"...wow." Valery wasn't able to say much more than that, as she watched her oldest kids handle the triplets. Along the way to the bunker, they were rallying other kids behind them too, and Seszil watched over them exactly how Valery would want them too. It really made her realize just how much the kids had grown up.

They didn't entirely rely on Mon and Dad anymore, though Valery still wasn't going to just throw them into this fight. She trusted them to protect the bunker and call for help if necessary.

Should things go wrong, Kahlil would now be able to teleport to them in an instant, and bring Valery along through the dyad.

At the same time that Valery made sure the kids were secured, the pods landed and warriors engaged the Epicanthix in a fierce fight - one that was met with a lot more resistance from the locals than expected. They were skilled and coordinated, but the enemy knew it was because of their leaders. Kahlil was heading the main force, while Adonis handled a smaller group on the flank.

And Valery was going to catch up soon.

Realizing this, the Commander of the yet unknown enemy forces summoned one of his greatest warriors. At 7ft tall, he was equal to many of the Epicanthix and his armor revealed a much darker presence. His weapon was similar to a Jedi's lightsaber, but felt more raw in power through its instability.

The figure looked at Kahlil, and issued the Shield of the Jedi a challenge.

Kahlil_Div2.png

Kahlil locked eyes with the figure that chose to approach. A challenge? Kahlil lifted his blade, pointing the green for the taller figure as they walked closer. Waited, just for a moment longer as he saw the man charge. The rune along his spine flared to life as he took a single step to meet them and slashed once. He couldn't affect living things, but the inorganic he could. All it took was a second delay on his strike to send it through the larger figure and cleave them in half.

He stood shortly after, his eyes focused head on the line of enemy troops as his blade came up to harmlessly deflect a shot aimed for him. He raised a hand. Sign was how commands were relayed on the field. They could be seen where orders might not be heard. All forces charge.

The Commander had not expected Kahlil to cut down his warrior so swiftly. He had heard about the accomplishments of the two Jedi Masters, but they were far stronger than he had anticipated even with all that knowledge. He did, however, know they were a family, and those bonds could shatter any form of cohesion when they were threatened.

"Send the hounds
for his wife and children. Leave nobody alive," the commander ordered, right as Kahlil coordinated his forces to charge forward. In return, the enemy's shock troopers moved in to intercept, and a fierce battle began.

A battle where Kahlil felt the threat sent specifically after his family.

In the middle of town, Valery was fighting through the streets alone to pick off enemy soldiers trying to get around the battle to hunt down the young, elderly or sick Epicanthix left behind. She was fierce in her approach, but she didn't yet know about what was coming for her and the bunker.

"They are coming," Vera told Aris before drawing her temporary lightsaber. One she had 'borrowed' from Mom for this defense.

Kahlil_Div2.png

Kahlil very literally lead the charge forward, letting his blade batter away the errant shot before he neared the enemy line. Then, he brought the Force down upon them. Not them directly, but the weight of the Force increased to a degree that their shots could no longer pass by him to hit the now charging Epicanthix. They had already adjusted their own shots to compensate for the drastic and sudden drop off his control over the Force caused.

Leading to a one way slaughter of the enemy front line as the Epicanthix charged forward.

"I know not who you are or why you threaten my people, but all that awaits you now is death."

He lifted his saber, and with it the wall he'd created fell to allow the Epicanthix to stand with him.

"Then we'll have to meet them. Seszil?"

"Yes, young Lord?"

"I'll need your strength. Is that alright?"

The sword floated beside him, hovering near his back where he'd normally be sheathed. "You needn't ask, young Lord." Aris nodded once before looking back to the other children, the sick, elderly. Vera and Aris were among some of the older ones here that weren't old enough for open warfare, but all Epicathix were trained to fight from a young age.

"Arm yourselves. Vera and I are Padawans, we'll protect the entrance. But if something slips by us, you'll have to protect those who can't."

This wasn't going according to plan.

In an instant, the Commander watched the frontlines collapse before him, and his worst nightmare hadn't even happened yet - the Jedi weren't fighting together. But even alone, Kahlil manipulated the battlefield far more than any warrior should be able to. So the only response he had was to meet the Shield head-on with all his abailable forces.

But while making an attempt to shake the man to his core.

"I would have preferred to kill them in honorable combat but we can't allow this to continue," he said as he turned to his communications officer. "Call in the artillery and flatten her." With his command given, a ship up in atmosphere powered up and fired its heavy bolts down into the city. He could have perhaps targeted Kahlil as well, but that would have decimated what remained of his forces and offered him a path straight to the Commander.

