Opportunity Arises
Objective 1
TOUR OF THE NEW MEDICAL FACILITIES
With more recent technological developments within the Ascendancy,
and the appointment of a new Chief Medical Officer from within House Sabosen,
there is opportunity for military personnel to have a tour of the new facilities
that are owned and operated by the newly appointed Ruling House.
Objective 2
VIP INVITATION
A new nightclub has been renovated and prepared for opening night, and the owner
seeks to invite select VIPs to attend the pre-launch opening, to gauge attendee enjoyment
and offer a chance for last minute improvements from those attending. Enjoy a night
on the house, mingle and mind the possible underground networks being made amid
the crowd...
Objective 3
SABOTAGE ON SPOSIA
There have been rumors of a dissident group, operating from within the exiled House Qell,
that seek to poison or otherwise damage the Great Sea of Sposia, which provides the supply
of precious kolto for the medical needs of the Chiss. A classified mission has been called by
the Defense Hierarchy for the CEID to stop this event from occurring by any means, using any allies
they feel can be trusted to keep the operation a secret for public calm...
Objective X
BRING YOUR OWN OBJECTIVE

Sposia.

A central planet within the Chiss Ascendancy, it is overseen by the Ruling House Sabosen. An important part of maintaining the Ascendancy's law and order, health and education responsibilities for the culture, it comes as no surprise that Sposia's importance of providing kolto from the Great Sea is vital. The kolto producing facilities are second-to-none, providing most of the kolto supply for the entirety of the Ascendancy, especially the military. The planet itself is renown for having the top health academies and medcenters.

In an effort to expand relations and establish its position as a newly appointed Ruling House, the Sabosen Family has offered a tour of the recently completed kolto production and medical facilities, showing military and civilians the intricate methods involved in producing such an important resource for the people. Surely to be an interesting evening, there is opportunity for attendees to enjoy all manner of technologies, perhaps being witness to some demonstrations.

Meanwhile, for the more influential or excitable, a pre-launch for a nightclub has been organized. VIP invitations have been sent to select members to attend the evening, where the entertainment, food and drinks are complementary on the house. The opportunity is rife with chances to mingle, dance, enjoy some music and perhaps meet others to make connections. There are rumors of less law abiding citizens being in the crowd, offering morally ambiguous individuals a chance to further their connections to underground elements...

Additionally, a secret operation has been authorized by the Defense Hierarchy, in accordance with the CEID, to stop a possible attack on the Great Sea. Rumors indicate a small group of loyalists to exiled House Qell - formally a Ruling House in charge of health responsibilities for the Ascendancy - seek to poison or otherwise damage the kolto supply. The potential for disruption and loss to the Ascendancy is incredible, and CEID agents have been given permission to include any and all trusted allies, who can keep the operation secret, to assist in foiling any terrorizing plans.

And finally, for those seeking to find their own way on Sposia, or nearby Naporar, there remains numerous opportunities to explore and take part...

Objective II

As Marina's job as Director of the Ministry of Public Affairs grows more influential, she has come to find the need to make a good name for herself in order to further the ministry's reach. Gaining friends and allies across the galaxy was paramount in spreading the influence of the Ascendency. Marina was informed of a freshly renovated night club on Sposia that had a grand re-opening planned. This event would be the perfect venue for her to get her name out there in the world.

Marina was admiring herself in a new dress she brought for the occasion when she heard a knock at her door. "Enter." she called out. The door then slid open, revealing Marina's secretary to be the one knocking.

"Ma'am, I have your itinerary ready. Your pass to get into the opening as well."

"Send my itinerary to my datapad and I will look it over on the way there."

"Yes ma'am."

Sabotage On Sposia

Commando Transport; Above the Great Sea
Objective 3: Stop the Terrorists
It wasn't often when the CEID and Commandos worked together on a mission. It was a last resort sort of area, when a threat so vast to the Ascendancy had been revealed and Command needed all hands on base. It was ultimately why Cleru sat among the Commandos in their transport, a silenced rifle in hand that he had been obsessively checking over ever three minutes right on the dot. It helped him stay calm and focused.

Intelligence and The Commandos weren't the only groups sent on this mission. The CEDF, CSC, Viziters. Every branch had been called to send the best of their best on this mission. Millions of lives depended on it. To avoid any confusion on the mission Command had put Intelligence in charge solely because they had been the ones to uncover the threat. Which meant the Master Agent was the leader of the mission and all those who had been sent to join.

