Red was thinking about something. Sure, she could not read his mind. But you would not have to when you know he got his opinions about certain things and people, in particulary her. Although, they seemed to be at a better level with eachother now than before. That tiny, almost unnoticeable smile, felt like a sign confirming that.

Sturdy flight boots walked fast-paced and decisively down the clean and straight corridors of von Sorenn's capital ship. With the red haired special forces operative close behind, the newly promoted colonel pushed away the thoughts of hesitation to the sudden promotion, and had only one simple thing in her mind; to get airborne and succeed with the mission given to them.
''It's a pity realy that I won't be able to fly you there myself...'' she said with a light easy tone, and offered him a slightly sly smile as she looked backwards at him. It was a pity, but admittedly also not the right time to have a little fun with him. That thought had stayed with her for a while now. It would be interesting, giving the special forces operative a little different roller coaster that he had given her once, making him realy need that seatbelt. She turned forward again and continued down the corridors. ''... Once we get to the hangar, you'll immediately board a shuttle. We'll locate a lead ship and then you are free to wreak the havoc you want. A little different than Geonosis, don't you think?'' she said, slightly more serious.

''I suggest you take a squad of battledroids with you. There should be one ready for you in the hangar, if you want... But I strongly recommend it.'' she continued. Not that Red would likely need it to handle a rabble of pirates, but she also felt that it was her responsibility to provide him with what he needed to succeed with his part of the mission.

They entered the hangar bay through a pair of massive blast-doors. As Wraith Squadron had already left, not much vessels were left in the hangar. Droid starfighters hanged in their racks, and among the sentient ships that were parked beneath them were her ''Talon''. The ship that she had first initiated in live battle at Alakatha. She loved to rest her eyes on its black and razor sharp exterior, and even more to fly it. While piloting it, it felt without limits. Beside the stealth fighter stood a Styx-class assault dropship ready to depart with its crew of droid pilots already sitting in the cockpit making the ship ready.

“Horizon Leader this is Wraith Leader multiple Bandits spotted and engaged requesting reinforcements. How copy?”

Lieutenant Rory's voice broke through the comms and she made a halt just in front of the two ships that would take them to into battle.

''Wraith Leader - Horizon Leader. Horizon Squadron is taking off right now. We'll be with you shortly, keep 'em busy!'' she replied through her wrist comlink, then pushed a button to activate the droid fighters designated to Horizon Squadron. She took a deep breath and looked up at Red, giving him a pensive glance.

''We'll establish radio contact once we're airborne. Good luck, master sergeant. And make sure you won't miss the shuttle back home...'' she said and bit her lips together, before putting the flight helmet on and strapping it secure. Despite their earlier disagreements and what he had put her through, she wanted the guy that had saved her life, twice, to come back in one piece.

With no time for a last-minute briefing, she followed with a quick handsign to the rest of the sentient pilots of the squadron to mount up and prepare for take-off. She gave Red a salute and turned to hurry up the Talon's ladder, strapping herself in. A quick and experienced run through the pre-flight checks and closing the canopy were followed by the ''Talon'', with a violent roar to its afterburners, taking the lead out of the hangar bay.

The main control room had been the goal of the group from the very beginning, though the moment the group turned the corner on the floor two below the command room and saw the massive pirate surrounded by an escort group of pirates and crucible members alike, that plan obviously changed rather quickly. With a twirl of her blades, she pointed toward the large group, yelling out from across the hall. “Don’t you take another step!” The droids were quick to begin firing at the enemy, trying to keep them from moving any further toward the hanger at the end of the hall. Pirates and crucible members alike began to return fire toward the group of four Confederates.

Xobos couldn’t help but think to herself, as her blades wriled around her body in an attempt to block any incoming shots away from her and the last few droids she had left, that there had been just a few more reinforcements that had survivied the elevator or had come with her. It wasn’t that the apprentice wasn’t confident in her ability to take down the group in front of her. Quite the contrary, in fact, as she deflected a pair of bolts into a crucible member and a pirate, respectively. But the fact their numbers were so many, and hers so few, that she knew that there was little she could do to keep her target from running in the opposite direction into the hanger. At least until she was able to cut down enough of the enemy to push forward, instead of having to stand her ground and only deflect the incoming bolts.

