Public Pirate Kings Gala

Location: Ankus

Aedan Miles strode through the corridor of the home he had seemingly lived in for the past who knows how many years. All he knows is he had gone back to retrieve a younger version of himself a handful of times. As he strode through the halls he observed the Red Fang that would serve as security getting into position around the home. Chuckling as he shock his head his long hair ruffling against the back of his neck. The time of the start of the gala drew near and the young appear Pirate King was not worried. Eventually the guests would arrive until they did there was plenty of booze to go around and cooks were set up on rotations to ensure that food was always fresh. Walking into the grand hall he made his way to the large throne like chair at the head and allowed himself to fall into it. As he sat a small grin crossed his lips even as he recalled the message that had been sent across the galaxy announcing the return of a once feared and now almost forgotten figure to the galactic stage. As he sat he hummed tilting his head curious as to who would come who would remember the man he had been.

All across the large palace like structure moved various members of the Clan Akaata a clan of Mandalorians that had followed Aedan Miles for generations. They completed various tasks making sure landing zones were prepared and land speeders ready to ferry guests from their ships to the hall. Security also wandered the grounds mostly made up of Red Fang the large Cragmaloid troopers walked with lumbering steps ensuring the security was complete. Even as these preparations were finished the last of the messages soared across the galaxy bringing a single message to everyone. "It has been many long years sense any of you have heard from me. Some of you may not care and to that I care not. To those who do care though I am hosting a Gala on Ankus let it be known that any come are under my hospitality so kindly leave your arguments and disagreements at the edge of the system but come and enjoy the party. Drinks and food laughs for all music and dancing. Whatever may strike your fancy will be at the Gala hosted by the returning Pirate King Aedan Miles." The holographic image of the young man smirked gold eye gleaming as he bowed exaggeratedly at the recorder. "All are invited to come and partake for after the gala once more shall I set off across the galaxy who knows whether I bring terror or gifts either way prepare your defenses if you feel you must fear me or come to the gala and express you interest in having me visit your lands to see if I can find a home amongst your lands and lend my prowess to you." The young appearing man smirked and tilted his head to the side gold eye gleaming. "For I now announce the return of former Pirate King Aedan Miles and his forces."

Aleksander scowled as he stormed through the halls fingers brushing over the bandoleer across his chest as he glared around. He hated the fact he was required to be here after all he wasn't really the heir of the Pirate King anymore that had been taken by Tuuli. He sneered thinking about the true born son but even with his heirship lost Aedan still provided for the cloned son he had created long ago. The long sleeveless red coat brushed against the ground as he finally neared the grand hall. Looking around the young man made his way over to the table that held the drinks snagging a glass of more expensive brandy he moved to lean against the shadowed pillars watching the hall blandly.

Ra'a'mah did not arrive with spectacle or flourish, nor with the kind of ostentatious display some delegations favored when stepping onto unfamiliar ground. Her shuttle descended through the atmosphere of Ankus with quiet, deliberate precision, its approach vector cleared well in advance, as was customary for any Protectorate envoy attending an event hosted by a name that still carried a particular weight in certain circles.

Aedan Miles.

The name had not vanished from the galaxy so much as it had drifted into the edges of collective memory. It was spoken in tones that were never quite warning and never quite admiration, but something balanced between the two. She had heard enough of those stories to understand why she was here.

The ramp lowered with a soft hiss, and Ra stepped down onto the landing platform with the composed ease of someone who understood exactly how much attention she wished to command, and how much she did not. Her attire reflected the same intention: elegant without indulgence, a deep-toned gown that moved fluidly with her steps, paired with a light outer layer marked only by the subtle insignia of the United Protectorate at her shoulder. It was not meant to dominate the room, merely to clarify her role to those who knew how to read such things.

Behind her, a small escort remained near the shuttle, present enough to be appropriate, restrained enough not to intrude.

Her golden eyes lifted as she took in the structure before her, noting the movement of security personnel, the scale of preparation, and the deliberate choice to host something so open, so public, in a place that could have easily been closed off instead. It was a bold decision. Or a calculated one. Perhaps both.

She moved inside at an unhurried pace, allowing herself to be guided toward the grand hall rather than asserting direction. This was not her event, and she had no intention of behaving as though it were. Tonight, she was a guest, and she carried herself accordingly.

The shift in atmosphere was immediate, voices layered over one another, the subtle hum of anticipation, the unmistakable energy of a gathering that had drawn more attention than anyone would openly admit.

And at the center of it all stood the reason for that attention.

Aedan Miles.