Oh, what fun that would be. Each organization had their own codes and training, so he looked forward to seeing how they all worked together. Hopefully well enough to complete the mission.

"Eyes up. We're approaching the target." He finally spoke up, standing from his seat so all in attendance could see. The agent clicked on a holoprojector that he tossed in the center, which lit up a large kolto mining facility that had been abandoned for decades. "Intel says the group of Terrorists have reactivated the mining operations throughout the factory to dig deep into the natural source before flooding it with poison to infect and corrupt the whole sea's reserves. Our job is to infiltrate and eliminate all threats before they can pump the poison out. The last reports say they don't know we're coming, so keep it quiet and we'll avoid detection easily." He pressed a button on his wrist which cause it to zoom in on a landing platform near the base of the factory by the water. "We'll be coming in low and landing here. After we've secured the location we spread out and clear floor by floor. Any questions?"

Beth felt… Somewhat out of place. In her beskar’gam, she stood out from the other Chiss troops. Thankfully, her buy’ce hid most of that awkwardness from her face. She fiddled with her blaster in her hand, unsure of exactly what to do. The only individual she knew on the ship was [member="Cleru"], the individual who invited her.

And she wasn’t here for combat, necessarily. She was mostly going to be medical. At the top of her class at the University of Sundari, Beth was coming out as a top notch doctor who could even perform surgeries in the field. Their nations had become allies and hoped to become closer over time. And a lot of her skill also came from another source – the Force. Dedicated, intense training had gifted her with a tremendous talent for Force Healing. And she used it often.

So Cleru had asked her to come along on the top-secret mission. No one could know. Beth agreed, and particularly emphasized her strict confidentiality policy in regards to keeping top secret, secret. Beth was a pro at top secret missions. Nonetheless, she was surprised they allowed her to go on the mission mostly because of the conflict of interest her and Cleru posed. But, they had resound judgement despite their feelings for each other. Maybe it wasn’t that much of a conflict, after all.

Ah, whatever. Beth’s ears perked inside her buy’ce as Cleru got up and began to speak. Eliminate the threats, quietly. Clear out each floor. Kinda like the mission on Ebaq. Beth simply nodded as she checked her ammo supplies. While no one could see, she couldn’t help but smile as Cleru spoke. The leader of the group. Plenty, her gun was ready, and her armor mostly new still after her fall a few months before.

It was official. Malicar had put in his resignation with the Chiss Expansionary Intelligence Division (CEID). After many years of serving that organization faithfully, the House Vesnam Syndic called it quits. While there were still tendrils tied to that division, he was officially gone from it. The reasoning given was so that he could concentrate on a business that his family had been running for some time: Interstellar Shipping. In truth, Malicar did indeed want to dedicate more time to his enterprises…legitimate and illegitimate.

Taking over Interstellar Shipping from an older Uncle who had become terminally ill, Malicar made sure that he landed one of the coveted VIP invitations to the pre-launch opening of the sparkling, new nightclub called "Indignant"--as a business man, not an intelligence agent. The night club was high-class with many nocks and crannies within its walls. It was a place where one could easily come to be on display or a place where one could easily disappear. Regardless, it had the makings of a new hotspot in Chiss space—which meant the Eclipse Consortium would want, no need, to be a part of its operation.

With [member="Remi"] in yet another Chiss guise on his arm, the Crime Lord of the Eclipse Consortium entered the VIP event. Dressed in a dark suit, the owner of Interstellar Shipping gave a chorus of nods and a small smile to those he was familiar with.

But there were others here he had to make sure he met. Some of the personalities on Sposia at this VIP event also had their eye on Sposia for their own illegitimate interests. For Remi and Malicar, their goal was fairly simple – find those underworld personalities who would yield to Eclipse Consortium and find the ones who would not and “convince” them otherwise…

Objective 1 - Tour of the new medical facilities
Sabosen R & D Laboratory
The new medical research and development facility House Sabosen had built separate from Rizin'ci Medical Center in Sposia's capital city of Ch'avz was state of the art, and had high end security measures as well. Which was a good thing after the Chief Medical Officer was read-in on a threat CEID was chasing down regarding possible espionage of the kolto beds located in the tropical regions of the Great Sea of Sposia. She did not have all the particulars as some details were above her pay grade, though Brask'ari'sabosen knew her father was monitoring the situation closely and the Syndic's own Household Phalanx was on standby in case they were needed to assist the CEDF's Special Forces or take action themselves.

