DESCRIPTION
The Pantora Mining Company is the premier exporter operating out of Pantora. The business, through its large Installation B2 mining facility on Orto Plutonia, mines of a number of precious ores and materials which it then sells to the highest bidder. The business was founded through private investment, though has recently gone public and is a keystone of the Pantoran economy. The CEO, the leader of the expansionist party In Pantora, and a repetitive in the Pantoran Assembly due to his government position has recently publicly declared large sums of political donations made from the company, to the party. At a glance, the business appears to be a success story following the sith incursion of Pantora that left the moon in flames.
As the company is registered and incorporated in Pantora, the company pays tax on all of its profits to the Pantoran government. However, its operations on Orto Plutonia are outside the control of the Pantoran assembly, and thus it enjoys relaxed freedom on its operations. This relaxed freedom has seen the remaining local population of Talz following the sith war diminish through pollution and conflict over the site; something the Pantoran Assembly turn a blind eye to.
RATIONALE
The Pantora Mining Company was founded out of the flames that the Sith left following their excursion to Pantora in search of a relic that left millions dead.
With a small inheritance left to Chu Bornbazin by his parents, the company was incorporated on Pantora, and a handful of exploration missions on Orto Plutonia were undertaken in search of valuable minerals, by taking core samples from the planet. These explorations identified a number of valuable resources, including precious ores, under the thick ice of the planet that the company would begin exploiting.
Mining on the planet and the precious ores discovered would help kick start the economy of Pantora. The Pantora Mining Company would provide jobs to a region in need of recovery, and in a handful of years would see the Pantora Mining Company become one of the most profitable businesses in the system, headed by an ambitious man. The company would become the predominant exporter from Pantora, and a keystone of the Pantoran economy.
