- Conventional Weaponry: Providing its user with an extreme level of mitigation and defense against virtually all forms of conventional weaponry, including lightsabers, kinetics, and energy weapons, in most engagements, the operator will not encounter weaponry that the armor is unable to provide viable defense against. This affords it a great degree of versatility, since in addition to its stealth and utility features, it is also capable of engaging in heavy combat conditions at close ranges.
- Sonic Weaponry: Countering a common weapon employed against Force-wielders, the Shimmer Shadow possesses an extreme degree of mitigation and defense against sonic weaponry, allowing the user to maintain focus even while under assault from sonic weapons that would otherwise incapicitate them or even liquidate their internal organs.
- EMP and Ion: Possessing less robust EMP and Ion defense than its sister armor, the Shimmer Shadow features a similar amount of electronics, but they are significantly more vulnerable to EMP/Ion-based attacks. This was a deliberate decision by the designers in order to enhance the armor’s resilience to more conventional weaponry, since the Shimmer Shadow’s intended user does not depend as heavily on electronics as the user of the Glitter Ghost. Regardless, the lack of substantial EMP/Ion defense is a major vulnerability of the Shimmer Shadow.
- Cryo Weaponry: Like its sister, the Shimmer Shadow is extremely vulnerable to cryo-based weaponry and attacks, in spite of its resistance to cold environments. This is largely due to the fact cryo-based weaponry delivers a more intense and focused burst of cold than what is present in naturally-occurring cold environments, such as those on Hoth and Ilum.
- Operational Limitations: A number of the Shimmer Shadow’s systems can not be used in conjunction with the personal cloaking device, these include the personal energy shield, any wrist-mounted weapons, the repulsor-pack, or any active sensors.
A specially commissioned armor for Anesia Jy’Vun, the Phase I “Shimmer Shadow” Force-Stealth Armor takes after its sister design, the Phase I “Glitter Ghost”Stealth Armor, in many ways but diverges in a few based on the preferences, capabilities, and specialities of its intended user. Trading defense against EMP/Ion-based assaults for defense against lightsabers and other forms of conventional weaponry, the Shimmer Shadow is crafted with the needs of a powerful, Force-wielding combatant in mind. It also provides substantial defense against sonic weaponry via a sonic dampening overlay and an integrated sonic neutralizer, allowing Anesia to maintain focus under such assaults while mitigating damage to her person.
In addition, the Shimmer Shadow retains the utility equipment of its sister design, including advanced sensors, mobility enhancements, operating health monitoring systems, and more. However, these are less-protected from EMP and Ion interference than those on the Glitter Ghost. Nevertheless, the Shimmer Shadow is a capable and comprehensive armor system which is highly optimized to improve the capabilities of its intended user.