It was lagos’s voice that spoke through her mind now, his voice able to be heard in her mind despite the noise of many blasters being fired. “Keep calm, little master. Do not do anything hasty. Cut them down swiftly, so we can take on the more important target.” “Right,” she said to herself in response to the voice, taking a few steps forward while continuing to deflect the bolts without much reason. The commando droids had found cover on either side of the hall, behind the stone pillars. Their accuracy was very impressive to the apprentice, as their shots regularly found their targets. Between xobos’s deflecting and the droid’s shots, five of the enemy now lay dead on the floor. Only a few more now and the apprentice would feel comfortable enough to move forward and attack the captain outright, though having someone else block off his escape to the hanger in the mean time would be quite the nice reinforcement.

Red followed [member="Kathryn Foster"] through the halls of the ship. He nodded and paid attention to what she said to him.

"I'll take a squadron of droids. I don't need them, but I want them." He reported to her.

She seemed to be taking the sudden promotion well. She appeared to have managed to maintain a calm head, and now she was preparing for the fight they were about to enter. Red wondered just how well she would handle herself in the heat of battle.

The entered the hangar and Red noticed the shuttle across the hangar. Colonel Foster told Red something, and he nodded.

"Copy that, Colonel. You lead the way and blast me a path through, and I'll handle the rest." He told her and went to his shuttle.

He motioned a squad of B2 battle droids equipped with jet packs over to him.

"Come on, you're with me." Red told them.

"Rodger, Rodger." They nodded and replied. They followed Red into the shuttle and took jump seats inside of the shuttle.

Red sat in a jump seat and told the droid pilots, "Follow Colonel Foster's ship."

"Rodger, Rodger." They replied.

The shuttle's doors closed, and the shuttle took off after [member="Kathryn Foster"] . Red put on his helmet, ready for the fight ahead.

As a young Lord, Adron had doted on Francesca. She was his light and his evening sun. His younger sister had always been one thing in his life that had never been ruined, never been taken from him. So it went without saying that his connection with the woman was one that ran deep. So when her hand tensed around his, he could not help but gaze at her searchingly. He could feel the slight whispers in the Force. Coming from each of them, an uncertainty that he could not quite place. He turned his eyes from Faye to Alden and then back to Faye again. When finally, his sister spoke, it did not help that she led with the words, "don't be mad." Generally, that meant that he was about to be very, very, very mad. Still, he nodded at the woman's words in a silent promise.

He kept the promise in his mind, yet when Faye shifted out from under him it began to fade away. He watched her take a place by Alden and as she spoke, he could not help but arch a brow at the two of them. His amethyst eyes shot from one to another, before he finally settled them on Alden. "You." Never has a single word been so potently covered with rage. Those eyes that were once like crystal amethyst pools began to shift. They turned into thin wisps of energy that flashed out from the Exarch's eyes like some dark mist.

So this was how it would be set? This is how the pieces had been decided to fall.

"I invited you into my favor." Adron spoke, his tone more like an angered serpents than a man's. "I welcomed you under my wing."

"I pushed for your elevation."

"I placed my faith in you!" He finally called out, stepping towards Alden with a burning intent. "You bloodless, insignificant, thing."

Finally, the Exarch halted his approach. Remembering himself and where they were. This was not a place to unsheathe his rage, nor was it a place for an Exarch to be seen bickering with a Minister and a Marshal. "If you insist on pairing yourself with someone whose blood is dirt then that is your choice. I will not be a part of it." The Exarch turned to one of the Commando droids, gesturing towards the shuttle as he spoke. "Prepare my shuttle."

Then he would turn to Alden, now giving him a disappointed look. "You are no longer my apprentice." With that, the man would turn from the two, and recede to his own shuttle as well as his thoughts.