Ra slowed as she entered the hall, her gaze settling on him where he sat with that effortless sense of belonging, as though the space had been shaped around him rather than the other way around. The thought passed through her mind with quiet amusement, unspoken but present.

She approached only as close as etiquette allowed before stopping, offering a small inclination of her head, respectful without being deferential, acknowledging without conceding anything more than was appropriate.

"Lord Miles," she said, her voice carrying clearly through the hall without needing to rise. "I admit I was curious whether your message would be taken as a rumor or an invitation."

A faint warmth touched her expression, subtle but genuine.

"It seems the galaxy has been given little choice but to believe it."

Her hands settled loosely at her sides, her posture relaxed in a way that suggested she was entirely comfortable here, even if the circumstances were anything but ordinary.

"We have not met," she continued, her tone calm and direct, "but we share acquaintances. Enough that your name is not unfamiliar."

She allowed a brief pause, long enough to acknowledge the weight of that statement without turning it into something heavier than she intended.

"Ra'a'mah," she said simply. "United Protectorate of Sovereign Systems."

Not a declaration. Just clarity.

Her gaze held his evenly, steady and unhurried.

"You've extended hospitality across the galaxy," she added, her voice softening with a thread of curiosity. "It seemed unwise not to see for myself what you intend to do with it."

Another small pause, this one carrying a hint of something more personal, interest, perhaps, or simply the awareness that stories rarely matched the reality of the person who inspired them.

"And whether the stories I've heard still apply."

She did not press further. This was his stage, his moment, and she was content, for now, to let him decide how the evening would unfold.

A pirate king on Ankus? That's all I need to hear to maneuver the Arcadia and stay in orbit around the banquet zone. I've heard pirates claiming to be revolutionaries, others calling themselves soldiers like us and still others making their fortunes in all sorts of ways. But to go as far as self-proclaiming as "Pirate King"... I really wonder what kind of feat they've pulled off to come strutting around here.

Descending into orbit with my small personal craft, leaving the big ship up there, I moor my vessel not far from here at a spaceport berth. After tossing a few credits to pay for the spot, I exit the airlock to head toward the gala building.

The Captain of the Golden Crew will be present at this little shindig; after all, why not meet some other outlaws? Ever since my last heist on Coruscant, stealing Corusca gems, I've got extra cash to burn.

Arriving at the perimeter of the building, I notice it is well-protected and heavily guarded. I let myself be searched; they'll find nothing on me but my personal blaster and my comm-datapad.

Entering the building, I head straight for the reception hall, climbing the steps with my hands in the pockets of my red jacket. Almost sighing, I wonder: what am I going to find at the banquet? Suspense... I truly wonder.

Aedan stands as the guests start to arrive his movements smooth and efficient the same movements one would see from a predator. He looks down as a woman approaches the feeling of power around her obvious for any who had the ability to use the force. He canted his head to the side as she spoke listening with a soft hum the United Protectorate of Sovereign Systems it sounded very similar to where he had started all those years ago amongst the Omega Protectorate. Chuckling blandly to himself he inclined his head to her in a polite half bow. "Lady Ra'a'mah a pleasure to meet you and I am sure some of the things you have heard have been exaggerated others not spoke well enough of. But within them have been truths of myself and my character. Be welcome in this party mingle and talk to those who you would once only see in battle or accross from you at a diplomatic table. Speak freely and learn more for that is what this is about. For all involved I wish to see the current depths of the Galactic political front." Ra'a'mah Ra'a'mah

As he spoke to her his gaze lifted eyes swiftly traveling along the room as he felt another presence enter his golden eye alighting on the figure of a man wearing captains attire even as words were spoken into his ear about the ship the man had arrived in. Smirking lightly he bowed once more to Ra'a'mah before he stepped down from the dais and made his way over to the captain that had arrived he approached calmly the only obvious weapons on him an all to familiar cylinder of a lightsaber hilt at his waist. "Greetings to you Captain and welcome to my Gala it is always a pleasure to host those who have the same aptitudes of myself within my halls." He grins holding a hand out calmly his gold eye gleaming as he looks into the mans eye calmly.

As he spoke to the captain his gaze flicked to the left where the familiar figure of a much younger version of him stood one not wearing the eye patch but instead of bandoleer of pistols. Canting his head he sent a silent order towards his son to go and speak to the representative from the Protectorate.