Distractions... Today was filled with them. It was hard for Brask'ari'sabosen to concentrate on her work in the laboratory at hand, but discipline helped her to compartmentalize. There was nothing she could do about the perceived threat. It was out of her hands, but the Chiss doctor could put on a confident and gracious face when the VIPs arrived for a tour of the facility. Now when and who it was, she did not know. It could be anyone arriving at any time.

Until being notified of such, Brask'ari'sabosen would continue to methodically review her late mother's unfinished research project that had come to her attention after finding an unmarked data disc left in the back of a flimsiplast cook book of all things. The elder Sabosen doctor had been working on a new medical substance for healing... Putting all the puzzle pieces together would now fall to her. And if successful, it could become a miracle drug and revolutionize treating illnesses that were thought to be 100% fatal with no known cure.

Objective II

Marina arrived to the nightclub in style. She was dropped off in a new airspeeder prototype and looking extra remarkable. Her arrival was met with many flashes of cameras and reporters questioning her. She gave the cameras a quick smile and ignored questions from reporters before heading into the nightclub. She flashed her VIP pass to the guard at the door. The guard moved out of her path and opened the door for Marina. As she walked in, Marina could instantly feel the vibe of the club flowing inside of her. Good music and plenty of patrons on the floor dancing their hearts out.

She could tell it was going to be a good night.

Marina noticed several other members of the Ascendancy inside and some offworlders as well. She made her way towards the VIP section and, with the assistance of a waitress, found her reserved table awaiting her. An iron bucket filled with ice and a bottle of Cerulea awaited her there. She took her seat and took hold of a champagne glass. The waitress pulled the Cerulea from the bucket and began pouring it into Marina's glass. The cobalt beverage bubbled with excitement as it was poured. Marina nodded to the waitress, thanking her for her service. The waitress returned the bottle to the bucket and walked away. Marina took a soft sip of her drink then looked out at the club, wondered by the amount of people there.

Sabosen R & D Laboratory

Some time had passed and Brask'ari'sabosen had moved from her office in the building to the high-level security laboratory. Time was money as they say and just sitting around waiting for people to show up for a tour was a waste of her talent and skills. Any ways, it probably was some stuffy bureaucratic types that were going to visit just to write up a report or political maneuvering in Parliament for funding purposes. She doubted they even cared about what was being done here in the name of healthcare advances... Well until they actually needed a miracle to happen for themselves.

The Sabosen shook herself from that line of thinking and wondered when she'd become so jaded. It was not the Chiss way to let subjective attitudes cloud her objective judgement. A heavy sigh was let out, then Brask'ari'sabosen gathered her research materials from the locked cabinet and placed them atop the lab table. The CMO sat down, then prepared a slide to be examined under the high powered microscope, but before doing so she turned on some classical music to help keep her focused on the task at hand.

After a moment, the results were jotted down on her datapad, then another slide was prepared and the process was repeated methodically over and over. It was easy for the doctor once in the groove to lose herself in her work. Wishful thoughts of him would not even enter into the equation today...

As it stood though, Brask'ari'sabosen had come to believe that ship had already sailed. Mitth'orn'eruod was not a man to entertain things of fancy over duty, which was understandable being in the position he was in. It was silly of her to think or even hope he'd ever be interested in anything more than just being acquaintances despite the Sabosen daughter's high level of achievement within her respective field, similar fitness goals with the Mitth son, compatible interests, and familial kinship distant as it was. I mean she was a good match on many accounts for most men... He wasn't most though.

The open invitation from House Sabosen for the now head of the Mitth family to visit Sposia had been extended, but not accepted as of yet. Soon her father would have to give real consideration to the offers the Syndic had received from other families such as Csapla and Nuruondo for Brask'ari'sabosen's hand in marriage. It was the way of the traditional Chiss to arrange marriages for a variety of reasons other than affairs of the heart. Mitth'oru'sabosen did not want to place his daughter into a merely functional marriage just for the sake of status and power. No, Mitth'oru'sabosen wanted Brask'ari'sabosen to feel complete as he had with her late mother.

The elder Sabosen did not want to see the young woman's inner spirit that made Ari vibrant in warm colors to even the naked eye be stifled. He had seen too many Chiss around him in his time become cold and disconcerted with what it meant to really live life to its fullest potential. Course, the former Chief Justice was more idealistic in that one regard than pragmatic. He firmly believed behind every great man there was an even greater woman. Brask'eri'sabosen had certainly been the wind beneath his wings. Like mother, like daughter, it was not hard to pick up on that fact.

