Our Own Little Shadowport

His hand slowly slipped away from her face as she moved to sit up.

"Gamma Centarii 37731." Munin said with a smile.

That sequence of of numbers would of course mean little to her, but it would mean very little to anyone that wasn't a cartographer or very obsessed with local starmaps. Munin had done that for a reason, and it was primarily for the sake of their privacy.

"It's a Star system a little out of the way." He explained as he looked up at her. "It has three planets, only one that is habitable, and its completely empty."

As were it's two moons.

"The planet doesn't have a name." It was better that way.

The less could be tracked the better it was. That was why he had chosen this place, why he'd used droids, and why all of the resources had been routed through fifteen different shell companies. Even if someone picked up the trail, the likely of them tracking this place down was...well nearly impossible.

"Empty?" Blonde-brows shot up in surprise. An entire uninhabitable planet was quite something. Sure there were endless systems and worlds but still, there always seemed to be someone. Locals. Displaced people groups.

The blanket slipped down her shoulders as she sat up a bit straighter.

"That...impressive." He was an information broker. Made sense that of all people, he'd be able to find something like this. "What's the climate like?"

"Depends on where you go. Overall it's a temperate world though." Munin said as he shifted slightly and slowly rose, looking over towards the cockpit. They only had a few minutes before they arrived, and he wanted to make sure everything was in order with the ship.

"Where we're headed it's warm most of the time." He assured her. "Though it tends to rain a lot."

Not like they tended to go outside much anyway.

He smiled at her, and then offered his hand. She could stay in the hold of course, but he thought that she might want to join him in the cockpit and check out the planet as they arrived. It was a pretty enough site, at least he thought so anyway.

She gave him a thoughtful look. Warm climate? He knew enough not to make her go cold. She took his hand and stood, slipping free from the blanket. Fingers smoothed down her slightly rumpled clothes and she followed him back into the cockpit.

Bony-butt slid into the co-pilot's seat.

Fingers went to strap back on the crash-webbing.

"Okay, Mun. Spill. What exactly did you do?" Blue-eyes shifted from the viewport back to the information broker.

" I got us a place." Munin said with a smile.

Then he quickly began to talk again.

"I know it's a bit presumptuous, and early in a normal relationship." But there relationship wasn't normal. "I just thought...I just thought it would be nice to have a place for us to go. Somewhere away from everyone else. It's like an apartment."

He shied a bit.

"With a little more space."

They dropped out of hyperspace, revealing the planet below.

Blonde-brows lofted. Blue-eyes squinted from the viewport and back at Munin's profile. "With a little more space?" Eyes twinkled.

#whatdidthisdudedo???

Empty. No one else. A secluded cluster of stars. It sounded safe. Just like she felt on her ship and at Gabe's. It would be nice to have one more safe place. Safe for both of them. Bony-shoulders relaxed slightly against the back of the seat.

"I'm excited to see it," she spoke quietly.

Munin smiled, nodding slowly.

They drifted quickly into the atmosphere, the ship taking them down towards the planets surface until they reached a massive ocean. For a brief few moments they flew over the sea, Munin looking over towards Spark every now and again, checking to see if she was alright. Every time she caught him looking he would give her a smile, then quickly look away. Eventually, a piece of land appeared upon the horizon, quickly growing and stretching through their view.

"There." He took one hand from the controls and pointed towards a set of distant cliffs.

Within the rocky outcropping of the cliffs Spark would see a slight glint at first, light reflecting off of a series of bright glass windows. They stretched into the cliff itself, rounding a corner and introducing light to what was likely a sort of common room.

Below the cliffs sat a hangar, doors slowly sliding open as they approached.

"Wow," she breathed, eyeing that cliff. Reminded her of the thranta Rekha had tried to make her ride off that platform on Cloud City. Restraint was off before they even landed. She turned to Mun as the opening I. The cliff face swallowed them up. There was a moment of darkness before the hanger lights flickered on.

"How did you manage all this?"

#sneakysneak

When had they last seen eachother? A month? Maybe a few? It would usually take a galactic standard year to build something like this.

"Construction droids." Munin told her. "There's a company that operates out here, I managed to reroute one of their ships that had been meant for storage. The droids were mostly old models, but there were...well a lot of them."

That was how he'd gotten this built so quickly.

The drones had numbered in the thousands. Some of them had been faulty, but a few repair drones had made sure they functioned well enough. From there it had been pretty simple to program what he wanted built, how he wanted it built, and the specifications for all of it. The entire thing had been...well easy in theory, but in practice had caused him more than a few headaches. The end result was more than worth it however, not to mention cheap.

"It's how Huginn and I have built a few of our safe houses." No one asked too many questions when old and broken construction drones went missing, especially when they later appeared exactly where they were supposed to.

Simple really.

"Just happened to go missing, huh?" She shot him a look.

Slipping from the seat, she went to the back of the shuttle. The ramp was already lowered. The blonde slicer looked around a bit hesitantly. Glasses were adjusted and she snatched the little bag she packed.

"Is...your sister here? Now?"

[member="Spark Finn"]

He shook his head. "She's on Nar Shaddaa."

The fact that he told her that was a mark of just how much he trusted her.

Usually Huginn and Munin tried to keep their locations as secret as possible. Their identities were already hidden, and most of their client meetings were conducted through a hologram, sharing anything about themselves, especially where they actually were was a massive...well security breach. The fact that he told Spark meant quite a bit, though whether or not she would recognize that fact actually remained to be seen. He smiled and walked passed her.

