"PROXY series protocol droid" by Skip Skyhook of Pinterest.com
  • Intent: To provide Zaz with a companion to help him in his journey's as well as train him in lightsaber combat.
  • Role: Zaz's companion and lightsaber style instructor.
  • Links: N/A
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Age: Over 80 years old.
  • Force Sensitivity: None
  • Model: PROXY Droid
  • Appearance: The only thing setting this PROXY droid aside from it's counterparts is that it has almost no holoemitters covering it's body. In their place there are scraps of Mandalorian Iron, pulled from different sets of Beskar'gam by Zaz. The plates are mostly of a dark brown coloration, except the knee plates which are almost completely black.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Name: PROXY
  • Loyalties: Loyal to Zaz.
  • Notable Possessions: Two simply made lightsabers that are generally seen attached to his hip.
  • Skills: Programmed for Lightsaber combat, capable of taking on other forms when his holoemitters are installed, knowledgeable in most common languages.
  • Personality: As most Droids are of his class PROXY is extremely propper by default. Not usually wishing to insult anyone and taking satisfaction from his own knowledge. However, over the years Zaz has had certain tweeks to his personality allowing him to be more bearable and even have a bit more of his own personality input to the droid. PROXY enjoys lightsaber combat training more than anything else, so much so if he has the choice to shut down he would rather spend it in training and keeping his programming sharpened and up to date. Though PROXY has no certain love for Zaz he does have a respect for how the Mandalorian doesn't seem to treat people any better than droid's. Whether it is a good or bad thing is yet to be seen.
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Weapon of Choice: Lightsaber
  • Combat Function: PROXY is knowledgeable in the 7 main lightsaber combat styles. Though he is seldom deployed for combat he could easily go toe to toe with a Jedi Knight. His programming precision allows him to move and react with the speed of a Force Sensitive. Out of all the forms PROXY seems to show a true mastery of Makashi, most likely because of the nature of the lightsaber forms precise movements and calculable nature. While PROXY is skilled in most lightsaber combat forms he has almost no ability to account for The Force in combat. His processing unit unable to be effective in a reactive manner he can only adapt to what he has seen, most force attacks for the first time will result in havoc for the droid.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
No one can really trace how this particular PROXY droid was released into the open market but in recent years the Droid was sold to a crime boss, Zaganda the Hutt. Utilizing the droid as an assassin the Hutt found himself flowing into riches far faster than anyone could guess. With the ability to disguise itself as nearly any humanoid it wished, mixed with impressive lightsaber skills, the Droid posed a threat to any who stood against this Hutt.

Over the years competitors began realizing if they wished to have a chance against Zaganda they would need to destroy PROXY. So a clan of Mandalorians were hired to destroy the droid and kill Zaganda. Clan Tal'verda accepted the contract and made way to Nal Hutta. Because of Zaganda's isolation from the other Hutt's it was undoubted there would be any backlash from killing the Hutt, since he was often seen as a wild card to the cartel.

The attack was fast and unpredictable. Commandos from Clan Tal'verda infiltrated the Hutt's palace, severing his communications, destroying his escape routes, and killing his guards before he even knew what was happening. Zaz, one of the commandos on the mission, was charged with destroying PROXY while he recharged. When Zaz found the droid he was more than interested in it's capabilities and thought the clan could use it as an ally.

Rather than destroy PROXY Zaz destroyed a different droid in his place and had PROXY's programming changed, marking himself as his new master. With that the Hutt was killed by the clan and they escaped with little casualties. When asked what became of the PROXY droid Zaz produced the destroyed remains of the substitute droid, claiming that was all that was left.

Hey there. This seems like an interesting NPC, however I notice that you've used the Individual NPC template. We have another one intended for droids.

Please update the template used to fit the one designed for Droid Companions.

They are fairly similar so what you've written is still relevant, however fields such as "Model" should be included.

Thanks

I'm fine with that.

How considerable are these Beskar plates? In one place they're described as 'a few scraps' and in another referred to as 'knee plates'. How much does it cover? And with the absence of holoemitters, would that not impair the droid's ability to take on different shapes?

Dev threads have been abolished, but missions still needs to be completed for Restricted Materials. To allow the use of beskar the requirements are:
"Objective: Perform a mining operation, a raid, an excavation, or steal to obtain Mandalorian Iron Ore from any of the following planets: Mandalore,Concordia, Echo'lya –OR— inflict a devastating defeat on a Mandalorian character and have them verify it. "

Thanks

Alright! Putting this up for archival until then. PM the Codex Admin or RPJ to have this taken out when you're ready to have this judged.

This has been sitting in the Pre-Codex with no apparent changes made for over two weeks. I will give this until Sunday before it is archived again. Please tag me in the meantime if you get things squared away.
