STRENGTHS
  • Armament: Although it only has two weapons, the Nike is nevertheless capable of dealing potentially devastating levels of damage to a target in a very short period of time, due to the annihilating potential of its forward-mounted antimatter cannons. These weapons lend the Nike the potential to deal critical damage to any unit smaller than 45 meters, including heavy walkers, tanks, and fighters, albeit with multiple direct hits depending on the size, shields, and armor of the target. In essence, in terms of engagement capability and versatility, the Nike is a metaphorical Swiss Army knife.
  • Shield Integrity: The Nike possesses an extremely robust shield suite that is further augmented by a network of capacitors which can boost shield power or quickly recharge them in the event that they are depleted or disabled. They are capable of defending the craft from a wide variety of threats, especially small arms fire, blaster cannon-equivalent fire, and to a more limited extent, laser cannon-equivalent fire.
  • Dogfighting: Not limited to engaging ground targets, the Nike is capable of dogfighting in atmosphere against swoop craft, airspeeders, and even starfighters, albeit with significantly more stress on both pilot and craft. Nevertheless, daring, skilled, and strong pilots can be extremely deadly in atmospheric dogfights, as the Nike’s lower mass compared to larger airspeeders and starfighters makes it inherently more maneuverable under most conditions.
WEAKNESSES
  • Taxing to Ride: Although small, the Nike is powerful and heavy swoop. Pulling hard maneuvers requires a high degree of physical fitness and stamina, as the pilot must shift their body with each turn, especially when moving at speed. As such, it is very physically taxing to ride, even more so under high-intensity conditions such as combat where power draw may force the pilot to lower the energy dedicated to the acceleration compensation system in favor of more crucial systems, thereby subjecting them to intense Gs.
  • Difficult to Ride: The Nike is very different from most swoop or speeder bikes, in that the pilot must adopt an aggressive forward-leaning “sport posture”, whereas other repulsor bike craft can be ridden in a more comfortable feet-forward position. In addition, managing the Nike’s torque is especially important when pulling hard maneuvers and tight turns. Too much power applied at the wrong moment could lead to a rider losing control of the swoop, potentially leading to a deadly crash. As such, Nike pilots are somewhat difficult to train, as pilots previously trained on more conventional repulsor bikes will find that many of their riding habits are not conducive to controlling the Nike.
  • Shield-Dependent Defense: Although the Nike possesses an armored fairing, in the event that its shields are depleted or otherwise disabled it will only be able to provide a negligible degree of protection to the pilot, given their exposed riding position. In essence, the Nike derives nearly all of its resilient defensive capabilities from its shields. Once these are down, the rider will be extremely vulnerable.
  • Ion Afterburn: The Nike’s ion afterburners can only be sustained for a limited amount of time due to its intense power demands and potential to overheat the engines. At maximum, it can only be active for ten consecutive seconds before it is automatically shut off, at which point the engines undergo a mandatory heat discharge protocol. In addition, the craft can not use weapons or any electronic warfare systems while the afterburners are engaged.
DESCRIPTION
The Phase I/01 “Nike” Heavy Swoop Craft is the first in a series of armed swoop and speeder bike craft manufactured by one of the largest defense corporations based within the Scintilla. Conceived initially as a heavy, rapid assault swoop, the Nike matured through its development into a far more versatile craft, one capable of dogfighting in atmosphere and competitively engaging virtually any unit ground or air-based unit. The Nike utilizes a number of technologies from podracers and starfighters, including an advanced targeting suite, electronic warfare systems, and an afterburn system which functions similarly to SLAM in that it briefly lends the craft a burst of speed and/or acceleration. Like the Pink X which was designed by the same company, the Nike’s twinned main weapons are governed by an advanced pattern harmonisation system that maximizes concentration of fire based on constant feedback from rider input, targeting data, and sensor information.

Representing a deadly fusion of technologies, the Nike is primed to be one of the most versatile craft fielded by the Agents of Chaos, opening up a diverse new range of tactics and strategies for Wild Hunt commanders and daring pilots to employ in the modern battlefield.

Mellifluous Magenta Mellifluous Magenta , the "Pink Vapor" appears to be minor production, and this is a mass produced design. This means that to stay mass-produced, the Pink Vapor will have to be removed. Alternatively, we can keep the Pink Vapor and change the production to minor - this will also give you an extra rating to play with.
