Strengths
  • Modernized: Gone are the bulky precedents of the early Dark Trooper armor, instead re-purposed and refined to better suit the contemporary methods of warfare and to provide a more agile and nonrestrictive possibility in high stress situations. While still classified as a heavy armor (chiefly due to the weapon systems and various implementations) the IMPERATOR class prototype explores a lighter and more versatile approach to the concept of power armor, opting for movement and flexibility to increase survival chances and to emphasize on a wearer's lethality. Furthermore the armor itself is personalized to an operator's bodily proportions to ensure comfort and more natural reflex/response to external matters.

  • Second Skin: While still in a more conceptual phase, the IMPERATOR class prototype offers a complete neural link with the operator, allowing them to function within the suit as if it were an extension of themselves, increasing external awareness and faster reaction time to the dangers possibly faced in the brunt of war.

  • Electronically Sealed: To prevent the scavenging of experimental technology on the battlefield, it was deemed a fundamental rule in the design of the IMPERATOR class prototype to electronically seal the armor once it becomes activated by an operator. This is accomplished via specifically trained officers known as Quatermasters, who hold the technology required to lock and unlock the IMPERATOR class armor inside specifically crafted cybernetics. Each designated owner of an IMPERATOR is charged with the personal upkeep and maintenance of the armor, also being biometrically linked with its operator, making it so assigned suits cannot be interchanged among individuals.
Weaknesses
  • Featherweight: Compared to past iterations of the Dark Trooper armor, the IMPERATOR class prototype opts for lighter defensive materials instead of Phrik plating - using reinforced duraplast to ensure increased mobility, but sacrificing the protective properties against heavy weaponry, reducing the potential durability against lightsabers, and increasing the requirement to repair and replace plating and parts.

  • Classified: The biggest and possibly most controversial aspect of the IMPERATOR armor is that it connects to its operator via a neural link that completely integrates with the mind and subconscious, allowing the wearer to experience full control over the suit's intricacies and systems, creating a physical and psychological bond that makes it feel as if the armor is not just a measure of defense, but an extension of the self. This breeds potential for mental trauma and complications when exposed to external stimuli, creating the sensation that the operator themselves are experiencing stimulation outside of the suit. This was purposely designed as such to explore and capitalize on the physiological response regarding fight or flight - opting to force the operator to react in retaliation and extreme prejudice, in a sense, overriding the conscience. Due to the enforced intimacy of the neural link, operators may re-experience repressed memories, alteration to personality such as increased hostility, emotional fatigue, increased desire for isolation, as well as an increased psychological dependency on being linked with the suit as time goes on - exhibiting characteristics similar to a drug addict going through withdrawal, almost as if they're missing a part of themselves.

  • Thermal Gel: While the thermal gel protection in the IMPERATOR armor allows for the absorption of more direct damage, it also reduces mobility with every hit taken as the gel hardens upon impact. Overtime this can cause difficulty with mobility, inevitably forcing the operator to seek replacement.

  • Baffleweave: While offering protection from sensors/scanners, the effectiveness of the baffleweave cape included as an option does not provide an extraordinary advantage over the measures it's meant to counter - only granting a minor means of confusing and scrambling readings.

Description

Designed as an experiment to witness and record the effects of an intimate correlation between a subject and a reworking of the notorious Dark Trooper program, the IMPERATOR class power armor functions as a means of further understanding the more intricate aspects of trauma after battle, along with serving as a new method of offense for the Empire's military forces. While there have been many refinements to an armor belonging to a time long since passed, there is a devout sense of value and respect for the ambition of the Dark Trooper program and its intention to bring about yet another wonder of Imperial ingenuity.

On the surface it is simply a modernization of a preexisting concept, but beneath its facade as power armor is a darker curiosity of what it would be like to allow an individual to manifest the worst aspects of themselves within something to act as a conduit - a vessel to gradually become filled by a personality reconfigured into a weapon of adaptability through trauma and suffering. To create a soldier and guardian of the Sith way that will exterminate opposition with a fury unlike anything the rivals of the Empire have ever witnessed.

Hello there!

For this submission, as far as resistances go, the armor is a touch unbalanced. My recommendation would be:
  • To lower two ratings down by one each [or]
  • To lower one rating down by one, and add another weakness [or]
  • To add two new factors to the resistance section that are lower than Average rating.

This aside, the submission looks solid and I'd have no qualms passing it along. Let me know if you choose to make these changes!

[member="Darth Metus"] - Lemme know if this works

  • Kinetic resistance has been reduced to an average rating
  • Anti-EMP/Ion resistance also reduced by one
  • Added another weakness regarding the Baffleweave material, giving it a less effective presence/counter towards scanners & sensors.
