Lily arrived a little late for the event and she wasn't sure how to approach the matter. They were handing out Echo Stones but Lily still had the one she received during the training with Romi where the Jedi Master had a vision about Briana. Recalling that training session, Lily felt like a life time ago, it was back when Lily had little control over the Force. Now, Lily was no Force Master and she doubted that she would be launching awesome displays of power that other Jedi could do but there was control, she could buff herself and display feats of combat skills few others could match.

Especially for still being a Padawan.

She was seeing the course as a taster for how she would be in preparations for her Knight trials. Lily was getting keen for achieving her next rank and it was something that Lily saw as more plausible than she had months ago. Lily always seen it as an impossibility, something others were worthy of but not for her. However, since her recovery on Eshan where she constructed her Lightsaber, Lily felt more confident in herself and in the abilities that she could use. Her fighting styles adapting to include more Jedi moves and combat sets in general.

Breathing in deeply, Lily looked around to see if there was anyone still seeking someone to form a team with or if she was going to be exploring the course on her own. Stepping up to the first leg of the course, Lily looked ahead to see others already completing the first portion of this challenge.

Facing the first leg of the challenge, Lily boosted her physical traits with the Force, leaping up and grabbing onto the ledge. The cold winds were piercing but Lily was comfortable every step of the way. Moving up, the weather reminded her of home, facing bitterly cold winters with the rain, snow and winds. However, she endured the cold breeze here as the Force guided her movements. Thankful that she was using a big of Force Valour to ensure her body could handle the rough climb without expending too much physical stamina for the upcoming challenges ahead.

Once, she reached the top, Lily breathed out a sigh of relief as she ensured her hair was in a tight ponytail still. Looking at the bridges that they were having to walk over, Lily groaned. She hated precarious bridges, especially with powerful winds to increase the instability of them. The slippery surfaces would make it even worse as well. This was something that had to be taken at a measured pace, no rushing around and attempting to jump to the end. Likely best results would be to have a barrier with the Force to prevent her being hit too hard with the winds.

Stepping forward, Lily tapped into the Force, raising a splayed hand out and feeling the Force push from her body and create a barrier that forced the winds to circle around Lily. Avoiding her completely and allowing the young Padawan to continue moving forward. Stepping onto the bridge, Lily moved at a steady pace, knowing that she had to reach the other side and join with people that she spotted that she could team up with. The focus on moving forward and not getting left behind ensure that Lily wasn't failing and falling behind in the trials here now, she was determined to get them through trial 2 the best that she could.

But so far, this gauntlet seemed easy enough, Lily was considering telling Briana that she had designed something perhaps too simple. That they needed to have a much more challenging course to test the Padawans. Or at least, she was wanting to attempt a much harder course so she could push herself to the max.

Arriving at the pair that she had decided to tag along with, "hey, I'm Lily. Saw you two and wanted to check that it would be okay for be to join your team?"

The winds continued to howl and roar loudly in his ears. Kas tapped a finger on his Echo Stone making sure it was there. Not use it yet. His mind aware and sharp when he began to cast the Fore outwards where the energy began to form around his figure. A Force Barrier formed over the young Corellian Jedi and this allowed crossing the bridges to be less challenging after he had assisted his team-mate Voli Cholrass Voli Cholrass as they began.

Inhaled deeply and exhaled out slowly to calm any nerves to help relax his body while progressing further with the Field Trial that the Grandmaster, Jedi Knight Briana Sal-Soren Briana Sal-Soren assigned to all participants. Mindful of his team-mate and remembered a little discussion Kas had with his master, Jedi Knight Aiden Porte Aiden Porte to always help others around him. In between the suspension bridges there were slippery and narrow ledges to navigate through.

There not taxing himself into a lowered fatigue level Kas began to use the Force to control the jumps and leaps he had to perform. Displayed signs of demonstrating the Force ability known as Controlled Descent to advance through the First Leg's obstacles but kept an eye out for Voli too. Remembered team work being a vital key while progressing further. He paused when Lily Decoria Lily Decoria had made it to the end with him.

"Hey Lily, I'm Kas. Appreciate you joining us both. You're more than welcomed, Lily. I'm keeping an eye on Voli as we go. Here to make it together ahaha. Never done anything like this. How about you?"
Kas said.