Objective 2- Nightclub
[member="Malicar"] | [member="Marina"]

Hess'iva'nuruodo checked her appearance in the compact mirror one last time before the hover taxi pulled up in front of the nightclub. She was definitely letting her hair down tonight both literally and figuratively.

The Wing Commander had not partaken in the shore leave offered on Sharb when the military had been granted R & R after the Ilum and Noris campaigns respectively. She had opted to stay on duty to allow others the chance to relax. It wasn't like the ace Clawcraft pilot really had a life outside the cockpit any ways. The Nuruodo had always been driven to succeed and be the best in her field. It was also in the shadow child's blood to do so. The apple didn't fall far from the tree as the human saying went.

Upon entering the newly renovated nightclub in the heart of Ch'avz, Hess'iva'nuruodo made her way to the bar. She was dressed for the occasion. The little black number would certainly turn a head or two as not many got to see her without being in a flight suit or uniform. The Commander was off the clock and intended to enjoy herself, well as much as she could... House Nuruodo was still reeling from the events that went down at the Masquerade Ball. Who knew what would come of it. Rumors were flying, but Iva was not one to base her opinions or actions on just innuendo and gossip. She preferred hard cold truth.

The Chiss slipped onto a bar stool and placed her clutch purse onto the counter, then flashed a smile at the bartender. "I will have a dirty martini, stirred with two olives please," she stated, then slipped off the leather jacket worn over the sleeveless black dress, letting it rest on the stool back while crossing over a booted leg.

Hopefully the evening out would prove to be worth the effort to mingle. Hess'iva'nuruodo really did need to interact more with others in the Chiss Ascendancy other than just those in House Nuruodo. As it was, she didn't do much of that either.

"Fascinating," Talin muttered to himself, squinting through the microscope's lens, "Truly fascinating."

Sabosen's facilities were certainly state of the art, he had never seen a more conducive environment for since outside of his own homeworld, Csaus. He could not help but wonder if there was perhaps some military application to their so called revolutionary new invention. Could it be engineered to suit the CEDF's purposes? To suit his own? It was a worthy line of inquiry, and one he vowed to follow up on. He could feel the chorus inside him growing restless, a potential bioweapon that broke down their food source was of little interest to Gorog.

"I am certain Brask'ari'sabosen will be gratified to have a representative from the Chiss Science Reserve evaluate her findings."

"She is the Ascendancy's chief medical officer for a reason," he raised an eyebrow at his escort, the House Sabosen servant had doubtlessly been instructed to lavish him with compliments, "I imagine she will find me nothing more than a mild annoyance."

"Not so! Ankhet'al'inrokini..." the servant trailed off, pursing his lips in confusion, "Forgive me, should I address you by rank?"

"Technically I hold a brevet rank of lieutenant commander," the scientist admitted, "But its mostly ceremonial. Ankhet'al'inrokini is fine."

"Just so," the commoner nodded, smiling.

Talin felt a ghostly urge to rip out the man's throat with his teeth. All this politicking had the dark nest within him feeling restless.

Objective 2 - Night Club
[member="Sivan"] | [member="Marina"] | [member="Malicar"]

Sposia, a jewel of the Ascendancy, the seat of the House Sabosen. It warmed Bella to return to the planet, a world which had offered such pleasant memories in her youngest days. Days past, but never forgotten.

The Commodore had arrived on world a night prior, her shuttle conveying the scion of House Vhirr onward to the capital city of Ch’avz and had arrived upon the landing pad of the city’s most exclusive hotel complex. She had rested, bathed and taken advantage of the lavish facilities throughout the daylight hours, attending appointments with several of the planets most promising designers and artists, before retiring once more to her suite and preparing herself from the night to come. She had selected an off-shoulder cocktail dress for the evenings amusements, crafted in ivory fabric that brought out the dark blue blush of her complexion, her hair slicked back to appear almost black.

Bella was already fashionably late by the time the luxury aircar touched down outside the venue of that evening’s gathering. As her driver for the evening came around to open the door Bella scanned the gathered crowd through tinted windows, fixing a neutral expression to her features that might better suit a catwalk than club night; House Vhirr had an image to uphold.