Aedan Miles Aedan Miles . It had been some time since Vulpesen had heard the name. The pirate king had been one of the early Vitae Alliance's most illusive benefactors in a roundabout way and many of the Valde's former allies had mentioned the name and the feats associated with him. They had even shared a close proximity on multiple missions. It was therefore a bit of a shock when Vulpesen stared up at the man as he spoke to Ra'a'mah Ra'a'mah and was struck with a sudden realization. "I expected him to look older," he murmured to himself. Of course, the same could likely be said of Vulpesen, but he was a zorren, not bound by the anatomical ageing conventions of most humanoids. Aedan was, as far as he knew, human.

Stepping up, he gave Ra a smile and a small nod as he passed her. They would likely convene and catch up within a few moments. His own suit, simple but effective, was also pinned with a badge of the protectorate, and on his lapel, a smaller pin marking the badge of Veradune's Vitae Alliance. "So, after over half a century, and I get to put a face to the name. A pleasure to meet you, Lord Miles." He also gave a brief nod of greeting to Rylan Swok Rylan Swok . This one was unfamiliar to him, but of course, he would be providing any names and faces to his Tenevi after the meeting. In his life, he'd found that intelligence on even the smallest of circles could be the difference between life and death within the galaxy.

Ra inclined her head slightly in acknowledgment of Aedan's words, accepting both the welcome and the intent behind it without pressing further. His answer told her enough for now. This was not simply a celebration. It was an observation. A gathering designed to reveal as much as it entertained.

"Then I will take you at your word," she replied calmly. "And see what the evening chooses to show."

There was no challenge in her tone. Only quiet understanding.

As he turned his attention elsewhere, her gaze followed him briefly, noting the shift in his focus, the way his awareness moved through the room with practiced ease. Not just a host. A man taking measure of everything within his walls.

Interesting.

She let him go without attempting to hold his attention. That, too, told its own story.

When Vulpesen stepped past her, she returned his smile with a small nod, her posture easing just slightly in familiar company.

"He carries himself exactly as the stories suggest," she said softly, her voice low enough for him alone. "Though perhaps with more… intention than I expected."

Her golden eyes moved across the room, briefly settling on the newly arrived captain, then drifting further, taking in the various presences gathering within the hall. Pirates, soldiers, diplomats, opportunists. A carefully chosen mix.

"Not a reunion," she continued quietly, "and not entirely a celebration either."

Her attention returned forward, thoughtful.

"A vantage point."

She shifted her hands loosely at her sides, composed as ever.

"Which means everyone here is both guest and subject, whether they realize it or not." A faint hint of amusement touched her expression. Including us.

Her gaze flicked back toward Vulpesen for a moment. "Shall we circulate," she added lightly, "or would you prefer to observe a little longer before we're pulled into conversation?"

"I couldn't care less a cup of tea or some idle gossip, either works for me," I called out toward Ra'a'mah Ra'a'mah .

It seemed the others were just as lost as I was. This reception or rather, this invitation had made me raise an eyebrow the moment I saw it. I couldn't help but think it was all some elaborate prank, yet here we were. And the fact that our host was addressing me directly?

Now, that was truly unexpected.

"Greetings, sir. Allow me to introduce myself: I am Captain Rylan Swok, member and leader of the Golden Crew."

I offered a polite bow not out of submission, but out of simple respect. Once done, I turned toward the other guests, acknowledging them one by one with a nod, just as they had done with me. There was certainly an... interesting crowd here.

Force users, more Force users, and low and behold yet another Force user. Am I truly the only one here who's one hundred percent human?

Regardless, I moved to lean against the wall, arms crossed. Since I'm here, the party can finally start. Though, can we really call this a 'party' just yet? Or does our host have a few more surprises up his sleeve...?

"So, tell us. You invited us, and we answered the call. What exactly is on the agenda today?" Aedan Miles Aedan Miles

Rixa of the Wayward Star sat at a table. Her legs were crossed, heavy boots on the table and her crude sword sting out from behind her. One hand had a huge mug of something alcoholic.

She had arrived with no broadcast and no announcement. There had just been the faint shimmer of starlight bending back into place as her fast ship arrived and then her small crew walking in.

A pirate king calling the galaxy to his doorstep was either bold or suicidal and she was here to see it either way.

"So, tell us. You invited us, and we answered the call. What exactly is on the agenda today?" Aedan Miles Aedan Miles Aedan Miles Aedan Miles

Rixa snorted and leaned forwards.

"He wants a fucking agenda!" Rixa called out.

The laugh that followed was sharp and loud. She slammed her mug down hard enough to send foam spilling across the table, the liquid creeping around the heavy blaster resting beside her plate.

Red Rixa was not widely known. But what she was known for rarely involved good decisions.

"Hey Pirate King!" she called out, not bothering to stand. "Can I get your Mission Statement and a five point plan please!?"

Not starting a fight, just playing the character!