There were perhaps a few other Knights and Masters on stand-by or observing that Kas knows of. He wanted to do them proud, names like Brandyn Sal-Soren Brandyn Sal-Soren and Lossa Aureus Lossa Aureus who he had met on Naboo. His mind remains focused on his team, the tasks at hand and perform to the best he can with his team.

"Bah. Basic stuff. Like maintenancing a starfighter." A frown crossing her features now as she rambled. "You settle in to fix one thing and it turns into seven. Faulty actuator that leads you to a relay but it turns out its just the gas seal that's faulty and throwing the code source down the lind. But only realizing that after you've got all the other parts and most of it tore apart."

She still hadn't got Skid put back together. A subtle reminder of things she had meant to work on but just hadn't for this easy excuse or that one.

The little droids memory core a near permanent fixture on her own workshop table.

A thing to work on for Zeriana maybe since Skid wouldn't be of much use to his original owner.

Briana watched the groups with intent as Lossa slid the echo stone into a pocket. Finding a decent pebble to begin fidgeting with in its place. Zeriana was napping inside for the moment, thankfully after a full belly. And Lossa felt strangely out of sorts without her hands full.

Zer was still wary of Briana but beginning to open up enough to at least say hello before disappearing into Lossa's robes to hide.

Progress was progress though. Even if it only a few toes towards it.

The slight comlink chatter came through crystal clear to despite the rain as Lossa gave her cousin a sideways glance.

"Motivator One? What do–no." The frown shifting to a grin now as she tossed the pebble in her hand. "No, I want to be surprised. Never mind. Don't spoil whatever that is."

“Right Kas,” Voli said walking alongside her fellow Paddie walking like a child who had been scolded by their parents for eating cookies before dinner. The group outing was still awkward for her even with her attempts to try to fit in. “Let’s beat out the competition yeah?” The Padawan snapped her fingers as a Force Barrier formed around her.

“Definitely as confident as Zoey Bradiss Zoey Bradiss at her Hockey games,” Voli thought.

She took a deep breath remembering what her Master taught her, Voli began to jump as soon as Kas Larsen Kas Larsen jumped trusting herself with the Force. Voli landed as gracefully as she can nearly tripping in the process but landed safely regardless. "Hello," Voli smiled at the large woman in front of her. Her arms were as large as her entire body. But Dreidi Xeraic Dreidi Xeraic did teach Voli that people were luminous beings instead of crude matter.

"Still intimidating though." Voli thought.

Objective: Undergo the Field Trial | Complete the Second Leg | Work with the Team

Once his two team mates were through the First Leg: Wind-Shear Crossing successfully and was preparing for the Second Leg: Spire Run. Different strategy and tactics were required to complete this section of the Field Trial. Kas was on his way with Lily and Voli to the next part of the Field Trial being cautious as he went...

Two Weeks Prior...

Another day in the Shiraya Sanctuary's Training Course and Kas was practicing with Caden and Kharis, the waterfall crashing down as if lightning and thunder struck down. The water flow coursing throughout the grounds while the trio stood on the pillar-like platforms surrounded by mist and water.

Caden, Kas and Kharis had been practicing their applications of Telekinesis while using the Training Course. It is common and a large tree to learn, practice and study varied forms of Telekinesis as Jedi. Creating alternative paths or even using objects to protect themselves from harms way and more.

Next the three were expanding the Environmental Awareness, avoiding certain traps and so on but with their practice of Telekinesis and combining the ability called Inertia allowed Caden, Kas and Kharis to peform feats such as wall-running across cliff faces to reach various points to progress and even ceilings of caves they ran through as if they were circling from the ground to a wall up onto the roof and back down.

"We're getting the hang of these new abilities. Making progress at least huh Kas?" Caden said while he sat down on a pile of rocks as he took a few moments to rest up. Glanced to the path ahead of them.

"Looks like we can use those cliff tops to climb our way up to the next platforms up ahead." Kas said as he stood beside Caden and then Kharis was examining the obstacle the three were faced with.

"This will be good practice to try out how our Force Jumps work for us." Kharis said as she dashed off to build up some distance and channelled energy through her body to leap across a space between cliff ridges.