"Aris, hurryyy," Vera whined while the people around them listened and armed themselves. "I feel something is-" she stopped as the sky suddenly turned green, and she could only watch as the bolts struck the street down below. A strafing run came right for her mother, who tapped into the Force to move, but the sudden attack was too much. Two huge bolts exploddd near her, sending Valery off her feet and crashing into the ground several meters away. She was alive, that much they'd all be able to tell, but she was laying on her back, covered in dust, debris and some blood, with her eyes closed.

And the hounds were coming.

"Aris! We have to help! Cover Mom and I'll get her back up!" She had learned a bit of healing from Amani, after all.

Kahlil_Div2.png

Danger, but not for him.

Kahlil paused his own charge as he instead lifted his hand up. The Force rippled as the Epicanthix around him charged forward, unyielding even as the sky above began to light up with the incoming bombardment. The Nobles had long been part of the rebuilding of the city, and for good reason. Runes flared along the walls, the very roads. Countless and all intricately designed by his own hand.

The bombardment never reached the city. His barrier, his Shield, stood strong. A sorcerer was at their strongest in their own home.

"Don't run in!"

Aris called after his sister, his eyes narrowed in focus as he scanned around them. It wasn't just the bombardment that had come. Something was close. Seszil was the first to notice it, careening off to the side into a nearby bush in a flash of silver. A pained howl came next before the blade returned, now reddened with blood.

"Creatures. Beasts. They're encircling us."

"Hear that Vera? Be careful! I'll protect what I can, but if they're fast I can't leave the others undefended either."

"Don't run in!"

Vera stopped immediately and turned to watch Seszil handle a beast that had been hiding in the bushes, ready to ambush her. It took her breath away, knowing it could have taken her by surprise if ot hadn't been for her brother. This was real danger, it was scary, and Mom was still slowly pushing herself up to her feet, while Dad luckily made sure the bombardment could not reach them anymore.

But for now, they stood alone. They had to be strong together and extremely careful.

"We have to help Mom! So she can help us!" Vera exclaimed before igniting her mother's old lightsaber. The violet blade crackled, and with a burst of speed, she wss by her mother's side. A beast jumped our at her, but Vera was not scared anymore. Mom and Dad had prepared her for this moment, and she had warrior blood from both parents flowing through her. With one expertly sweep the beast went down and was silenced.

"Mommy? We are here!" Vera called out.

"I know," Valery chuckled, got up, and noticed they were surrounded by beasts. But between Vera and Aris being here with her, she wasn't worried and focused up at the sky. "Let's make sure your dad can't tease me for slipping up." She raised a hand, and the Force screamed as she reached out. The hull of the large cruiser they could see above, pelting the barriers, suddenly cracked wide open and split into two halves under her use of Shatterpoint. Het muscles flexed and with extreme care and precision, she pulled the two halves down to the surface, but where they could cause no harm.

"Woah..." Vera said with widened eyes. Mom and Dad really were something else, huh?

"Vera, focus. Aris needs your help," she said, as she looked at the pack of war hounds closing in on her son. They wanted revenge for Seszil killing one of their own.

"Aris!"

Kahlil_Div2.png

"I'm okay!"

Aris called out in response to Vera, giving her a brief smile from where he stood amongst the other hounds. There was an excitement in his gaze as he met his sisters. The sky above was shimmering with the barrier he knew was their fathers. The burning remains of the ship their mother had torn asunder. He tightened his fists before leaping into the fray. He didn't have a lightsaber like Vera had, but he didn't need one.

The Force flowed through his limbs as he slammed a fist into the jaw of one of the hounds, sending it sailing to the side. Seszil flashed around him, acting as their own barrier to cleave through the hounds in some decent sync with Aris. It was clear this was something they'd been working on, but they weren't too used to fighting together like this.

"We got this!"

The moment Aris drew his blade and had that sparkle in his eyes, Vera was ready to jump in and help him out. But for just a moment, Valery placed a hand on her daughter's shoulder and stopped her. Aris had that Epicanthix pride in him, but she figured he also wanted a chance to prove himself. All Nobles had shown off their skills, and now it was his turn to do the same.

Aris did not disappoint.

Together with Seszil, he cut and punched his way through the hounds, and Valery watched like the proud mother she was. Of course, she knew there was no danger to her son, or she'd be all over him within a nanosecond. No, he was really something special, and Vera admired it too.

"Woah! Go Aris!" Vera called out as she finally did jump in to join him in battle with her lightsaber. "You are so cool!" She encouraged her brother while they moved as a team, and without needing Mom to protect them for perhaps the first time. Valery watched it happen with a smile, but that motherly side of her struggled just a little.

