<I...don't know,> Valery said when he asked her what she needed. This wasn't really something she had encountered before, so what did she need? Her eyes closed, a deep breath was taken, and she decided to just take it one step at a time. <Their ships are retreating, I think. Back to where they came from, but...> Vera's vision and her own sensed warned her of something.

Perhaps this was more than a retreat.

<They could also be regroupping and we have no idea where.> this station she saw activated in that moment, and at a first glance, it looked like it was able to send ships into Hyperspace. But she knew there was more to it.

They were not jumping to some nearbt system.

<If we can get ships here, we could set up a blockade. To protect the planet and keep these people from getting to other systems.>

Meanwhile, at the bunker, Vera seemed to be recovering from her vision and looked up at her brother with a warm smile, "Thank you, I feel better. I'm...glad you stayed with me and talked to me. I was scared," she admitted with her eyes shifting down to the ground in shame.

"Thank you for not leaving me."

<Then I'll have to collect and repurpose that fleet.>

To think he'd have to go and find the ships he'd hidden away when he fled from the Sith. He grimaced. Darth Carnifex would likely feel quite proud to know his son was mobilizing the Sith fleet. Or, perhaps, annoyed that he was about to repurpose it from the Sith it had been made for.

<If they're retreating, there's no reason to stay up there. But if they're leaving something behind, let me know. I fear they might be trying to eliminate us with a bomb.>

Aris blinked in surprise once he had the door closed, glancing to his sister. Then he brought a smile to his face. Reached out to gently ruffle her hair just as their father had done to him. "I'll never leave you. We're siblings."

<I will help you.>

It didn't feel like a task to handle alone, and quite frankly, she just wanted to help with something that wasn't only personal to him, but would also serve as protection of their home. It'd be good to have another pair of experienced eyes to assess everything with him.

Perhaps she even knew of someone to bring along to help.

<Yeah this group is definitely retreating after what you did to them down there.> She snickered but her amusement was cut short when she noticed something on her scanners. <Hold up, I'm detecting a huge powe surge. It's-> She stopped, as the entire station suddenly shifted into Hyperspace with a huge shockwave released all around it. The blast knocked every electrical system offline in an instant, and sent Valery along with the Bastion and other derelict ships or debris straight into the gravitic pull of the planet.

<Love? A little help here? The Bastion is not responding.> she was not worried for her own life, as there were multiple ways for her to escape, but she wouldn't be able to look her husband in the eyes if she crashed the Bastion.

"I know, I know..." Vera muttered with a pout when he ruffled her hair, much like her mother would when Kahlil messed up her hair. "I'm just not used to it. But it means a lot." She didn't have many friends her own age and those she had wouldn't understand. Not the way her brother could.

"We're going to keep fighting together and helping people, right Aris? Even when we're older?"

<We'll discuss it more when this is over, I think.>

The pulse alone he could see from all the way on the surface, which brought his brow right up in surprise. That wasn't just a normal jump into hyperspace. The concern through their bond as Valery seemed to be freefalling was a whole different subject too. <Force a restart. There's debris coming to the city so I can't help much. She's old, but I did make her factory new so she should just kick right over.>

"As much as we can. We're Padawan's now, and when we have a Master we'll be leaving with them and being apart. But every time we can, we should fight side by side." Aris smiled, patting her shoulder before he stood up to look towards the entrance. There wasn't any more threat, as far as he could tell. But it didn't mean he was going to lower his guard here with the triplets and Vera being so exhausted.

"We'll be fine, though. No matter what."

<Restar? Uh...>

She had done it a million times but now that there was pressure on her, she blankes just a little, but only for a moment. More than anything, she just didn't want to wreck the ship that had been their home, even if it wouldn't really be her fault. Kahlil also seemed more concerned about her freefalling right now, and she supposed that made sense with him not able to help right now.

She would hate being in his position.

<I got it!> she then called out after a quick shutdown and boot-up have her control over the engines again, and only a few seconds before things would have gotten really scary, she pulled up and leveled the ship. Shields came online to absorb some debris impacts, and without even a scratch, she set the Bastion down. <Oh I lovr you so much for those upgrades right now...> she said, sounding like she could jump him for a hug right now.