Caden and Kas smiled, followed suit after their sister to perform the ability Force Jump soared across the cliff valley to reach other cliff tops and platforms. Even to points where they went upwards instead of climbing but didn't exhaust themselves whilst making their way up to various areas in the Training Course.

Caden, Kas and Kharis helped one another by gripping each other's arms and hands to haul and pull themselves up to stand after making it to specific points of interest to take in the sights and views.

"Think we'll be ready for our turns in that Field Trial the Grandmaster sent to you Kas?" Caden asked his big brother taking in the view and having a few moments to recharge spent energy.

Kharis smiled as she ruffled Caden's head of hair and chuckled while shrugging her off him. "You'll get your opportunity in no time Cade. Might do some Trials with me maybe, who knows." Kharis said with a grin.

"You're both more than ready. Probably best we do team-up with others that we're not familiar with though. It'll make us stronger for the future ahead." Kas said to Caden and Kharis as they stood watching the waterfall.

Present Day...

The rain battered down onto Kas, it did sting and the wind continues to howl like a wolf calling out for its pack. Momentarily the Padawan Learner's eyes were closed shut when remembering his time spent back on Naboo - going through the Shiraya Sanctuary's Training Course that helped him prepare for this Field Trial.

Banded together with Lily and Voli as he headed along through toward a maze containing ridgelines and stone spires. His awareness was up, being on guard while pacing towards the Second Leg obstacle.

Kas took in the surrounding environment not only using his eyes but his ears too, he heard rocks falling which indicated to him that Rockslides were active within this sector of the Second Leg in the Field Trial. The late teenaged Padawan Learner took a breath and would go first to endure what was out there.

"Careful with the environment here. We could use some rocks to carve out a path or protect us slightly from this rain to avoid slipping anywhere along this route."
Kas said to Lily and Voli while he took a few small stones into his right hand since he heard water flowing. Probably from a river or stream nearby.

It appeared too straight forward for Kas when heading towards the maze section of this leg. Looked to the ground as he threw one of the small stones he picked up. It sunk down beneath the ground and that informed him there were sinkholes throughout to be cautious of.

"We've got sinkholes and rockslides to be aware of guys." Kas called out to Lily and Voli thinking communication would be a vital key for working within his team.

Continued on where Kas utilised some Pathrunning via using both Force Jump and Inertia to proceed through the maze, ridgelines. It wasn't perfect - some rocks that fell from above Kas did catch and hit an arm and leg of his caused a stumble or few as he weaved through.
"Ah sith-spit!"

Briefly for a few moments Kas got caught up in the streambed's unpredictable current making him slide and slip to a stumble but managed to picked himself back up nearing the end. When he finished getting through the Second Leg a thought in using Telekinesis on the larger rocks that could fall down on Lily or Voli may prove useful where he can either create another path to avoid the sinkholes and streambed's currents.

So he did just that when Kas turned his attention back towards the path he took and timed it when there was another Rockslide. Reached out to into the Light-side of the Force to wrap energy around some rocks he could hold up to create an alternative path that Lily and Voli can use to get through where he is now.

"Use some of the Rocks levitating from the ground to avoid any sinkholes and that streambed's current. It caught me off-guard. Rockslides can still happen so watch out!" Kas shouted out as loud as he could.

He hoped Lily and Voli could hear him over to the other side in where this maze's descent would begin. The rain continued to hammer down like nails and the wind screeching throughout.

The wind was something else, she thought she’d experienced severe weather before but each gust pressed in like a judgment. It was cold and merciless, peeling at Bastila’s cloak and lashing against her face with fingers of ice and dust. Other teams had already moved, Bastila and hers had not.

The ledge before her narrowed to less than the width of her foot. Below, the cliffs dropped away into a depthless void, the echoes of ancient rockfalls swallowed by the clouds far beneath.

She didn’t move yet, to the observer maybe it was hesitation, but for Bastila. She was just giving everyone else a head start.

She placed one gloved hand against the cliff wall, eyes half-lidded, allowing herself a moment to listen and to feel. She took in the vibrations of the wind, the creak of the rock beneath her, the breath of the mountain itself. The air held stories here. Of Jedi who had passed before. Of those who had not.

