DESCRIPTION

In the face of Galaxy-wide, militant tension, the Confederacy of Independent Systems began to bolster its production of arms and armor for utilization by their armed forces. To this end, the Kaminoan Armorsmiths, famed for their devising of the Phase I and Phase II Clone Trooper Armors, delved into their years of expertise in order to create exceptionally reliable armors for the entirety of the Confederacy's militant forces. These armors, collectively identified as the Phase IV Confederate Trooper Armor, come in two varieties: Version 1 (v1) and Version 2 (v2). As a whole, both varieties of the Confederate Trooper Armor consist, firstly, of a flame-retardant body glove composed of hardened armorweave. On its own, this protective covering provides protection from the elements, in addition to minor resistance against blades and blaster bolts.

Affixed to this layer of armorweave are plates composed entirely of armorplast. This lightweight material, though expensive to mass produce, was selected due to the fact that it was comparable to Durasteel in terms of strength and durability. Furthermore, Armorplast boasts the minor ability to reflect blaster bolts; however, it is to be noted that the concentration of armorplast affixed to both varieties of the Confederate Trooper Armor is such that this occurrence is a rarity. As a whole, both versions of the armor, due to the presence of armorplast, offer excellent protection against blaster bolts. It is to be noted that the interior of each helmet is lined with a light, agrinium mesh in order to provide a small degree of protection against electromagnetic weaponry. In terms of additional components, the helmets associated with both versions of the armors contain the basic "essentials": a HUD, scanners, an oxygen filtration system and additional oxygen supply, etc. Furthermore, both gauntlets of the armor are affixed with either a holographic projector/micro-datapad or a concealed/retractable blade.

While both varieties of the armor provide protection against a variety of ails, such as blaster fire, ballistics, air-borne chemicals, or even radiation, there are some differences. These differences are simply the total weight of the armor, and the arrangement of the armorplast plates upon the armorweave bodyglove. Version 1 is much lighter than its counterpart, and was created with the stealth-based, sniper, etc. types of combatant in mind. Version 2 is heavier than its counterpart, offering greater protection against heavier weapons than Version 1, and was designed with the average soldier, or light shock troops, in mind. In terms of aesthetics, the Mandalorian heritage of the Phase I and Phase II Clone Trooper Armors is evident in the Phase IV design; so much so that both versions feature the iconic "T" visors. As a whole, both varieties of the Phase IV Confederate Trooper Armor are shining examples of the ingenuity of the Kaminoan Armorsmiths and the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

This is actually kind of delicious. I'm still twitching at the idea of allowing mass-produced armorweave, but considering how little respect people pay it, I'm starting to be of the opinion of "bugger it, let them sort it out."

Approved.
