Chu was on the moon of Pantora, a technologically advanced world that orbited the frigid tundra planet known as Orto Plutonia. His family was modest, his upbringing conventional, and his childhood no different to any other in the middle class of society. While Chu was far from the poverty line, he, however, did not revel in the luxuries that high class enjoyed.
He was the only child of his father Akin and mother Tala, who operated a regional transportation and shipping company called ATB Shipping that operated exclusively on Pantora as a fleet of 4 run-down transporter ships. The money afforded from the business would later pay for Chu's education, as his parents felt that Chu should have the opportunities in life that they did not.
Chu was a fast learner at school and quickly advanced through classes until he was ahead by two years. This educational success would follow him into university, where he would study a double degree in geology and mechanics, graduating in the top one percentile of both classes.
After graduating Chu had aspired to set up his own company with a small loan provided by his parents, but everything changed when the Sith came the day after his graduation. The Sith brought war to the planet in search of some artefact. They did not come for conquest, but to ravage the planet, and so they did. Millions were killed, cities destroyed, and the planet left engulfed in flames for years.
Chu, like many men his age, was conscripted into the Pantoran army to defend the moon. Due to Chu's high IQ and advanced education, he served as an officer in intelligence which kept him away from the front line, but not always from danger. He would survive the war and several near misses, unlike many of the men he undertook basic training with, and unlike his family.
Out of the dying flames of war, Chu would incorporate his own business, the Pantoran Mining Company. The small inheritance left to Chu by his parents would fund a handful of exploration missions on Orto Plutonia in search of valuable minerals. These explorations would identify a number of valuable resources under the thick ice of the planet that the company would begin exploiting.
Mining on the planet would help kick start the economy of Pantora, and would provide jobs to a region in need of recovery. A handful of years would see the Pantora Mining Company become one of the most profitable businesses in the system, headed by an ambitious man who now had a taste of wealth. The company would become the predominant exporter from Pantora, and a keystone of the Pantoran economy.
The profits did not come without a cost, however. Mining on Orto Plutonia caused vast pollution to the planet, and the remnants of the natives from the sith war, the Talz, were pushed back into the mountains to protect the mining sites. Where force was required, Chu was not afraid to order this, however, this remained very low profile in Pantora, as Oto Plutonia was out of the control of the government.
With his newfound connections, vast wealth, and commercial success, Chu would become a representative of the government, with his own policies and motivation, as the head of the expansionist party.

APPEARANCE:
Like many of his species, Chu has pastel blue skin that shimmers slightly in the sun. Adorning each of his cheeks are striking golden tattoos, two diagonal lines on each that pierce down towards his mouth. The vibrancy of the tattoos are only dulled by his piercing gold eyes set against his jet black, well-kept hair.
Chu is slightly above average height for a Pantoran, and his well-built and muscular frame is accentuated by his form-fitting, tailored, formal clothing.