Control, she reminded herself. You are the master of your own.

She inhaled. Slowly. Sharply. Then reached for the Force.

It came like sunlight filtering through storm clouds. Not warmth, precisely, but clarity. Her limbs no longer shivered. Her breath no longer fogged. The wind was still cruel, but it no longer seeped into her bones. It became something she could observe, not simply endure. She had learned Tapas on Jakku, where the nights froze ones soul and the days cooked.

She took her first step onto the ledge. The rock was slick, sloped with the residue of mountain rain. Every instinct screamed to press closer to the wall and to flatten to it, to cling to what was safe. But that wasn’t the path forward.

“Right let’s move.” She declared to the others. She had to show some element of teamwork, Briana had said so. She was confident that she could do anything in this, but with others slowing her down? No they are helping you.

Spacer

Her foot slipped.

Only slightly. A half-step where the rock crumbled, where the water had caused the mountain to give way. It caused her heart to lurch, but only through the feeling of vertigo, the rest of her body didn't.

She had managed a quick barrier of energy around her, not a wall, a shell. It flowed around her like a flexible and shaped tidebreak, allowing the wind to pass around her instead of through. A temporary cocoon. It allowed her time, it allowed her to keep moving.

Each gust became a question to her abilities; Are you certain? With each step, Bastila answered; Yes.

She looked back through the rain, the shapes of the others were there. Somewhere she could feel them, but she had to press on. She had to catch up.

She didn’t fight the wind, it was too strong. That had been her mistake before, in other trials, in other arguments. Arguments with her siblings. Arguments with herself. She realised that trying to master everything, to force stillness where it did not belong was never going to work.

No, now she knew that she had to allow it to flow, to adjust her rhythm with each breath. Like a dancer across glass.

“Right let’s move.”

"Absolutely".

There was no hesitation in Balun's response; he was simply ready and glad to hear the same for his teammate. Both arms kept his cloak tightly wrapped around his torso as he set forward, walking with a steady pace yet keeping in mind the terrain as well as Bastila Sal-Soren Bastila Sal-Soren , who had taken the lead. As for other members of the team, Balun wasn't aware who was joining them or not. Only that Bastila had told him that they were paired up together; He had, of course, pointed out the difference in numbers, but whether or not that had changed anything, he hadn't heard over the rushing wind that drowned out almost everything around them.

Typically, Balun was the type to take the initiative, but then he was also usually working on his own. This exercise was designed to test them all, and their ability to share the spotlight. To consider their decision-making and how their actions affected not only themselves but those around them.

Visibility seemed to be at an all-time low. The rain was in a complete downpour, forcing Balun's eyes to squint through it. His left arm rose to try to shield his face as he stared ahead, watching Bastila's back as he followed her, trusting in where she was leading him. Considering the objective, it would have been a great idea had he brought his "Navi" personal A.I bracelet, but the thought hadn't occurred to him until now. Regardless, trust in your team was a large part of what made a tight-knit group, he supposed.

Ahead, Bastila's form took an untoward turn, looking as if she were losing her balance. The Force surged, Balun reading its calling as a warning, though it could as well have been his sensing Bastila's exertion of her abilities as she tried to shield herself. Reaching out with his right arm, he sought to aid her in her stability by summoning the ethereal energies that flowed throughout the living world around them, the Force gathered through his attunement with the natural world, establishing a telekinetic barrier to Bastila's vulnerable side in a bid to keep her from falling down the side of the clifface.

Grinning to the pair, "we got this don't worry! We nailed that first pair of the course." Lily was determined to offer encourage and unwavering confidence in moving forward. Lily scanned her eyes forward and noted the differing paths to take through the mazes and the skills that they needed to get across. Looking over to her group, "deep breaths and keep focus on your feet. Easy to slip and fall during this." Lily stated as she moved forward. Her body displaying the grace and balance that should be associated with an Echani.

Moving through this portion of the gauntlet, it was trickier than the first portion but as Lily moved forward, she wasn't feeling too concerned. Her steps were poised and when she leaped, Lily moved with the natural grace that it didn't seem out of place that Lily could jump as far as she was. Lily was definitely feeling more and more confident in her abilities and the improvements that she had displayed over the time as a Jedi. Seeing a rockslide coming towards the party, Lily instinctively raised her hand and lifted the rocks in the air. Holding them in place to ensure they did not wipe out the party.