But she was shaking a little from adrenaline, and sat frozen in her chair for now to wait for him

"Oh, okay...> Vera pouted just a little and looked at her brother. First, Mom and Dad said they wouldn't be with her as much anymore and now Aris too? She suddenly realized just how hard it was on her, and for how young she was, she understood why.

Every time family left is when bad things happened. Dad being gone for years, Mom's capture and the loss of their home on Empress Teta...

She feared abandonment.

"Do you promise we'll be fine?"

<Upgrades?>

Kahlil blinked, finally letting himself breathe after waiting to make sure Valery was able to get the ship down safely. The barrier remained, catching the last of the debris as he stayed centered within the runic circle he'd created. But he did blink in surprise.

<I hadn't thought about getting her upgrades.>

Aris paused as he listened to Vera and watched her. He could see there was something bothering her, but he wasn't sure what exactly it could be. Still, he moved to crouch beside her again and pull her into a hug.

"I promise."

<Oh I thought that's what factory new meant? You know... upgrade some stuf...and things. I'll shut up now.> she was exposing her terrible lack of tech skills more than enough at home, with having to need her children to explain how to turn on the holo-tv and switch channels. It was, of course, yet another easy source of material to tease her with, but at least this one could be blamed on her long stasis.

Evem though tech back then worked similarly, and her stasis had been over 10 years ago...

<Some upgrades might be fun though. What about a hot tub?> she teased, but hey, if he were to say yes, she would love it. The Bastion was more than just transportation to them, so it was worth a shot. Valery then got up from her seat and walked over to the ramp, where she decided to wait for him.

After all of this, she wanted to hug him to death and kiss him, so maybe best not to do that in front of other Epicanthix warriors?

"Thank you, Aris." Vera hugged him tight and looked at him with a big smile. But her fears did linger, and she trusted very few people more than she trusted him, so why not open up? "I just get scared when you guys leave and I didn't see a vision about it. Do...you ever get scared too?"

<Love, you're a pilot. We're going to have to talk more about how much you know about your ships.>

He just shook his head. The barrier finally was released as the chaos of the battle had come to an end. There was far more to talk about with the Epicanthix now that they were targeted by this strange group of invaders, but right now he wanted to get back to Valery's side. And he did, pulling on the Force to just appear beside her and wrap an arm around her shoulder. Pull her into a hug with a bright smile.

"I'm not putting a hot tub on the Bastion, love."

"A little. I'm still.. Getting used to all of this. But I got really scared when you didn't answer me. I couldn't help you, and I didn't know what to do." Aris frowned rather deeply at the memory. Helpless and scared. It wasn't an emotion he liked.

"I guess a lot."

<I'm a fighter pilot!> she grumbled and muttered a few more words that could barely be heard but sounded threatening. She knew how to fly and knew her ship stuff. It was just the heat of the moment, that's all. With a sigh, she decided to give up and not open herself up to even more teasing. She just wanted a hug and-

An arm wrapped around her shoulders to pull her in close for a hug. She smiled, leaned into him, and tenderly kissed his cheek because she loved him so very much.

And to maybe get that hot tu-

"I'm not putting a hot tub on the Bastion, love."

Valery pouted first, then looked up at him with big puppy eyes. "But the kids would love it." She pleaded with a smile almost impossible to resist. But if anybody could, it'd be him.

"...it was worth a shot, right?"

"Really?" That's what scared him? Vera felt her lips trembling and wrapped her arms around his neck for a reassuring embrace. "But Aris, you helped me lots. I couldn't respond but I could hear you, and it made me stronger. You always help me."

"No hot tub."

All it'd take was forgetting to close it one time for the whole ship to end up soaked by the water. They could have one in their home, but certainly not on the Bastion. He kissed her in turn, though not on the cheek, before looking back towards the city. There wasn't any damage, but that was only because of his own preparation and the lack of intel of their opponents. He frowned deeply.

"We've a lot of work to do."

Aris blinked in surprise, but smiled shortly after. He hugged her in turn, squeezing gently before looking to the other children there. They still had to protect them all, until the adults came back. He stood up then, glancing briefly to Seszil. The sword was quiet, but hung close none the less. "You make me stronger too, Vera. Lets keep protecting them all until this is over, together."