These were her babies growing up.

"Aris? Vera? You two okay?" She asked after the last of the hounds had been slain.

Kahlil_Div2.png

"I'm okay."

Aris took a breath as he flexed his fingers. Frowned a little as he looked at the bruised knuckles he now had. "Their skulls are really tough though." He wasn't used to getting bruised up by just punching something. But they did good, didn't they? He smiled none the less, looking incredibly proud as he looked towards his mom. "You should go help dad. We'll keep the others here safe."

"C'mere," Valery said as she stepped closer to her son, took his hands and lifted them up so she could kiss his knuckles. She didn't care that Vera and the other Epicanthix kids were watching - this was a Mom moment so she was completely oblivious to any form of embarrassment.

"I'm very proud of you and Vera," she then said, as one hand shifted over to brush against his cheek. He had done well, and she knew he would make sure none of the kids were going to get hurt. Together with Vera.

"Alright, time to go help your dad." She smirked, and within that same instant, she stood by Kahlil's side as their Dyad bent space itself to bring them together again. "Missed me?" She teased, her eyes looking around to see how much he had already accomplished with the defenders.

"We need to take care of their leadership. Someone is sending out direct orders."

Meanwhile, Vera turned to Aris and grinned, "There might be more of them coming. Ready to kick some more butt?"

Kahlil_Div2.png

Aris pouted and blushed, but he wasn't going to tell his mother no. He did rub his knuckles shortly after, smiled just a little, before looking towards Vera with a grin this time to match her own once Valery had teleported away. They could handle this together.

"Let's make them proud."

"Always."

Kahlil chuckled as he lowered his hand, letting the barrier flicker out now that the ship was no longer a threat. Around him the Epicanthix were still keeping pressure on the enemy line as he knocked away another shot fired towards him and glanced to Valery with a grin.

"Go get them then, Mrs. Shadow."

Vera had a huge smirk on her face when Aris looked at her after mom's kisses. She giggled teasingly too, but when she noticed other kids looking their way, she shot them a death glare that had them turn away. Not that Aris needed her help, but she would still only allow family to weigh in on the teasing. But only for a moment. They still had people to protect.

"Mhm! I see some stragglers coming our way. Their morale is low so if we hit them hard, we can get them to run easily." She smiled, drew her blade up and stood with her brother.

"Alright, just don't get too excited, hm? Leave that for tonight." She winked and without another word said, she disappeared completely from sight and within the Force. The Epicanthix meanwhile summoned Kahlil back for the final push against the most powerful of their soldiers - their black armor was far more resistant and their skills with weapons far superior compared to the earlier soldiers.

It made no difference to Valery.

"You made a mistake coming here." She stood behind the commander, her expression calm but her eyes burning brightly whole she stared down the man who brought an army to her home. "Tell me, where are you from?"

The commander turned, drew his metal bladed weapon, and let out one chuckle. "From a place far from here. A place you cannot reach."

<Dad? I feel a surge in the Force,> Vera suddenly warned.

<Something is happening.>

Kahlil_Div2.png

Kahlil lifted a hand as he again took position at the head of the Epicanthix. The revelation that the stronger troopers were hiding behind waves of weaker had him being more cautious. Asides, with Valery already handling the commander there was no rush to try and win this fight. Keep his people safe, that was his goal now. At least until he heard Vera speak up to him. He blinked before reaching out to the Force.

<What do you feel?>

"We'll see about that," Valery told the commander before she dashed forward with an attack that bordered on being too telegraphed. But this Commander was no great warrior himself and failed to see it, as he charged forward with a strange bladed weapon of some kind. He lashed out l, but rather than clashing with Valery's blade, he swept only through the air as she phased through him.

Kahlil sent forward Shadow Valery, so that's how she was going to end it. The rear blade of her double-bladed weapon Ignited and exploded through the man's back before he even realized what had just happened to him.

His body crumbled, and Valery steppes forward to retrieve his blade.

<Something big,> Vera said and it was in that very moment that a huge ship appeared out of Hyperspace. It was alone, of a design none of them had ever seem before, and shuttles from everywhere down below went for a full retreat up towards it.

<Babe, the commander is down. Their forces will scatter if you push now!>

Kahlil_Div2.png

Kahlil raised a hand again.

Full retreat.

All at once the Epicanthix forces began to pull back from the front lines, covering one another in the process. Kahlil himself started to make his way back to the city, covering those behind him with his blade. Just as the other ship suddenly appeared overhead. Vera's warning was going to give them enough time to hopefully get back before the ship opened fired and back under his barrier.

<Come back. Vera saw something.>

Aris reached out to tap his sister's shoulder, concern clear in his face.