"Go, go. I got this." Lily stated in a calm tone, slowly moving the rockslide away from the party and others who might end up following them. It wasn't just important in keeping her team safe but she needed to keep the others in this race safe as well. Placing the rocks down gently, Lily let out a satisfied sigh. Not feeling the stinging rain in that moment as she admired the progress she had made as a Jedi.

Things were moving in a positive direction.

"Not much further now! We can make it to the summit without an issue!" Lily stated boldly, daring her Master, the course to set her a task that she could not overcome currently. It was a little arrogant but Lily wanted to relish the small moment of success and sensation of achievement when there had been months where she felt weaker than she had been when she joined the Order.

Journal Entry:
.

LEG TWO: “Spire Run”
Location: Lower Ravine, Maze of Spires
Time: 0624 Local
Temp: Still “Eadu degrees” aka “why do my bones hurt?”

One leg in, one minor wind burn on my cheek, and we’re still in it.

Saphira didn’t slow. Neither did I.

Soon as we cleared the last of the rope bridge and hit solid stone again, we spotted the next marker pulsing faintly on our datapads—just beyond a ridgeline that looked like someone carved it with a serrated blade. Thin switchbacks. Narrow drops. And in the distance?

The Spire Maze.

Massive needles of rock, jutting out like the planet's own broken teeth. Water ran between them, carving little death traps just deep enough to swallow you whole if you weren’t looking.

And the wind?

Worse. Lower. Faster. Angrier.

Saphira looked at me once. I gave a small nod.

We moved.

---

Tactic One: Pathrunning / Terrain Awareness
We dropped elevation fast, switching between slide-stabilized descents and ledge hopping. I marked two potential sinkholes, one streambed whirlpool (nasty little thing hiding under leaf buildup), and three unstable ridges with my HUD tags.

Saphira saw them all too. I swear, half the time we weren’t avoiding obstacles — we were playing the terrain like a rhythm exercise. If it had a beat, we were moving on it.

She cut left across a collapsed overhang without slowing.
I Force-jumped over a gnarled gap just ahead of her and rolled into cover.
No wasted motion. No second guesses.

This? This was fun.
In a “we could die, but not today” kind of way.

---

Tactic Two: Force Jump & Stream Surge
We hit the first streambed together and the current was stronger than it looked — glacial runoff funneled into this narrow channel like a sentient firehose.

Saphira didn’t wait. She launched with a clean, zero-waste Force jump onto a mossy spire and kept going like she’d trained on this exact planet. I tracked her arc, calculated my own angle, and—

—Splash.

Okay, more of a soft landing in a knee-deep stream trench than a jump. Not bad, not ideal.
I moved to climb out when—

"I've got—"
Hand out. To help her up the next ledge.

She looked back—brows lifted—and vaulted up without me.

Didn’t need the help. Nailed it.

Which is great.

But now my hand was just… floating there. Like an idiot.

For a second I panicked.
Did that look like I was—?
Oh no.

"Not like that," I muttered, shaking my head like someone trying to clear water out of his ears.
"Just being polite. Not a ‘thing.’ I have boundaries. We’re Jedi. You’re scary competent. I’m an awkward disaster. It’s fine.”

I jumped after her.

---

Tactic Three: Rockslide Control / Telekinesis
Mid-run, a tremor rippled through the spire field. One of the taller columns cracked and dropped a massive chunk of debris directly into our path.

Saphira slowed, but didn’t flinch. I extended both hands, swept wide, and pushed.

The chunk exploded sideways—into a smaller boulder that I redirected with a spin move like I was playing pinball with the Force.

“Clear!” I called.

She gave a very small nod.
I may have imagined the corner of her mouth twitch upward.
Or maybe my vision was freezing over again. Who knows.

---

Tactic Four: The Grab (Again)
Near the end of the leg, we had to cross a narrow ledge slicked with rain runoff, moss, and doom. She moved ahead, fluid as ever—but one foot slipped.
Just a little.