"Fine but I can't get the idea out of my head now, so maybe at home?" She already knew that was a lot more likely because of their bond, so with a pretty smile and a kiss on the lips she allowed to linger, she felt quite convincing. "Kids aside, just an evening of you and I in there would be... good~" she said as a whisper after leaning in a bit closer.

But this wasn't all fun and games. Her eyes followed his into the city, where Epicanthix were luckily not returning to flattened homes, but there were bodies to move. Mostly of their enemy, but she imagined it's not what a lot of these people hoped to be doing at their own home again.

"We do and the Alliance will help too. But for now, can we pick up the kids? I want to go to my babies," she took his hand and interlaced fingers, hoping to get him go join her for a walk to the bunker.

"Together," Vera echoed, her tone strong and her confidence unwavering. Though the moment she saw a vision that signaled the end of battle and the approach of her parents, a part of the little kid in her returned, and she quickly looked at Aris.

"Aris! Mom and Dad are coming!" He was guarding the front of the building, so he would be the first to greet them, and make sure it was really them

"Yes."

He smiled a little. They could talk more about hot tubs and what they could do in them later. Right now, he agreed. He wanted to see their kids too. He took her hand in his as they walked, though it was pretty clear the kids already knew they were on the way. Aris stood at the entrance, very ready for a fight with Seszil still hovering close. He smiled wide, though once he saw it was indeed Valery and Kahlil approaching.

Just as Vera said.

"Mom! Dad! Everyone is fine here."

Vera and Aris had done their job here. Kept the people safe. He stood proud, smiling towards them as the pair approached.

"They really took this serious," Valery said as soon as she saw Aris standing there, still ready to fight even with the battle seemingly over. He wasn't going to stand down until his parents arrived, and she couldn't be more proud because of it. So proud, in fact, that she let go of Kahlil's hand and practically ran over to pull Aris into a tight hug.

She then planted several kisses on his cheek, his head and finally rested her forehead against his, "I'm so proud of you." She smiled and pulled back in time to see Vera standing there, squinting at her mother. "Mom, don't do- ahhh!" She giggled when Valery shifted closer anyway to give her the exact same treatment.

But while Aris and Vera were being smothered by momma bear Valery, the triplets walked over and looked up at their father. "Daddy!" They echoed as one, and their little arms went up towards him.

They were mot scared, not with Aris and Vera protecting them, but they wanted their hugs too.

Aris was frozen in surprise at the sudden hug, but he did hide his now blushing face away. And returned the hug shortly after. It was absolutely embarrassing, and yet, it brought such a smile to his face. He liked this, a lot. It made him all warm and fuzzy inside. Not that he made a comment on it. Just smiled and took a step back so Vera could get the same treatment. Family was much, much better than he'd given credit for.

Kahlil rushed forward to pick up the triplets, easily cradling all three in his arms. The twins together in one, Aurra in the other. And just hugged them. They were safe, because of their siblings no less. "Look at you three. Did you have fun in the bunker?"

Valery ruffled both Aris' and Vera's hair and looked at them all proud. They really were growing up fast, and today felt like an especially big step. They had been given a lot of responsibility - more than most kids would ever get - and they had handled it perfectly. All the children were safe, and they hadn't even gotten a scratch.

The triplets also didn't seem scared, and hugged their father not because they needed comfort, but just because they missed him. That was a sign to Valery that they weren't just protected against harm, but comforted too.

"Mhm!" Aeryn nodded at her dad's question. "We played!"

Aurra pointed at Vera and smiled, "Vewa read stories," the young blonde added with a far quieter voice, but a happy one. Vera perked up and looked at her dad, "Aris could easily handle the beasts wifhymy visions, so I played with them and read Aurra her book!" Aurra brightened up even more, and Valery looked like she could pass out over cuteness overload.

"It will take time before everything here is going for recovery efforts. So... maybe we go home, get a bath and then have family dinner and some time spent together?"

"I think that's a grand idea."

Getting home for dinner after a full assault on their people. It wasn't something he expected anyone to be able to do, and yet he didn't expect anything less for them. All of them. He kept the triplets in his arms as he glanced between Vera and Aris. They'd grown well. More than he thought they would.

"Tonight we rest. Tomorrow, we'll figure out the next step to keep the people safe."