"What do you see?"

Vera whined and held her head as if it hurt, before she sank down to her knees. The vision was overwhelming, which was a rare thing for her at this point. She yelped, trembled and leaned into her brother for support but it wouldn't go away. It was too intense, and as painful as it was to force herself through it, she did not allow her focus on this vision to fall apart.

It was too important.

<Love! Vera needs help!>

Valery was still far away but began to sprint as she felt her little star struggling. But with Aris there and her dad closing in, she was hopeful that it would be okay. Vera meanwhile gripped into her brother's shirt and spoke through strained breaths, "There are a lot of them, but they are not from here. A different Galaxy but I see...a tunnel." She yelped again and shook her head wildly.

This vision wouldn't stop. Or no, someone was making it not stop.

We see you.

Kahlil_Div2.png

"Vera, stop. Stop!"

Aris was there by her side, practically shaking her to try and get her to stop what she was doing. The drain was obvious, and the young Noble hated seeing his sister in such distress. Worse, he didn't know what to do. He couldn't use the Force like she could, couldn't share that burden she'd taken on herself. Seszil continued to hover close by, acting their shield as he tried to help. "You need to stop! I- I can't help, you just- I don't know what-"

A sudden presence beside him had him panic. Turn to swing a fist.

Only for Kahlil to catch it with a faint smile. He crouched low, reaching up with his other hand as Aris blinked in surprise, then relief. Tears streamed down his face as his father ruffled his hair. "It's alright." He stepped past then, leaning over to gently scoop Vera up in his arms before tracing a rune along her temple. It was a temporary fix, cutting her off from the vision, but she'd done enough now. Kahlil turned, again crouching down before the sniffling Aris. Held Vera out towards him.

"Take your sister back to the bunker so she can rest. Can you do that for me?"

Aris loudly sniffled this time, forcing back his emotions as he looked his father in the eye and nodded. Kahlil's smile softened further as he nodded, passed Vera towards him, then stood up to look up towards the sky again.

"Go, then."

The boy moved, carrying Vera in his arms with ease as the Force pumped through every fiber of his being. He couldn't help her before, but he could now. "It's okay Vera. We'll get you inside. I'll get you inside. Seszil!"

The sword moved quick to get back beside him, hovering close without a word as he disappeared into the bunker.

Kahlil didn't look, but he could feel them both. Once he was certain they were inside he faded from view, forming beside Valery. "She's fine. They have a gate to get here, and we'll need to shut it. Take the Bastion up. I'll keep the city safe. Once you find the gate we'll figure out how to shut it, mm?"

"Vera, stop. Stop!"

There was no response, and the vision - the voice - it just kept going. Vera trembled, squirmed and tried to fight her way out with her brother's help, but she simply couldn't. As mature as she could be, she was still a kid in many ways too. So even with her visions, she had much to learn, and right now it meant she couldn't stop the darkness that entered her mind through her gift.

She was spiralling out of control, heading for a state of purr insanity. But then there was a voice.

"It's alright."

Vera relaxed in her father's arms and that voice already felt muffled even before he traced his rune on her temple. Her father's presence always had that effect on her, and once the rune activated, she snapped out of her hell completely and looked up at him with teary eyes. "Daddy?" She asked, her voice betraying her exhaustion. But even now, there was a smile and she was quick to extend it to her brother when he took her over from her father.

"Thank you, I'm okay now," she whispered softly to assure him and hopefully comfort him as much as he comforted her. Vera's grip on him tightened a little then, and they disappeared into the bunker together.

"Good, thanks love." She quickly squeezed his hand and offered him a grateful smile for helping Vera. He always would, but these were the things Valery would have struggled helping with herself so her motherly relief was there. "You sure? You're the better pilot..."

This was one hell of a moment to admit that, but he was right. His skills as Shield could still be needed down here, so she nodded and ran off to the Bastion to take off and fly up with incredible speed. The dangerous Noble kind of speed.

<There is something big up here, love. A ship...or station. Maybe they use it to make this gate?>

Kahlil_Div2.png

<If they can carry the gate with them that'll be an even larger problem. I can't leave the city, either. What do you need?>

The barrier had been renewed as soon as Kahlil had found himself in the city. Stronger than before at that. Here, in the center of an even more complex runic design, he could keep the barrier going as long as he stayed conscious. The issue was he couldn't leave from where he sat. The Epicanthix were already guarding the edges of the city, making sure that if the enemy tried to infiltrate they couldn't.

But a siege wasn't ideal.

Kahlil stopped a chuckle. <Perhaps I should go get that fleet of mine?>
