim down and he was issued as a mechanic to RESINT Agent, Laira Darkhold aboard her Rebel Outcast freighter as a mechanic to make space for other, more acceptable droids to be kept for the Jedi Remnant. While many others within the Resistance had treated him as a simple droid or property, much to his surprise, Laira treated him as a member of her crew and never scheduled a memory wipe as she found his antics and verbose insults more amusing than annoying. The redhead named him Rowdy given his pension to throw things at her when she upset him.