She stepped out from the transport, hearing the thump of bass notes escaping from within the nightclub for the first time - her thoughts immediately shifting to excitement as she imagined the night that might lay ahead.

Naturally tall, her statuesque frame was only augmented by the heels she had chosen; Vhirr’bel’laminis paid no heed to any of the photographers or their entreaties as she straightened and retrieved her VIP pass; For tonight, at least, the Commodore’s rank and responsibilities were secondary but nevertheless she had no interest in giving the paparazzi what they might want.

Only once she had strode elegantly past the waiting doorperson and felt the wave of sound wash over her did Bella smile to herself, breathing in as she closed her eyes for a brief moment to savour the atmosphere. She cut a path directly to the VIP area; taking a glass of something fizzy and fruity from a passing waiter as she moved. Her deep crimson eyes scanned the crowds for familiar faces as Bella drifted, shoulders moving in time to the music and taking a sip of the honey-sweet drink she had seized.

A satisfied grin grew upon the CMO's lips as she pulled back from the lens of her microscope. Brask'ari'sabosen was making progress finally in search of the missing piece of the puzzle to the miracle drug. There was still much research to be done, but things were on the right path. Her hunch from reading Brask'eri'sabosen's notes had paid off.

Oh Mother... How I wish you were here with me working on this together.

A voice brought the Sabosen out of her reverie. "Excuse me, Chief Brask'ari'sabosen... There is a representative from House Inrokini's Science Division here for the tour. He is in the main lab."

"Thank you. I will be there in a moment," Ari nodded curtly to the lab assistant, then she began gathering the highly sensitive research up to place in the locked cabinet that needed her security code as well as her iris and thumb print to open.

It took only a few minutes before Brask'ari'sabosen entered the main laboratory where a male Chiss was standing near a lab table. The Doctor was wearing a crisp white lab coat over her attire.

"Hello. I am Chief Medical Officer Brask'ari'sabosen. Thank you for coming. I hope you find our facilities to your liking so far," she greeted [member="Talin"] with a professional smile.

Hess'iva'nuruodo took a sip of the dirty martini presented to her by the bartender. It was very much to her liking with just the right about of gin, vermouth, and olive brine. At least the nightclub was using decent spirits and not the cheap stuff. That would bode well for its tenure. Also, the choice of DJ'd music, mood lightening, and decor in general added to the alluring atmosphere.

Crimson eyes caught the entrance of a female Chiss. There was no mistaking who it was. The recently promoted Commodore had a certain way about her that drew much attention. Vhirr'bel'laminis was the epitome of high style and grace. The white cocktail dress flowed over the young woman's feminine physique as if she was floating on air across the floor. That was not Iva's style, but it definitely worked for her.

Another sip of the mixed drink was taken to finish it off, then the olives were slipped off the cocktail pick with her teeth and chewed subtly. Hess'iva'nuruodo put the empty martini glass down on the napkin atop the bar counter, then ordered another. While waiting for the next one, the techno music made her booted foot begin to bounce to the heady beat. It made the Nuruodo want to dance real bad and forget every thing else. Well, at least for a night.

As more and more people entered the nightclub, the space was growing thin. Marina was lucky to get herself her own table courtesy of the club owner. She was grateful for that. She sat there, gently grooving to the beat of the music and enjoying the sights of people having a good time at the grand opening. It reminded her of her teen years of partying almost every night then sleeping during the day.

It wasn't a healthy lifestyle, but it was fun.

She changed from all that thanks to her mentor, Davin. He steered her onto the right path. If only he could see her now. She thinks he would be proud, but he'd never say it out loud. There was always room for improvement in his eyes. Always. Wherever he was, she could feel him watching over her every move.

It's what has gotten her this far.

"Ankhet'al'inrokini, Chiss Science Reserve," Talin smiled a warmth-less smile, eager to make a good first impression for none of the right reasons, "It is both a privilege and my solemn duty."

He genuflected appropriately. They were both members of a ruling house, but Brask'ari'sabosen was the prodigal daughter of Sabosen. One day she would ascend to the very heights of the Aristocracy, while Talin was cursed to forever be the second son of a second son. At least with the nest there was no hierarchy, there was only us versus them. He saw other Chiss less and less as his own people with each passing day. To live among his own kind, knowing they were little more than foreign invaders, and say nothing. Truly, it was the performance of a lifetime.