In the cockpit of her star fighter McKenna’s mind was reeling. Having managed to dispatch the immediate threat to her fighter she began to think about the men under her control. It was then after weaving back to where her squads had been ambushed that the small Lieutenant got the answer to her question. As the Colonel answered back McKenna sighed in relief before saying “Roger Wraith Leader over and out.” She would then call out to her squad’s “Wraith Squadron this is Wraith 1-1 report in.” As she said this she caught sight of her second engaged with a few of the enemy fighters.

As the small Lieutenant made her way over to the dogfight happening her comm link went crazy “Wraith 1-3 checking in.” One voice called out “Wraith 1-4 checking in” “Wraith 2-1 checking in” “Wraith 2-2 checking in” As she heard this she noted that 2-3 and 2-4 did not check in. McKenna assumed the worst. As she took out the last of the fighters trying to destroy her second she would once more call out into her com “Wraith Squadron regroup on me
As she said this she noted the ships exiting the hangar bay from which she had taken off from. As she was thinking about this yet another group of fighters came up on their six taking a shot the missed wide McKenna would speak once more accelerating quickly “Wraith Squad split into individual squads one with me two’s you link up with Colonel Foster. 1’s we keep them busy

Her face fell.

‘Adron… You can’t be serious?’ Faye’s voice wobbled as she spoke. The Minister had never imagined he would take it this badly. It wasn’t as though he had any plans to marry her off, as far as she was aware. In fact, Faye had been of the mind that Adron would be irritated at first, but ultimately as long as she was happy he would be fine. What did it matter who she fell in love with? He had Ale now. The Malvern line was carried on through Aries… why was he doing this?

‘FINE!’ She shouted to the back of her brother as he disappeared into the belly of the ship. ‘I see you still care more for the Malvern name than you do for any of our happiness!’ Her tone of voice wasn’t spiteful, it was pained. It hurt that he had taken it so harshly. As though who she loved affected him personally. Twice now her brother had reminded her of her Father, it was just that this time around Faye was reminded of the negative side of him. The side that was far too focused on their appearance and the reputation of their name than he was about any of their emotions. So be it.

The only other problem was…

Faye turned her gaze to her lover, her ordinarily relaxed and bright expression now a vision of confusion and distress. ‘I had no idea he would… are you okay? This is all my fault.’ This as worse for him than it was for her by far. Not only had he lost his arm in service to Adron, but now he had lost the opportunity to work with him altogether, and it was all her fault. Eventually, Adron would forgive Faye. He had too. They were the only surviving members of the Malvern family, but Alden? He would feel the sting for longer than she. Longing to reach out and touch him, but fearful of what he was thinking, Faye wrapped her arms around the metal torso she had been forced into. It was then that she realised how hot and uncomfortable it was in there and, on this particular occasion, it was irritating the kark out of her.

In a fit of frustration, Faye’s fingers grasped at the clips that penned her into the armour. The process took a painful minute, but when they finally released with a mechanical hiss Faye threw the bulk of it off her chest. Underneath was a simple, plain white tank top, a far cry from what the Minister was usually garbed in, but at least now she could breathe without feeling restricted. She inhaled the stale air deeply, till her lungs cried out that they couldn’t possibly hold any more. Without daring to let it go, Faye buried her head in her hands, completely cutting out the fact that they were surrounded by crowds of hungry people. For once, it wasn’t other emotions that ravaged her sensibilities. For once, the only pain Faye could feel was her own. ‘It’s all my fault…’

It had been some time since Jari had been able to pull himself outside of his work. But, it wasn’t exactly like he felt the need to. He was a scientist and a physician; he felt at home in his work and that in itself had become his ‘happy place’ so to speak. Venturing beyond that role was alien to the man, but when his sister asked for him to accompany her on one of her crazy adventures, he couldn’t help but to oblige. After all, it wasn’t like it was exactly all that often he got to spend time with her and that simply needed to be assuaged.

Well, this was one of those crazy missions that Tess had somehow wrapped him into. Just why? Well that was something he was still trying to figure out.

