"From Death, Order."
~ Ti'Xal Codices ~

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is the Order of the One?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Order of the One is a monastic organization that believes there are many Deities and that each of these Deities has their own domain that was manifested as a Galaxy. From this, the Order of the One follows the ancient teachings of the Ti'Xal Codices that spoke of their slumbering Deity, The Great Old One. Founded on Miasma by the Dark Lady, the Listener of Whispers whom hears the whispering desires of the slumbering Great Old One. Their reason for existing is simple; The Galaxy belongs to their Deity and must be prepared for its return. The Order seeks to conquer and convert all before them and to prepare the galaxy for the arrival of their Dark God.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What are your Goals?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • Recover and restore the ancient manuscripts, Holy Relics and Artifacts of Ti'Xal
  • Spread the belief of the Great Old One and convert those before them
  • Prepare the Galaxy for the return of their ancient Deity

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What types of characters fit within the Order of the One?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Order of the One is open to a myriad of characters, as while they have their own belief, they are still knowledgeable to understand the value of allies and those that would otherwise be useful to the Order. As they do operate an organization that is akin to the Jedi Order and Sith, warriors and force users are of high value. Likewise characters from multiple backgrounds and skills can also find a place in the Order. This is due in part to the Order being split into two distinct organizations, the Order of the One itself and its subgroup the Purifiers which are structured like the Jedi Order. This means that anyone from a simple run away slave to a battle hardened warrior has their own place as long as they are willing to follow the guiding code and beliefs of the Order.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is the Guiding Code of the Order of the One?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"The Force is a Lie, there is only the Old One's Will
There is no Silence, only Whispers
There is no Sanity, only Madness
There is no Life, only Death
From Death, Order."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why should I join the Order of the One?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Order of the One is an open faction, looking to grow and offering a different although oddly morbid view of the Force. It can offer multiple and unique roleplays to aid in character development and inspiration in the telling of a character's story through multiple pathways. Joining the Order of the One would open a character to the resource of a unique planet with its own backstory and an extinct species speaking through the ages. Likewise, joining would bring you in contact with other characters that may have similar motives or merely looking for a place in which they can feel that they belong.

If need be, I am more than willing to work with the writer who has used the term Purifier first with their faction write up to ensure that there are no problems in the future.

Likewise, you'll be more than welcomed to join @Zander.

I also welcome other questions or concerns that may not be directly answered by the short Q&A, in which I included as much information as I could.

Thank you [member="Maria Natalja"] for providing the link. For the moment, until I find a suitable replacement for the name, I will continue to call them purifiers if that is okay with you.

While not directly or entirely Cthulhu by a different name, it has aspects that were inspired by the mythos, mainly that of the name of their deity, The Great Old One. In this regard, Cthulhu is a member of a pantheon loosely referred to collectively as "The Great Old Ones." Which are cosmic deities that once reigned over the earth, whom have fallen into a Deathlike Sleep. The name of the Deity and the over all formation of a cult like aspect is directly inspired by the Cthulhu mythos, however it is not directly Cthulhu by a different name, or rather it is not intended nor was it purposely done to be a Cthulhu by a different name as it also took inspiration from the Necromongers and a handful of other horror based stories.

As for the second part to the question. If there was ever a point in which a great cosmic entity were to return, as to what it has planned and should or if it even reached such a stage to be a possible Galactic problem, I would bring it to the staff for a possible site wide story if it were deemed acceptable to do so. In the terms of what the followers would do at this point or if they would live beyond this point, it would be a yes in terms of continuing the story. After all, they are the servants of the Great Old One and would continue to act as such until such a time that their service would no longer be needed or their physical and mental forms were destroyed.

No. I want people to join because it is a faction with potential that could offer a real threat in terms of expansion and the ever growing question of the dangers that are lurking in the Unknown Regions of the Galaxy. To provide the site with a potentially dangerous enemy that if done properly through creative writing, collaboration and brainstorming between members, can create unique, expansive, enjoyable plot driven threads and story arcs that could aid in the growth and changing of characters involved.

It's actually very comfy. Though while unique in itself, I don't see why we couldn't make a few more for people signing up that would like one. [member="Valeria Aetani"]

Hey now, I've seen enough hentai to know where talking about being eaten by a tentacle monster ends up. :p

Humor aside. You would be more than welcomed to join the Order if you decided to do so. [member="Valeria Aetani"]

In its simplest terms, the Order of the One is more or less a Death Cult. As long as said experimentation isn't on members and has some applicable uses for the Order, then I would see no problem with it.
