Prophet of Bogan
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Councilor of Ziost,
Kasir Dorran
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Penumbra's formalization and organization wouldn't be firmly established until rather recently, however its purpose and operations have long since been a staple of the Order of Wonosa's efforts. The first recognizable predecessor stage of the organization would be that of the Darkseekers, the new Sith Assassins that Darth Strosius crafted and trained in the wake of Darth Ophidia's demise at His hand. The Darkseekers would be the primary black ops and covert force of the Order for quite some time yet even in their earliest days there were still informants and agents that supported their work.
Eventually as Wonosan operations became more widespread, an expansion of their covert arm became necessary before it frayed and was rendered inefficient and this would form the foundation of what is now Penumbra. The Councilor of Ziost and the Darkseekers would coordinate and organize this collection of informants and agents into proper cells which would be better able to carry out their operations without direct oversight, slowly making the disorganized and decentralized groups that the Order of Wonosa had converted and cultivated into a proper intelligence agency.
It wasn't until Project Vicar reached its culmination and the Core Worlds became free reign that Penumbra would be fully formed and formalized however. Now with embedded sleeper agents all throughout the galaxy and opportunity ripe for the taking, the Order of Wonosa couldn't rely on mere individual cells and their existing paltry network of informants any longer. Penumbra's creation was merely an acknowledgement of systems and operations which were already well underway and in existence, but its mission and purpose would be to seize potential and convert it into results.
- Intent: Flesh out the covert arm of my Sith's powerbase and provide a potential foe for folks to use in future threads!

- Classification: Intelligence and Covert Operations Organization
- Affiliation: Order of Wonosa

- Description: The Order of Wonosa have never been strangers to lurking within the darkness, using it as both shield and sword. Yet whereas the Order itself might have made use of the long shadows of the galaxy at large, Penumbra are the masters of such shadows. They are responsible not only for the infiltration and covert manipulation that keep the cult competitive and independent from wider Sith authority and reliance, but also indeed for the daily affairs and decentralized existence that the cult maintains at all. They are comprised of and oversee all special operations and intelligence within the Order of Wonosa, ever watchful and ever cautious.
- Headquarters: Technically the Harbinger of Absolution, but largely without a proper central headquarters.
- Domain: They mainly operate out of and from various installations and outposts scattered on planets and throughout space in the Outer Rim, Wild Space, The Slice, Hutt Space, and to a limited degree the Sith Order. By and large their presence and influence within these areas are intentionally hidden and misconstrued, given the nature of their subversive operations. However in their "home territory" of outposts and bases belonging to the Order of Wonosa their presence is clandestine but still noticeable and clear.
- Notable Assets: Vergence Fleet, Point Eight
- Hierarchy: The high command of Penumbra consists of two individuals: The Prophet of Bogan Darth Strosius and the Head of the Darkseekers, the Councilor of Ziost. Below them, Penumbra is organized into various cells and groupings depending on their designated region of influence and operation with one senior officer as the overseer and the rest of the cell in an order of rank based on experience and performance.
- Membership: Penumbra is fairly selective with their recruitment, a necessity given their operations. As such they are far from the largest component of the Order of Wonosa however, due not only to all of the Darkseekers being considered part of their numbers but also the simple reality of their work being crucial to the survival of the cult overall, they do boast a surprisingly sizeable organization. They are drawn from covert and loyal members of the Order, those that have experience or skills that fit the nature of their work and mission. Typically Penumbra will come to a potential agent or officer when they are isolated after a period of observation and repeated showings of relevant skills and discipline with an offer of joining in their ranks. OOC, just ask me pretty much.
- Climate: The atmosphere within the organization can best be described as sanitary and impersonal, yet respectful and communal at the same time. All within Penumbra know each day carries a new risk not only for them but for the Order of Wonosa as a whole and this is a burden that all will handle differently. Some embrace the whims of fate and keep a standoffish and official attitude even towards their closest coworkers and siblings-in-arms to dull an eventual tragedy whilst others maintain that building bonds with their peers who will often come to be key to their success and survival alike is essential.
- Reputation: To the Order of Wonosa, Penumbra is one of their most vital yet mysterious aspects. Obviously integral for the cult's survival and success yet purposefully obscured in their operations and membership through the necessity of security. For those outside of the Order they can range from chilling and clever adversaries to pale imitations of greater Sith Intelligence groups that predate them and everything in-between.
- Curios: Aside from access codes to Penumbra data and Wonosan systems, due to the nature of their work they rarely have any consistent unified items or markings. None that are unique to Penumbra itself at least.
- Rules: As with all Wonosan components, Penumbra is dominated by the philosophies of the Sith Code and the Kotsûshatul Itsu as the backbones of their ideology and outlook. More specifically however, they are practitioners of the discreet and knowers of the unknown. They mislead and force misinterpretations, always careful to never let their full presence or goals be discovered. In particular, any good Penumbra agent will die before capture and will never leave any sort of trail that can be traced back to the Order of Wonosa.
- Goals: Penumbra exists to further the interests and goals of the Order of Wonosa as well as secure and safeguard its very existence, however they do have some more specific goals that are being worked towards in tandem with their daily affairs. Chief among them being the spreading of Wonosan influence and ideology across the galaxy and laying the groundwork for the primacy of Darth Strosius within the Sith Order, to the best of their ability at least.
