STRENGTHS
+The Negotiator: Being of Alderaanian heritage, and purposely chosen the path of a Jedi diplomat, he is well versed in the ways of diplomacy and negotiation. He will seek a diplomatic option before even thinking of going to war or to use violent means as a solution.
+Psychometric: As with a number of Kiffar-blooded Jedi, Prestor can tap into psychometry. That is, he can read an inanimate object and experience the events surrounding said object. Thus, he can divulge information about an item just by holding it. It comes with some risks, as corpses and items used to commit violent acts tend to hold taint of the dark side around them, and could expose psychometrics to said taint.
+Adept of Defense: Befitting his personality, Prestor has made it his business to learn some of the more defensive lightsaber forms. He seems to favor Soresu, but also employs stances and techniques from Makashi and Shien.
WEAKNESSES
-Pseudo-Pacifist: Having grown up in Alderaanian society, and raised with the Jedi Code, Prestor holds himself to a pseudo-pacifist philosophy. This means that he will seek out the peaceful, non-violent option to a situation until it cannot be pursued further. Thie can put him at odds with more militaristic individuals. He will also not allow himself to kill anyone unless it proves absolutely necessary.
-Sees The Good In All: Due to his adherence to the Jedi Code, Prestor sees the potential of good in almost everyone. Even in adherents to the Dark, he sees the possibility for them to be redeemed or turned away from shadow. This can backfire on him when people are actively deceiving him, and are able to fool him. He is not gullible, however. He only puts his faith in people he truly thinks have no ill intent towards others, or seemingly have the resolve to change.
PERSONALITY
If anything, Prestor is a student of peace. He believes in settling conflicts with as little bloodshed as possible. He sees the potential for good in everyone, and will put his faith in those he considers trustworthy. He is also rather patient as well, as it takes something truly awful for his temper to flair. Yet, if abominable occurrences such as sentient rights abuses have occurred, he will pursue justice for the victims as far as the law and his own code will allow him. He is a well-spoken man as well, having a gift for negotiation and ambassadorial matters, something he prides himself in.
BIOGRAPHY
Alderaan. The world that sparked a rebellion. A planet that, in an instant, was broken by an Empire. In centuries after, it had been reborn - the Force healing its wounds. With Alderaan returned, so did its ancient Houses, including that of House Girard. Their remnants had been among the meager survivors in the Alderaanian flotilla. They had once sided with the House Thul and the Sith Empire of old. No longer, they cried. They saw what becomes of their House when the Sith are involved. A world engrossed in Civil War, the Sith acting as puppeteers. Then a world destroyed by an Emperor who later was revealed as a Sith.
It was to this reconstituted House Girard that Prestorr Girard was born into. His father was the head of a cadet branch. His mother, on the other hand, was Kiffar. The two had met at a relief aid meeting. The two enjoyed each other’s company, a romance that culminated in marriage and their son’s birth. The two Girards name the boy Prestor, after the esteemed Bail Prestor Organa, who is celebrated for his works as a rebel leader and humanitarian. Young Prestor was raised among Alderaanian philosophy and culture, alongside the ideals regarding family that are strong among the Kiffar. When he was a boy, his mother had him undergo the ritual of receiving his qukuuf - the Kiffar markings that denoted clan. It was not long into his childhood that Prestor showed signs of Force potential.
Using the connections between Alderaan and its friendship to the Jedi, Prestor was sent to the Order to master his gifts. For many years, he learned and became an adept in the Jedi Order. Feeling his Alderaanian roots, he chose the path of the Jedi Diplomat. He always saw the opportunity to solve problems through peaceful measures before escalating to fighting. As the Galaxy became more and more entrenched with war, the more he saw a need for those like himself.
He has been largely independent, but once he heard tell of a potential resurrection of the Republic, he has decided to allocate his skills and resources to help bring its democratic values back to the forefront. He does not seek to be a commander for its armies, but rather be its voice to help bring worlds into its fold peacefully.