Sirens rang out around this derelict facility. This fabrication of scrap and parts; a phenomenon which caused Jari to stand in bewilderment as to just how the architecture maintained its integrity. The occasional renegades that occupied the station hurried down the hall, but somehow very few allowed Jari to capture their attention, often leaving him feeling as though he were a ghost amid the shadows. Posing no threat, or perhaps his rough unkept, rugged, outward appearance playing tricks on the eyes of the station’s hosts. His hair was disheveled, his clothes but tattered rags dotted with a few misshapen plates. A few days old scruff grew untamed from his jawline, a look he held a great disdain for. However, this is what his sister had suggested for him. This was her theatre of expertise, not his own. If it were a lab or a medical facility, perhaps it would be, but that was not what this was. Not in the slightest.

Of those pirates whose attention he did manage to draw, it was proving all too simple to dismiss the simple minded fools with but a wave of his hand.

The door before the man snapped open in an instant, the whirring of pistons screamed of anguish as the room beyond was presented for him to take note of. Two bodies lay limp and lifeless on the cold duracrete flooring. And before them the smaller frame of a woman with a unique family resemblance to him. She was his sister, and beyond that, his twin. They’d come into this galaxy together, and so, it seemed all too fitting that they would this galaxy together from time to time as well

“Been busy, have we?” Jari’s words seem to carry with them a slight overtone of disappointment. “A shame the men had to die. I’m sure their families will miss them, no matter the blemish they appeared to be to their own kind.” He shook his head softly, and allowed his gaze to rise from the corpses to his sister. “After You.” He motioned with an arm for her to take the lead.

“Now what is it we’re doing in this dreadful place, again?”

Alden’s gut wrenched this way and that as the words fell from Faye’s lips, breaking the news to Adron unceremoniously of her’s and Alden’s ongoing relationship. One that, to this moment, had been kept under wraps. It had been their secret, kept out of the eyes of both Adron and the greater Confederacy. A certain fear was quickly subverted from the stance Faye took by his side as she poured out her heart into her statement to the man. An oration Alden knew deep down Adron would not want to hear. It was one thing for him to be romantically involved with the Exarch’s, and his Master and friend’s, sister. It was another completely when that friend clung so headingley to the archaic values of bloodlines. How the name a man boar held more weight than the accomplishments that followed. Something he very much stood against in his own life. But to the Exarch, and a man he’d come to revere as a friend, nothing mattered more than the name and the power it carried with it.

There was no outward reaction from the High Marshal as the Exarch laid into him in a verbal onslaught. Not even the slightest grimace or scowl at being referred to as bloodless, insignificant, and thing. Not to the further malicious baration as his blood was compared to dirt. And maybe to the Exarch, that’s all he was. Maybe to the man he continued to see as a friend, now awash in a pain filled rage, that’s all he was. A pittling pawn in a much larger political game. Maybe to the Exarch, the name meant more than the individual it belonged to, but that wasn’t anything that he would hold over the man’s head. It was simply how he’d been raised. And now the bastion of the entire family had been placed there upon the man’s shoulders. One that with it brought on an overwhelming amount of stress. Far more than a man his age should ever have to bear. Now levy that atop his responsibilities as an Exarch leading the ever expanding systems of the Confederacy, it was a wonder the man could even stand. But, Adron did just that. And he continued to march on. And for that, Alden held a high respect for him.

It wasn’t the insults or disparaging of his name or apparent value that finally teetered the man’s defiant bearing, but being stripped of his place by the Exarch’s side. Being cast out, with the mantle of apprentice withdrawn that caused a bevy of emotion to stir that was pitted so deeply in his gut. The fact that his and his beloved’s actions had tore so deeply into the man’s soul as to make every attempt to cut him out from his life is what had rung an accord within him for Alden would wish no such malevolence upon anyone. No one deserved to be in such pain to him, no matter how terribly they had slighted the galaxy. But he’d done just that, and perhaps even more damningly, driven a proverbial wedge between the two siblings. The two people that really only had each other left in a manner of speaking. Sure, Adron had Alessandra, and Faye had himself, but there wasn’t really anything in this galaxy that could truly compare to the bond in which siblings carried. And this he knew well for he had a brother of his own. One he’d not seen in a number of years now. Not since before the war that saw the fall of the Galactic Alliance so long ago.