"I believe you would put even the grandest hospitals on Csaus to shame. It pains my heart, but when it comes to the science of medicine House Inrokini will forever whither in Sabosen's shadow."

Subconsciously, Talin straightened the lapel on his crisp uniform. It was cut in the same style as the CEDF, but a unique shading and Science Reserve insignias marked him as distinguished from the typical Chiss military officer.

"Would that I were here in the spirit of purely scientific inquiry," he opined, expertly mimicking a genuine frown, "As a representative of the Defense Force, I am particularly interested in how Sposia's facilities can benefit the Aristocracy's efforts to better secure our borders."

And your weaknesses, Talin thought but did not say, let us not forget those.

Ch'avz; Sposia.
Sabosen R&D Laboratory.
Objective 1: Tour of the new medical facilities.
Mitth'orn'eruod didn't like to be late. It wasn't an ideal state to be in, when a previous engagement had been planned. Still, in some rare circumstances, being behind schedule couldn't be helped, and in this instance the Admiral hoped any insult would be minimal. Sadly when the Defense Hierarchy called, there was little in the way of excuses or reasons not to answer and listen to whatever information they sought to provide. As a case in point, Mitth'orn'eruod had been contacted and advised of a new element that was threatening a nearby system, which would require a response within several days time. An important task, certainly, though one had to wonder why a holo-message wouldn't have been sufficient...

Yet, it is not my place to question the Hierarchy, The Admiral thought to himself, as he rounded several corners and walked through long corridors. Nonetheless, the situation at the Redoubt cannot be ignored, especially considering it is our fallback location should the worst occur to the Ascendancy.

Before long, Mitth'orn'eruod was nearing the location he had been advised about. He entered the area and immediately saw familiar individuals. As always, Brask'ari'sabosen looked appropriately pleasant, even surrounded by the laboratories and technicians in their stark sterile features, and while wearing a white lab coat. Another individual, whom Mitth'orn'eruod was familiar with, stood nearby speaking to the representative of Sabosen.

"I apologize for my tardiness, Chief Medical Officer Brask'ari'sabosen and Ankhet'al'inrokini," The Admiral said as he neared the pair, waiting for a moment in conversation to speak up. "I was held up momentarily by the Defense Hierarchy. I hope I have not missed too much... it is good to see you both. I trust things have been well?"

With a nod toward the other individual present, Ankhet'al'inrokini, Mitth'orn'eruod then looked back to Brask'ari'sabosen and offered a small smile...

Perhaps it was the labortory's lighting, but there was something odd about the Ironkini's eyes that caught Brask'ari'sabosen's briefest attention. His crimson orbs didn't seem to glow hardly and the hue was particularly cool in nature as well almost darker than normal too. Strange, but then again Ari's tended to glow quite brightly and with a warm tone making them inviting to look upon or so her father said. Like mother, like daughter.

"Like wise, Ankhet'al'inrokini," she replied with a respectful cant of her dark head to the Reserve Science Officer. "You are very kind in your assessment. We Sabosen's do strive to be the best at our calling as I am sure your family does as well."

Brask'ari'sabosen was just about to answer the question put forth to her by Ankhet'al'inrokini when a familiar form came into view in the doorway of the lab. She was filled with measured internal joy at seeing the admiral stroll over to where they were standing in his crisply worn naval uniform. It was always good to see Mitth'orn'eruod whether on the bridge of his flagship or in a setting such as this. Their time together on Sharb, brief as it was, and subsequent meetings had made a lingering impression upon the doctor; one of pleasant means... Though that was neither here nor there in this moment as duty before pleasure, always.

"A fair inquiry... And my response, Ankhet'al'inrokini, would be a healthy populace makes for a strong Ascendancy, which therefore facilitates keeping our borders secure. That is what the goal of this facility is," she said with a curt nod, then her crimson eyes flicked over to the new arrival as he joined them.

"Apology accepted, Admiral Mitth'orn'eruod, though your timing was well-managed nonetheless. I was just about to give a tour to Reserve Science Officer Ankhet'al'inrokini so you have not missed anything too important as of yet," Ari stated, then added returning the small smile.

"I am well, thank you..... Now if you gentleman will follow me into the next area, I will explain the kolto refining process," she offered, motioning with her hand to a door on her right.