I reached out, reflexively—light grip on her forearm, just enough to stabilize.

She caught her balance without even looking.

"Sorry," I said, yanking my hand back.
“You had it. I just—”

She didn’t answer.

Just kept moving.

Which is… fine.

I totally didn't spend the next five minutes replaying that exact moment and spiraling into a completely unnecessary internal monologue like:

Did that feel weird? Did I linger too long? Did she think I was trying to hold her hand? What if she thinks I’m the kind of guy who uses Force obstacles to flirt? Is that a thing people do??

Conclusion:
I should’ve kept my hands to myself.
Next time she falls off a cliff, I will respect her autonomy.

---

Completion Time:
We cleared the final spire and hit the next beacon ahead of three other teams.
Breathing hard. Soaked. Grinning like idiots.
Or… I was.
Saphira mostly just looked like she’d done her morning stretches.

Still.
We crushed it.
And that felt really good.

Two legs down.
Team’s still intact.
Still haven’t fallen off a cliff, emotionally or physically.

Calling that a win.

They won't motivate me!

Wait? That doesn't sound right.

She had to admit, she was a little fun though the exercises were a bit dry albeit challenging. "Nowhere near the death trap Master placed me in." Current Day...

Kas was at the end of the Second Leg - the Spire Run having applied Telekinesis having created a path for Lily and Voli his two teammates going through the Field Trial set by the Grandmaster. The loose rocks staying in place but when another rock slide came down Kas attempted to tune into his Echo Stone. To boost his application in using Telekinesis on additional rocks but the connection wasn't solid.

Not completely disrupting the held rocks he used prior to the rock slide it was those that recently came into the fold Kas wasn't able to apply the Force around them. They just bashed and fell down into the sink holes and stream below.
"Sylop (translation - Idiot) Kas." Kas muttered in Old Corellian tongue. He waited at the end of the Spire Run for Lily and Voli. Ready to communicate and use his abilities in the Force he practiced.

"Are you guys doing alright? I did try to use more rocks but think my Echo Stone connection failed. Be careful if you can hear me." Kas shouted out as best and as loud as he could to Lily and Voli.

Kas was thinking back to when he was preparing himself with Caden and Kharis back on Naboo in the Shiraya Sanctuary's Training Course. The Padawan Learner was practicing Force abilities such as Force Jump, Force Barrier and Breath Control.

2 Weeks Prior...

It was quiet on Naboo, just nature and animals sounding off in the background as three students; Caden, Kas and Kharis kept going with the training regime set-up. Caden and Kharis supporting Kas to prepare for the Field Trial on Eadu that the Grandmaster Briana Sal-Soren Briana Sal-Soren recruited him to participate in the task.

Over by the waterfall in the Training Course there they were doing some practice of learning how to apply and use the Force ability Breath Control. They went to a cavern that had a deep pool of water and dove into it to start wrapping themselves up with Force energy. It was gathered around to their lungs extending their normal timespan of holding their breath underwater. They did resurface out of the pool when necessary.

The trio swam back up to float around at the surface while taking breaks from using the Force to apply Breath Control on themselves.

"Phew. You're both doing great in keeping up. I'll recommend a Field Trial with the Grandmaster. I won't ascend into Knighthood without you two promoted or nearing that role." Kas said to Caden and Kharis.

"Ahaha stop worrying about us, Kas. We will all become Jedi Knights together no matter what." Kharis said in response to Kas. She was really glad that her twin brother cared about others more than himself.

"Yeah! Kay's right we made it through CorSec Academy and became officers back home. I ended up becoming one of the youngest to pass through ahaha." Caden said to his brother and sister with a smile.

Kas smiled to Caden and Kharis where he was remembering their days back home and having gone through CorSec together. It was good to have this familial and sibling bond between them all. Though it may be a double-edged sword at times but they took the good times away a lot not wasting any of it.

The trio nodded their heads to each after regaining some energy and strength from their break to resume their practice and training of Breath Control more. The preparation was taken seriously and Kas wasn't a slouch, neither were Caden or Kharis. They'll always push 110% into anything they commit energy and time towards with their Jedi training and upbringing. Carrying on their parents' legacies as Jedi.