Though he wouldn’t display any such grief outwardly in the Exarch’s presence, it wouldn’t be remotely that way internally. It was a hailstorm of mixed emotions internally for the man, but outwardly he showed nothing of the inner turmoil. He simply was. All the way to the point where the Exarch’s shuttle lifted and fled from the planet’s surface. It was then that it hit him as he released a long, labored exhale, shutting his eyes tightly as he did so. It was an attempt to bring peace to the internal war that ravaged his mind. Serenity desperately seeking regain its foothold, though fruitless thus far in its efforts.

His attention soon shifted, though, his gaze trailing over to Faye, whose counter to her brother had escaped him. Instead, when he found her tender voice once more, the words that followed were far beyond what he would have expected. This is all my fault, she would say and those words to him could not be further from the truth. However, it took him a moment to gather his own thoughts through his emotional disarray. By the time he had, she’d loosed the plating that she’d previously donned to protect here and attempted to wrap herself within her own embrace. Once more those mourningful words would fill his ears; it’s all my fault.

Reaching out, Alden wrapped his own arms around her, pulling her close in an attempt to bring her some form of comfort. Even amidst the heckling of the growing crowds around them. His was only on her and his attention and focus undivided. “It’s not your fault, Faye. You cannot blame yourself for your brother’s actions,” he said. “Know that you did only what had to be done. To continue to keep this a secret from the one person that means more to you than anyone else in this galaxy would have been forcing yourself to live a lie. It would have tore you apart and that would have been no good for anyone. But especially yourself.” Alden paused a moment, taking in a deep breath before continuing. “We cannot take back what is done any more than we can deny the love we share between us. Just know that I love you and want nothing less than you to be happy. We’ll get through this, I promise. None of this is your fault so please do not blame yourself.”

“Just opening the door for you dear brother.” Tess said with a playful pout as her twin’s voice felt like a rap on the knuckles. He had a way of making her feel like she could have made a better choice, he had that way with words that she had yet to refine. She was good with words, no doubt, but he was much better at it than she.

The deaths of the two pirates didn’t way on her however, she knew she was in the right. She had been given a ‘by any means necessary’ order for a job she wasn’t usually assigned to: gathering intel for the Ministry. She had decided to recruit her brother for two reasons, the first: was his way with words, and people. If all went well, he might be able to just talk the intel out from under the pirate’s noses, if not it would provide a wonderful distraction as she extracted it. She wouldn’t let him get in any undue danger as she had asked him on the mission and didn’t want to put him in danger. But that led to her second reason for bringing him, “We are here to get you out of that stuffy lab of yours, with those white coats and medicines.” She said jokingly as she did a playful twirl to face away from Jari, “You needed some fresh air.”

Tess walked down the hallway and turned to the left, glancing at the holomap she had pulled out of a pouch on her belt, she waited a second for her brother to catch up, “We are here.” She pointed with her other hand at the map, “And we need to get here, to extract a portable console containing information highly desired by the Ministry.” She was more lax about her connection to the Ministry with her family members than anyone else she knew because she believed that blood ran deeper than anything, and she and Jari had been together since their conception. Nothing would make him betray her, nor get her to betray him. She continued walking down the hallway as she pocketed the holoprojector, “Any other questions?” she said in a slightly more serious tone, “We have a go ahead on removing any resistance from our path if necessary, but if you want to go the less life ending route, we can try that.”

Turning right at the end of the hallway she saw the shapes of one maybe two people ([member="Gerwald Lechner"] and [member="Maani"]) at the other end of the hallway. “Your choice brother.” She said as she raised Oathkeeper to her shoulder, leveling the sight to the larger figure’s chest.