Objective 2 - Night Club
[member="Sivan"] | [member="Marina"] | [member="Malicar"]

The atmosphere of the new club was invigorating; Great beats, a pleasing aesthetic and a lively churn of attractive Chiss. The experience fulfilled a specific craving Bella felt, one that was rarely satisfied by her career. The all too brief escape from her duty was a chance to find relief and to relax. Perhaps even to forget.

Many of the more famous or notable faces in the room were familiar to her at a glance. As her crimson gaze settled upon Dachi'marina'kuhn, Bella recognised the much-publicized features of the recently appointed Director for the Ministry of Public Affairs almost instantly. A rising star, it seemed.

Ostensibly, the Ministry of Public Affairs was focused on the promotion of Chiss culture, art and other creative outlets - a goal which in itself was closely aligned with the goals and actions of her own House. House Vhirr was known throughout the Ascendancy, not least due to their longheld traditions of sponsoring or commissioning artists,
musicians and designers in the creation of works meant to exalt and celebrate all of Chiss culture.

It was safe to say that from what evidence she had seen so far, Vhirr’bel’laminis approved Marina in general - despite the noted isolationist leanings the Commodore’s House leadership.

She had started to approach the Director when a chance look - perhaps just a feeling of eyes upon her - brought Bella’s attention around to a darkly dressed Chiss sat at the bar, sipping a drink from a martini glass. The woman was familiar to her, though a name never arrived at Bella’s lips as it had with Marina. Something in her bearing called out to evidence of military service to Bella, a familiar focus and poise she recognised in herself that was missing from most civilians.

The other Chiss had been looking toward Bella when she had come to the Commodores attention, and after a moments inspection of the woman’s eye-catching black dress and those exquisite boots to match, Bella chose to return the woman's passing attention with a brief, pointed smile, parting gazes with a coy wink before returning to her course to face meet with Marina. She would find her way to that one again before the night was out.

______

“Director Dachi’marina’kuhn,” Bella greeted the public servant with a polite smile and offered Marina her hand as she made her approach, raising her voice a fraction to be heard over the music, “If I might introduce myself, my name Vhirr’bel’laminis. I was most keen to finally make your acquaintance, would you welcome some company for a time?”

It was possible, of course, that Marina would not have recognised the scion of House Vhirr by sight, but a formal introduction was hardly very possible in such a setting anyway.

She raised her glass toward the Director with a conspiratorial grin, “If you would don’t have other plans, of course. We needn’t sit.”

Bella half turned to regard the dance-floor as she awaited Marina’s reply, her gaze drifting back to the woman at the bar again for a mere instant.

Sabosen R&D Laboratory
Ch'avz, Sposia
Objective 1

"Of course," he nodded at Karisa, just a glint of predation in the smirk that splayed across his lips.

It had been an innocuous enough question, but enough to give him an impression on the Chief Medical Officer's ethical limitations. Anything that could save so many lives also had the potential to be corrupted into an instrument of death. Talin was very interested to see what new marvels House Sabosen had perfected, not only so he could evaluate any potential threat to the nest but also to use the Ascendancy's advanced technology as a weapon against them.

"Admiral Mitth'orn'eruod," Talin inclined his head, offering a casual Chiss salute, "For my part, no apology is necessary. I know too well the nightmare of Defense Hierarchy bureaucracy."

Thorne's arrival was an unpleasant surprise. He had expected the admiral's arranged delay to last for several more hours. Now he would be forced to play the role of the good little soldier. That is, until he noticed just a flicker of expression between the two. He raised his eyebrow, considering the possible implications and how it might be used to his benefit. It was an open secret that House Mitth had been courting an alliance with Sposia, what better way to seal that pact than a familial union?

"By all means, after you," he genuflected to Thorne, senior both in rank and bloodline, "I suspect some of our interests in Sabosen's wonders may align."

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Objective II
A man with sand colored skin and a charming smile locked eyes with Marina from afar. Marina gave him a smile back to show she was the friendly type. He flagged down the bartender and spoke to him. In a few minutes, the bartender returned with two drinks for the man. One being for Marina, she presumed. As the man began his approach, Marina hid her smile from him to not seem too eager. The man was halfway to his destination when another Chiss stepped up to her which caused him to avert his path back to the bar.

Marina's gazed traced the Chiss who walked and introduced herself to Marina. "Ah, yes. I've heard your family's name before. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. Please do join me. I've grown tired of enjoying the night from this booth on my own. It would be an honor to have you join me."

Marina moved over slightly to allow the newcomer to have as much room as she needed. "And, please, call me Marina."
