Podracer Template

So this is quite deliberately aimed at allowing roleplayers writing out a podrace to be able to quickly look across each other's subs and work out who's likely to come off best in certain situations (e.g. stopping before hitting a wall, colliding with each other, speed off the mark)

It's supposed to be nice and simple to judge as it all boils down to some nice general numbers and one figure.

Podracer Rules:

1. All starting Podracers begin with 50 points to distribute across their statistics

2. Podracers may only go above stock stats with development through racing PC opposition

3. Podracers with sponsorship may start with +1 point per sponsor company tier (One company only)

4. Pod racers come in all shapes and sizes but the tether between pod and engine can be no longer than 15m, engines no larger than 10m.
Podracers

Image Source: (Please link the origin and artist of the image you have used, if possible.)
Name: (What is the name of this design?)
Pilot: (Who is the pilot of this podracer?)
Affiliation: (Is the podracer affiliated with a particular organisation or sponsored by a faction or company?)
Manufacturer: (Who made the podracer? Many are hand crafted, it could be manufactured by a Chaos company, or find a canon Podracer manufacturer here)
Material: (What is the podracer made of? Restricted materials cannot be used)

Maximum Speed rating: (On a scale of 0-20 where 20 is around 1200kph and 1 is around 800kph. Big heavy podracers tend to have a low acceleration but reach a formidable top speed)
Acceleration rating: (On a scale of 0-20 where 20 is remarkably nippy and 1 takes a long time to reach top speed.)
Manoeuvrability rating: (On a scale of 0-20 how well does the racer turn at speed)

Air Brake Rating: (On a scale of 0-10 how quickly do the racer's air brakes decelerate it)
Boost Rating: (On a scale of 0-10 Those with a high rating have powerful boosts that can increase speeds by over 30%)
Collision Rating: (On a scale of 0-10 How well does the racer come off in collisions with other pods? This represents how heavy the pods are, how well armoured they are, and if they've got any special design for collisions)
Cooling Rating: (On a scale of 0-10 Pods that keep boosting and maintaining maximum speed tend to overheat. Those with exceptional cooling can keep maintain their top speed and boost more often)

Total rating: (The sum of all ratings above)

Strengths: (Provide, in list format, a minimum of 1 strength of this submission.)
Weaknesses: (Provide, in list format, a minimum of 1 weaknesses of this submission.)

Type of engine: (What type of engine pods does the racer use? These could be rockets, or more simple combustion turbine engines, or something else!)
Secret Weapons: (Are they any hidden weapons in the podracer Note if you get discovered using these, you may be penalised!)
Special Features and Components: (Please list any other special features your podracer has please provide links to any factory submitted components)
Paint Scheme: (Please describe the podracer's colour scheme! e.g. Red with yellow bolts)
Size of Engines: (Please give rough dimensions in metres. Typically 5m long and 2m wide)
Size of Cockpit: (Please give rough dimensions in metres. Typically 2m long)
Distance from engines to cockpit: (Please give a length in metres. Typically a 5m tether)
Sponsor: (Link to the company page of your sponsoring company [see rules])
Description: (Describing your submission's history is optional. Please provide a detailed account or link of each special feature that is listed in this submission. All miscellaneous descriptive elements go here There is no requirement for amount of words here so long as you meet the minimum requirements for your special features.)

Primary Source: (Please link the source of another writer's submission that you are modifying for your use; only necessary for "Chaos Canon" submissions)

I would love a:
  1. Podracer component template: Could be adds +2 speed etc and they could be given away as rewards for winning races
  2. Podracer Circuit Template: Location template but with: Length of Track, Number of circuits per race, hazards, best for (Up to three stats, e.g. best for podracers with high top speed and high boost), worst for:

I love the idea of components and upgrades. I think we can do it like we do company subsidiaries and have a components field and link to previously subbed components via tech mods

So would you prefer we made a component template for factory use, submitted each component, and then made a singular list of each component available with development requirements posted in said list as a factory blackmarket?

Podracer Circuit
Name: (What is the name of your course?)

Image Source: (Optional. Please link the origin and artist of the image you have used, if possible.)

Difficulty: (Beginner/Intermediate/Professional. What kind of racer is the circuit tailored too, or what is the likelihood of death on each lap?)

Location: (Where is it located? Be as descriptive as possible of the scenery visible from the course.)

Affiliation: (Who owns it currently?)

Description: (Describe your circuit in at least one paragraph. Please reference all characters, companies, and factions involved. Also list out at least 3 key features of the course)

Laps: (Optional. How many laps is a typical race?)

Suitable for: (List at least 2 stats from the Podracer template that this course suits. For example, a course with long straights more suit racers with a high Boost and Maximum Speed)

Challenging for: (List at least 2 stats from the Podracer template that this course is badly suited for. For example, a course with lots of tight turns is unlikely to suit podracers with good Boost and Maximum Speed)

Links: (Optional. You may provide any links to other existing Codex/Factory entries that constitute any significance to this entry.)

I'm 99% certain this is a required field in other templates, so I don't see why this is optional here.

Fixed a typo.
