ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Advanced stealth system
  • Medium range communications jammers
  • Adaptive camouflage hull plating
  • High Powered Ion Drive
STRENGTHS
  • Advanced Stealth System: The Specter Light Stealth Transport has a stealth system that, when engaged, lowers the ship's ambient energy emissions to near zero levels. This causes the ship's sensor echo to appear much smaller, like that of a small asteroid or piece of space debris.
  • Communication Jammers: The Specter has a powerful transmitter assembly that can broadcast a jamming signal for approximately 2,000 kilometers in each direction. This signal interrupts most basic communications tech in this area.
  • Adaptive Camouflage: The hull plating has been coated with pigment changing micro-projectors, which allows the crew to change the ship's color scheme to match their surroundings. For example, when flying in open space, the hull can be turned jet black with specs of white to simulate a normal space backdrop. If flying over or through a jungle, the hull could be turned green and brown to better blend in with the trees and native vegetation. This is not a true cloaking device and does not actually make the ship invisible, it just makes the ship more difficult to detect visually.
WEAKNESSES
  • Maintenance Heavy: The Specter class light stealth transport utilizes advanced state-of-the-art stealth technology. As such, it requires a high level of maintenance to work optimally. If maintenance is neglected, then the ship's various systems can quickly begin to malfunction to the point of being inoperable.
  • Inefficient Fuel Economy: Because of the power requirements needed for the Specters advanced stealth systems, the ship consumes fuel at nearly twice the rate of other ships of similar size used by the Silver Navy. This makes operating it for long periods of time expensive and difficult.
  • Low Defenses: The specter lacks any major defensive capability beyond the most basic deflector shield array. Instead, the Specter is designed to use its stealth and jamming systems to confuse and hide from the enemy rather than withstand a prolonged assault.
  • Signal Strength: Though the output of the signal jammer can cover a roughly 2km area, the strength of the jamming signal weakens as the distance between the source of the jamming (the ship) and any affected targets grows. At the 2km range, some basic signals can get through while at a point blank range, very little can get through. Beyond the 2km range, the signal jammer becomes so weak that it cannot be relied upon to block even the most basic of signals.

DESCRIPTION

The Specter Light Stealth Transport is a ship designed to transport small groups of troops behind enemy borders. To this end, it boasts a high rate of speed and maneuverability as well as advanced stealth systems which limit its sensor echos, adaptive camouflage hull plating which make it difficult to spot visually and powerful communication jammers to confuse and otherwise limit the enemy's ability to coordinate counterstrikes against or intercepts of the craft.

After reviewing this submission, there are two areas which stand out to me as needing changes.

1. Stealth Systems

According to your submission, the transport contains an "Advanced Stealth System" which consists of

Advanced Stealth System:
The Specter Light Stealth Transport has a stealth system that, when engaged, lowers the ship's ambient energy emissions to near zero levels. This causes the ship's sensor echo to appear much smaller, like that of a small asteroid or piece of space debris.

Paired with the Adaptive Camouflage

Adaptive Camouflage:
The hull plating has been coated with pigment changing micro-projectors, which allows the crew to change the ship's color scheme to match their surroundings.

In my opinion, this is pairing constitutes an extremely advanced stealth system, which according to the factory rules, quoted below, can only be put on a semi-unique or unique submission.

Particularly rare or powerful special features may necessitate using a lower level of production (cloaking technology, personal cloaking devices, gemcutters, crystal grav traps, moon dust, equivalent stealth or anti stealth technologies), or rare canon technologies (Hyperwave Inertial Momentum Sustainers, etc) and their equivalents will only be permitted at Semi-Unique production.

2. Communication Jammer

The Communication Jammer, while not a stealth technology is far far too powerful as you describe it. In the submission, you state that,

Communication Jammers:
The Specter has a powerful transmitter assembly that can broadcast a jamming signal for approximately 50,000 kilometers in each direction. This signal interrupts most basic communications tech in this area.

The radius of the earth is only 6,371km in size. That means this 40m ship is able to jam an area almost 8 times larger than earth in each direction. This is massively overpowered. I'm going to need you to scale this down to an area that is more reasonable if you wish to keep the specific size in there.

It's much better. 2km is still a significant area to be jammed for a 40m craft, however, modern drone jammers do have a range of roughly 1km according to my research.

However, to prevent more miscommunications during RP would you mind adding a weakness along the lines of the jamming is stronger close to the craft and weaker the further out you go, and may be defeated by a more powerful system?