No words would fall from Jari’s mouth initially as Tess joked about simply opening the door for him. Instead, he simply shook his head and smiled. It was just like her to play off a situation in such a manner; at least that’s how it’d been for as long as he could recall. But then came his sister’s next flurry of words. A statement he couldn’t help but to usher a laugh at. Her words were certainly true, he couldn’t deny that with a clean conscious. However, his lab was his happy place. He was safe there, relatively speaking, and he was in control. Outside of it, he had to brave the world. And no matter how well, or how easily it came to him, interacting with people wasn’t exactly the brightest part of his day typically. “And this is your idea of getting me fresh air, huh?”

His words would come across in a joking manner, but there was a certain seriousness that powered them forward. “At least in my lab, my patients aren’t trying to kill me. And they tend to be far better kept.” These pirates seemed not to understand proper hygiene. At least not in Jari’s eyes. They carried a certain stench and grimy appearance. He felt filthy just mirroring their look. And the scruffy beard that caressed his jawline did nothing but nag and itch; the hour couldn’t quick enough for him to shame that wretched thing from his face. “The stench,” he said, wafting a hand in front of his face as if to bat the smell and air away, “How long do you think it’ll be before I can wash this filth out?

As Tess began to lead the way, Jari would follow suit, tugging at his less than desired attire as he marched onward. He nodded his head and she further explained why they were here and what the mission entailed.

“And how is it I’m supposed to help with this? Certainly not with facts these beasts could never hope to understand.” He really wasn’t certain of his actual role in all this, but he had agreed to tag along with her when she asked. He’d do just about anything for her if she asked and he was sure the same thing could be said of the inverse to that. “I’m sure if I even mentioned the word ‘hygiene,’ they stir into a riot. And that’s if they even knew what the word means. Anyways, let’s move on. The quicker we’re done with this, the quicker I can get back to feeling like a sensible human being again.”
When Tess raised her weapon toward the two figures that came into their view as they rounded a corner, Jari merely shook his head and nudge the barrel of her weapon aside. The man, in particular, she aimed it at, was not an enemy in any sense of the word. “Come now, Tess. Is that any way to greet a friend?” His words almost mocked her swift actions to train her weapon on those before her. “You’d think with all the super secret Ministry work you do, that you’d be able to recognize one of our own. Is that what the Ministry is all about? Knowledge or something like that, right?”

The tilt was in full swing now. Dated Pirate fighter craft engaged the superior fighter core of the Confederacy while the base’s defenses charged. They were scoring what hits they were able, however it would seem the Confederate forces far outmatched them. As such, it wasn’t long before panic began to set in, and their ranks began to break. Fighters soared away from formation and found themselves easily picked off by the far more adequately trained fighter corps of the Navy in place. Further panic would set in as their numbers thinned and even more so as the fighters flooded from the belly of the capital ships that filled the space around the Epica system.

It really was something, the ally in which panic and fear could be on the battlefield for one group, yet the complete opposite for another. One by one the pirates began to tuck their tails and run, fleeing the scene of the battle. Fleeing their base and stronghold. Jumping from the system if their ships were fitted with hyperdrives, pressing the throttle forward and simply attempting to create as much distance as possible if they did not.

Just as quickly as the battle had begun, it was teetering out and ending. The filth and outlaws of the galaxy scampering away simply praying to whatever higher power they may have believed in that they might be able to see the light of another sun.

Inside the station, an infiltrator ([member="Jorah zos Darnus"]) had made quick work of the station’s reactor. The defenses fell, cannons which had been charging saw their life depleted. Shields found themselves absent, able to reflect no damage once the barrage of fire would begin if the Confederate Navy chose to act so.

Blaster fire would ring out over the hall as Black Sam and his company or Renegades and Crucible alike found themselves cut off, a strange lightsaber wielding girl with a contingent of droids standing between them and their destination. Just when you thought this day couldn’t get any worse it seemed to do just that. At least if you were a pirate it seemed.

