Description: Following on the heels of Rendili's Spearhead Cruiser, a more civilian oriented, scientifically minded, and less military oriented exploration and expedition vessel was also designed by the Rendili Stardrive engineers. Developed with the same principles in mind as the Spearhead Cruiser, the Phantos Frigate's main concern is the ensure it can function even if systems begin to break down. Thus like the Spearhead it boasts extra hyperdrive units, though its own are even slower than the militaristic Spearhead's, as well as three Ion Engines. However, unlike the Spearhead Cruiser, the Phantos has a much more extensive Medical Bay and Sensor Suite. Lacking the array of weaponry of a military ship, the Phantos instead relies upon an extensive sensor suite to evaluate the dangers of its environment than on its security in weaponry to get it by, as well as scanning potential life supporting planets.
Also as a non-military starship, the Phantos Star Frigate expresses a much more comfortable space of living quarters for its inhabitants and more extensive recreation centers for its crew and passengers to utilize while on their long journies. Still, the Phantos is not a defenseless vessel either. Sporting several ion cannons and an array of laser and point defense cannons as well, in addition to a light hanger with an escort of eight Rendili Starfighters.
