With Aurora Industries' modernization program for their ship designs in full swing, Taeli and her engineers decided to revisit one of their aging models. The Bastion-class had been powerful for its day, but that had been years ago now. Modern advances needed to be implemented, with the engineers and designers of Aurora deciding to keep the same frame as the legendary Pellaeon-class.
To that end, all of the ship's systems were redone and rebuilt from the ground up. Designed around three of Aurora's Gravastar+ Reactors, the new ship, dubbed the Praetorian-class as no one liked the name Bastion-II-class, had enormous power potential. The freeing up of space, considering the size of the Gravastar reactors allowed the engineers to expand the hangar bay of the ship to house three squadrons. While small for a ship that size, it was a vast improvement over the Bastion-class and its tiny executive hangar.
More shields and armor were added to the ship, but was really the crux of the advancements, was the weapon systems. Almost all of Aurora's current weapon technology was added onto the ship, giving it a vastly improved firepower over the Bastion-class.