The hulking man clad in irregularly set beskar plates growled in defiance as the firefight erupted. Shots echoed down the halls. Bodies and chassis alike fell limply to the duracrete floor. Exterior collisions and explosions sent tremors through the base, causing unsure footing for all not anticipating the shift. And still here they all were. A seemingly anti-climatic end to what the Pirate Lord would have desired. Rounded up. Outmatched. And all this even after bending knee to the Crucible which had promised him notoriety and fortune beyond his wildest dreams. For a time, it had rung true on all accords, however this end was far from what was promised.

Three rounds found their way to the man’s chest, two absorbed in the beskar plate, however one finding that soft point between where the plates would come together, forcing him to a knee. He screamed out in a blood curdling fashion, firing off a brief barrage of fire and one final desperate attempt to not go down without a fight. At least not without a worthy one. But it was short lived as yet another another bolt of plasma burn through the tattered rags that garbed him beneath the clunky plates.

His hand fumbled down to a pocket by his side; his firearm fell to the floor. All in a moment, a highly recognizable ticking sounding would begin to fill the air around them. A faint red light flashing from a spherical shape in his hand. It was a thermal detonator and his only intention behind it was to take as many with him as he was able.

One could say he was going to go out with a bang.

The halls deep within the station found themselves quiet and mostly devoid of life. Attention had been drawn elsewhere in the facility. A battle raged out around them in the vacuum of space and their fearless leader was tucking his tail and trying to run. Minimal manning remained deep inside the station. And even less so toward to the network center. It was the place where the rag tag group of renegades kept what one might consider intelligence. And those so called guards that were here seemed to care little for what was locked away here. Especially with the impending doom each and everyone of them knew awaited them in moments. There was no avoiding it; the moment they decided to stand toe-to-toe with the Confederacy was the moment each and everyone of them knew they’d signed their very own death warrants.

It was just a matter of time before the team of Confederates found their way here on their quest to rid the system of the band of renegades.

The darkness of space engulfed the fighter squadron as they shot out of the hangar bay, one craft after the other following the black ''Talon'' that was colonel Fosters. After a sharp bank and turn to the right, the area of battle laid straight ahead of them and ion traces and laser bolts lighted it up.

Above her own breathing in the oxygen mask, she could hear the lack of check-ins from Wraith Squadron. They could have been taken by surprise by the cunning pirates and their dirty tricks, but she held great hopes and knew the odds would be with them once the two CIS squadrons rendezvous with eachother. The engine roared behind her and the ''Talon'' rushed in a dead straight line towards the battle.

''Horizon 2 - you stay with me. Horizon 3 and 4 - you guard the flanks and keep an eye on the sensors for any incoming bandits. How copy?'' she called gathered over the comms before copying that she and Horizon 2 would be joined by a Wraith 2. No plan survives initial contact, as many tacticians used to say. But the colonel felt safe with the well-trained and adaptable squadron, one of which she had put her own small touch to in training.

The sensors flashed on the dashboard as it picked up a bandit chasing one of the Wraith's, close to her position. Foster engaged and made the enemy fighter break away from the pursuit, leaving the Wraith safe for the moment. The pirate craft was small and nimble but the colonel foresaw its intentions and she initiated a displacement roll which took her again behind the bandit and decreased the angle of attack. With a squeeze to one of the ''Talons'' yoke buttons, red laser bolts made short work of the pirate which went up in a smaller explosion.

''Wooh! One down! How are you holding up, Rory?'' she exclaimed in the wake of the intense adrenaline pumping barrel roll, looking out of the canopy to see how the rest were doing.

The pilots flew the shuttle after Colonel Foster. Red watched through the cockpit. Well, she was a good pilot, Red had to give her that. She shot down a pirate, and they continued to fly through the battle. "Find us one of the larger ships, Colonel, and we'll take it down." Red told her.

Then, an explosion echoed off their port side. The ship rocked. "What was that?" Red asked. One of the battle droid pilots looked at one of the terminals. "There's an enemy on our tail!" The battle droid reported. "Evasive action!" He ordered. The battle droids maneuvered the shuttle, dodging the fire from the enemy on their tail.

"Colonel Foster, we've picked up a tail!" Red reported through the comms.