"She also doesn't know about this place." He hadn't lied to her, in fact she had never asked. Huginn knew better. "I told you."

He turned towards her. "Just for you and I."

"Nar Shaddaa?" Blonde-brows rose as she spoke quietly. That's where she'd met the Jedi master, so long ago who had changed the course of her life. That part she still remembered even after the technovirus. It hadn't robbed her of everything.

There was a pressure in her chest as her thoughts drifted briefly to Qun Vel.

Head tilted on her slender neck as she took in more of their surroundings. Blue eyes met back with blue. "Maybe the Alliance should hire you," she joked quietly and smiled.

Converse shoes carried her to his side as she followed him for a tour. She was still too much in awe to say anything else.

Munin of course had no interest at all in working for the Alliance. They were good guys, and that meant they had rules, he didn’t do well with rules. This entire apartment had been built by...well breaking more than a few laws. So instead of answer Spark the Infochant simply lead her out of the hangar and up the stairs.

”There’s five rooms.” He told her as they wandered up the stairs, door sliding open.

Beyond the doors sat a living room, connected to it a large kitchen separated by a bar. The living room sprawled in front of a massive pane of glass that curved and stretched with the cliffside, a row of comfortable couches sitting in the middle of the room.

”Living room.” He pointed. ”Kitchen.”

He moved her through the center of the living room. ”Down there is the server room, and over there are bedrooms and bathrooms.”

"Five rooms?" She looked at him questioningly. Footsteps took her around the expansive space, fingertips brushing over the furniture and surroundings. Munin might notice that she shied away from those cliff side windows. It was beautiful but she wasn't quite ready for heights yet.

Opening up a cabinet in the kitchen, she smiled. All her favorite snacks were there: bbq chips, chocochews, and strawberry gumsticks. The cabinet closed with a soft thud.

Turning on her heel, she immediately wandered toward the server room. It would probably end up being her favorite room in the house. #duh #technopath

Her mind could already feel the gentle thrum of the technology through the force, begging her to dive on in.

”Gonna be chilly in there.” He told her as she wandered towards the Server room. The tech in there was of course state of the art, most of it purchased or acquired through Vanir Technologies, a company that Munin found to be very agreeable.

”There’s terminals all throughout.” Munin said. ”The living room, Kitchen, your bedroom, my bedroom.”

One for each of them.

Munin knew well enough that Spark wasn’t quite yet comfortable with...well everything that came with being in a relationship, so when constructing this place he had taken careful measure not to create any pressure on her. He was more than willing to wait until she was ready, and thus the two bedrooms. At least until she decided she was okay with sleeping in the same bed as him.

”There’s also a pool.” He said with a smile.

That was the fifth room. Two bedrooms, each with a bathroom, the Kitchen, the Living room, and then the pool.

She staggered and paused, almost tripping on her own two feet when he said pool. #yay #suntime #butnottoomuchsuntime

"For real?!"

Converse clad-feet shifted in excitement. Warmth and water that didn't involve sand was the best. Perfect, really. "Let me peak in the server room then do you...," she could barely contain her excitement, "do you want to go to the pool?"

And throw in some of those BBQ chips, this would be the best vacation she'd had in, well, forever. Especially in a spot where she felt safe. With someone she felt safe with?

Couldn't get that at a public resort.

[member="Spark Finn"]

”Sure.” He told her with a smile.

”It’s an indoor pool though.” He told her, not knowing if that mattered. ”The roof is glass, but it can get covered by a camouflage of sorts...same with the windows in the living room.”

Why?

Well because Munin was at his heart, paranoid. This place wasn’t just another safehouse, but in a very real way it also was. It had been designed for him and Spark, but it had still been designed by him, and that meant he had taken security into the extreme. This place was meant to be hidden and tucked away.

Part of that was for himself, but another part was for Spark.

He wanted her to feel safe here, and what better way than to just...disappear?

"That's okay," voice was a bit muffled as she called from inside the server room. It was cold. #brrrr Goosebumps immediately pricked along her skin. But she didn't care.

Blue-eyes beneath lenses closed as her mind explored. She wasn't looking for anything Munin didn't want her to find or being nosy. It was more like, she was introducing herself to the house and the systems. If there was ever an emergency, she'd be able to access the server from anywhere in the house or outside.

Old habits of precaution died hard.

Blonde-haired head finally poked out. Thin-fingers rubbed up and down her chilled arms. It was one time she didn't mind the cold.

"I do t know what to say. This is a lot. Thanks, Mun."

[member="Spark Finn"]

He smiled at her.

This was what he had wanted. He had wanted her to be excited, happy, glad that he'd done this. A part of him had been afraid that she would be mad, that she would tell him he'd assumed too much and that she'd just wanted something more simple. "I'm glad you like it."

He really was.

"Pool is this way." He pointed towards the end of the hall. "I didn't get you any clothes or anything."

That would have been a bit too much.

She smiled. "I wasn't expecting that." She waved the bag on her shoulder. "Got it covered."

#duh #plushowwouldheknowmysize?!?!?! #besidesdesertgarb

She wandered down the hall and poked her head into one of the bedrooms. "Can I use this one?" Fingers fumbled in her bag for her pool gear. Glasses were adjusted on her face. At least she wouldn't need mega tons of sunblock if it was indoors.

"Meet you poolside?"
