OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a leader of the Vanr faction that followed Carnifex to Panatha after Dromund Kaas had been ravaged by the Mandalorians
  • Role: Queen of the Vanr
  • Links: N/A
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Age: 65
  • Force Sensitivity: Yes - Master
  • Species: Vanr
  • Appearance: Powerful and statuesque, Queen Gordana is the pinnacle of her species' strength and grace. Her light crimson skin, native to a large majority of her people, is accented by golden tattoos primarily in the shape of a triangle over the center of her face. Her tall imposing body is complemented by large bat-like wings that sprout from her shoulder blades, which are kept furled and compact against her body when not in use, but can unfurl at a moment's notice. Long black hair cascades down from her horned head and is separated into thick braids kept tight by crimson leather bands. Her face, while hard and angular, does possess a slight fey softness accentuated by naturally plump lips, elongated ears, and large expressful eyes that glow with bright golden pupils and light pink sclera.

Like the rest of her people, Gordana prefers to wear airy and open clothing while she typically fancies a stylistic veil that covers the top and back of her head while leaving her face exposed. The veil is made of the finest silk and is rife with silver ornamentation and jewelry. When the prospect of battle emerges, she does not shirk from the idea of wearing protective armor around her midsection to protect her vitals.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Queen Gordana, Matron of the Vanr, Spear of Highreach
  • Loyalties: The Vanr, Darth Carnifex
  • Wealth: High
  • Notable Possessions:
    Lightweight Battle Armor
  • Sith Spellbook

[*]Skills: Gordana is a master tactician and a brilliant statesmen, able to juggle the responsibilities of an administrator and warlord at the same time. Most of her success comes from natural intuition and an ability to utilize the strengths of others to the best of their ability. The rest of it comes from personal tutelage by Kaine Zambrano's hand, whom she met when she was but a youngster as her people fled Dromund Kaas' devastation. She is also skilled in aerial and unarmed combat, has been taught how to wield a Sith Sword, and has been given what equates to a master-apprenticeship lesson on the Dark Side of the Force and how to control it.

Most of her innate Force skill stems from telekinesis and telepathy, the ability to move physical objects and to beguile the minds of others to do her bidding. She can also Force Choke her enemies and summon Sith Lightning from her fingertips, but her greatest asset lies in the Sith Spellbook given to her by Kaine Zambrano. From this grimoire she has learned how to summon bolts of hatred, lattices of ensnaring energy, and summoning the fears of others to torment them.

[*]Personality: Stern, passionate, and courageous are just but a few words that can describe the Queen of the Vanr. Gordana was raised during the twilight years of the Old Empire, and absorbed much of their Imperialistic rhetoric and firmly believed in the superiority of authoritarianism over democracy and liberalism. When her world was laid low by the Mandalorians she remained resolute in her conviction, emboldening her people to flock to the banner of Kaine Zambrano as he embarked on his exodus to Panatha in the wake of the Old Empire's destruction. Ever since that day she's possessed a fierce hatred of the Mandalorians and their people, swearing vengeance on them for as long as she still drew breath. Her grudge has not wavered in the years since that fateful day.

Since she was elected Queen she has thrown herself fully into ruling her people with a compassionate, yet iron, hand. She cares greatly for her people and often goes to great lengths to improve their quality of life, but often neglects the non-Vanr of Ravaath and effectively treats them as second class citizens. This stems from a great distrust of outsiders, although her heart has been warmed by the Epicanthix and their former God-King, Kaine Zambrano, the same man who had urged her to spur her people to flee from Dromund Kaas as the world crumbled around them.

She views Kaine in a familial fashion, and admires many qualities of his character. Gordana affectionately refers to him as 'diovuil', the Epicant word for teacher.

COMBAT INFORMATION

[*]Combat Function: In battle Gordana flies high above the battlefield, sweeping down to skewer her enemies with her bladed polearm alongside her silver-clad Honor Guard, or remaining out of reach as she casts down coordinated spells alongside winged sorcerers. Her hind talons are capable of shredding through flesh as easily as a hot knife through butter, and she uses this to her advantage to pick up unsuspecting enemies before dropping them from lethal heights. The rare moments when she takes to the ground, she often relies on her Sith Sword to carve up those who oppose her as the polearm is rendered less effective in close quarters.

Gordana is a superior fighter in the air and the open and can use her ability to fly to her advantage for hit & run attacks. However, in more enclosed spaces she is at a disadvantage. Her wings prove to be too cumbersome for grounded fighting, and can block her over-the-shoulder vision. The wings are also an obvious target thanks to their size, and a well-placed hit can knock her out of the air or prevent her from taking off if on the ground.

The Queen is a stubborn technophobe, eschewing advanced technology in favor of more archaic forms of fighting. Because of this, she doesn't know the first thing about modern electronics such as blasters, vehicles, starships, etc. She's forced to rely on others to manage and utilize these things for her. Poor eyesight plagues the aging warrioress as well, and she walks with a pronounced limp thanks to the devastating wound delivered to her left leg during the Mandalorian Sack of Dromund Kaas. Walking is often a great chore for her, and she sometimes requires the aid of others or a cane to stay upright.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Gordana was born on Dromund Kaas forty years before the Vanr Exodus, and was raised among one of the most prominent Vanr families of the Old Empire. Her forefathers had been staunch Imperialists, and she was to follow in their footsteps as she was taught to the highest standards of Imperial society. She came to know the upper echelons of Imperial society, familiarizing herself with the up and coming officers and Sith in an effort to cement herself at the forefront of public Imperial life.

Her dreams came to a terrible end when the Mandalorians invaded Dromund Kaas.

They rained fire upon her home, killing millions in a firestorm that swept over the planet and plunged it into nuclear winter. Gordana was one of the few lucky enough to survive, and she would have died in the ensuing pillage had it not been for the Sith Lord, Kaine Zambrano. Zambrano had served as the Sith Emperor prior to the destruction of Dromund Kaas, but he had been deposed on Dac in a battle with the Jedi Council before freeing himself from Republic custody. He had returned to lead his people on an exodus away from the ruined throneworld of the Sith, and at his urging convinced Gordana to rise to the mantle of leader of the Vanr in following him.

For Gordana's actions as a leader in a time of crisis, she was crowned Queen by her people as they traveled from Dromund Kaas to their new home. But in order to earn their new home, they had to aid Kaine Zambrano in securing the throne of Panatha. Gordana served as one of his lieutenants during the Unification War and for her loyalty she, and her people, were awarded the planet of Ravaath. Its mountainous terrain was ideal for the Vanr people, who built the capital of Highreach on the planet's highest mountain peak.

Since then Gordana has ruled justly, and has pledged herself and her people to aid Kaine Zambrano until her dying breath.

As always a submission with lots of flavor and purpose behind it, nice art too.

Need to add a few things, before I can stamp it though. First of, can you detail exactly what force techniques she has mastered? Other than that I am gonna need you to add a few weaknesses in the combat function, because right now she is very capable, but doesn't really have anything to offset that experience and strength.

What exactly did she do?

I'm also going to need another solid weakness or two. Cumbersome wings are fine and all, but that's a weakness of the species, not the character.

She took up the position of leader when no one else would, and convinced her people to leave their doomed planet.

And character weaknesses seem non ancillary in regards to the definition of combat function.

In the definition of combat function in the template, there is guidance stating to include relevant weaknesses. It's the only line in the template highlighted in red.

This is a master-level NPC with knowledge of rare/powerful Force abilities, a high amount of wealth, and a significant amount of influence, so I'm still going to need something to balance all that out.

Added more weaknesses here, I hope these are adequate.
