SPECIAL FEATURES

STRENGTHS
  • Now You See Me: The ocular augmentations grant the subjects with greatly increased visual acuity, able to resolve fine details at a level and distance far beyond that of most humanoid species. As well, each subject's night vision has been greatly increased, as well as granting them multi-spectrum vision, from the near-infrared up through the ultraviolet spectrum, and in a notable increase compared to the original augmentation scheme, even into X-ray wavelengths; however, the latter puts a high amount of strain on the implants, and can only be utilized for a short while without risking severe ocular damage.
  • Hulk Mode: With large amounts of implanted alchemical muscle tissue and other chemical muscle enhancements, each subject is considerably stronger than what can be achieved by baseline humanity; there are even reports of them engaging in hand-to-hand combat and grappling against species known for extreme strength, such as Wookiees and Annoo-Dat Prime, and matching them, if not exceeding.
  • Can't Stop Me: Many of the augmentations combine to provide a significant increase to the subject's physical endurance. They are extremely healthy, and the cardiovascular and muscular enhancements mean that they can do more and for noticeably longer than unaugmented humanoids; as well, their pain tolerance has been significantly increased, thanks to the pain dampers they were each given.
  • Breath Control Is A Useful Trick: The replaced lungs and heart, biologically grown and alchemically tied into the subject's physiology to prevent rejection or other difficulties, are capable of extremely efficient oxygen transfer, filtering out poisons and other contaminants from air that would leave most beings that breathe in a typical Type I atmosphere coughing and choking, and enable the subject to hold their breath for long spans of time; however, they still don't compare to the total atmospheric scrubbing of a typical breath mask or similar filtration unit, and a Type 2 atmosphere is still immediately deadly.
  • Nothing Goes Over My Head; I Would Catch It: The subject's reaction times have been increased similarly to the GORGON subjects, with similar increased myelination and outright replacement and regrowth of entire sections of the nervous system, in keeping with RiMPack technology.
  • Keen Mind Feat: Cranial neural implants have been put in place to exponentially increase each Project Gamma subject's ability to learn and recall information, relating to every sense they have available; many of them developed near-perfect photographic/eidetic memory, and they are capable of having information directly uploaded into the implants.
  • Jacking Into The Matrix: In tandem with the cranial neural implants, each subject has an implanted Neural Interface Device and receiving cyberjack at the base of the skull, enabling them to directly connect to computers, armour, vehicles, or droids that have the capability to make the connection.
  • Unbreakable: Thanks to the alchemical enhancement of the skeletal and muscular structure, Project Gamma subjects have been described as having 'nearly unbreakable' bodies. An exaggeration, to be sure, but their profound durability, as well as that of their replacement organs, is nothing to laugh at.
  • Autonomy, Guanteed: Thanks to the alchemical nature of many of the augmentations, the subjects that received them do not need to take special supplements and medications, or undergo regular checkups and biotherapies to prevent rejection or failure of many of the implants, increasing their effectiveness in the long-term.
WEAKNESSES
  • Fear Leads To Anger, Anger Leads To Hate: The mental instability that plagued many of the GORGON subjects still exists for the Project Gamma recipients, though it is primarily relegated to general moodiness and a notable increase of negative emotions, be they sadness, rage, overall aggression, or the like; the Sith that spearheaded Project Gamma did not find these particularly disadvantageous, though they can present problems if a Project Gamma subject should lose their self-control, or through mental manipulation be made to lose their self-control, and it presents significant difficulty in engaging with normal social life.
  • Teenager Syndrome: Much like the GORGON subjects, a sense of near-invincibility was noted to be common among Project Gamma subjects. While at times their willingness to dive headfirst into danger could prove a useful shock-and-awe tactic, their lack of response to pain and general refusal to admit to injuries until after an objective was achieved meant that some would put off receiving care until it was too late to save them.
  • Even Tithe Can't Afford It: The use of secret alchemical practices, and the necessary materials required for what was done, made for such an exorbitantly high price on the project that very few powers in the galaxy beyond a massive, centralized state with more funds than sense could ever afford to replicate it.
  • Ravenous Hunger: With all those implants and alchemical enhancements comes a massively increased energy requirement every day. Project Gamma subjects required specially formulated meals and meal plans to ensure they got the calories and nutrition they needed, though most of the time their rations defaulted to ration cubes, energy capsules, or extremely dense nutrient paste, as a cost effective and efficient way to keep them fed. Normal human/near-human foods? They don't quite nearly meet the par.
  • The Light, It Burns!: While nowhere near as susceptible as true Sithspawn, the alchemical advancements mean that each Project Gamma subject carries a noticeable Dark Side aura around them, and they are more susceptible than normal to powers such as Force Light.
DESCRIPTION

Conceived in the years after multiple of the scientists that worked on the GORGON augmentation project for the Death Troopers of the Galactic Empire fled their former home space and joined the Sith Empire instead, Project Gamma was undertaken not only with the express goal of producing multiple super soldiers that could be sent to enact the will of the Sith Lords through both their territory and abroad, but also to specifically improve upon what was done with the GORGON project as well. Some of the major drawbacks noted in the previous project were that the subjects faced multiple issues with implant rejection, necessitating many supplements and biotherapies, the high mortality rate of subjects involved, and the way that the body's natural repair mechanisms were massively overtaxed by what was done.

Luckily, with access to Sith scientists, many of those problems were able to be dealt with through the arts of the Dark Side of the Force.

Of the various subjects within Project Gamma, each who survived to receive the augmentations was between the ages of ten and twelve when it began and fifteen to seventeen once the augmentations were complete, the increased time over the GORGON project being due to the alchemical nature of many of the augmentations. However, it was a great success; not a single one of the subjects experienced implant rejection or uncontrolled mutation. As well, the enhancements ot their physical capabilities met or exceeded the goals of the project, so after a short time of extensive training to get used to their new bodies, the subjects were sent off on their first missions for the glory of the empire.

Despite their effectiveness, in the Sith Empire's fall the Project Gamma commandos were poorly utilized, and many of them found a swift end in the last months of their service. There are a few scattered survivors throughout the galaxy, though it is theorized that it is no more than a scant handful of those originally augmented, which was already a very small number.
