Operation Weedkiller...is a GO!

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
there was indeed a reactor malfunction at Belkadan. With the information of what was going on now public, all reactors at remaining Subach locations in Fel, CIS, or other threatened space - that being Charros IV - were being overloaded and detonated by personnel. There was nothing left. Isley and his group of people with nothing but raw hatred had pulled off the biggest corporate dismantlement in galactic history. Many had died as a result of this operation, primarily in Fel space, though some had been shot in CIS space in the panic. Those could justifiably be counted as acceptable losses - but not what happened in Fel space.

In her office, Myra raised the gun to her head, tears dripping down the sides of her face as she slowly pressed the tip of its barrel against her temple. "All I've ever worked for... Gone, because of the tyranny of a government."

If no one intervened, in exactly ten seconds, she would be killing herself.

It came as an immense surprise that the facilities spontaneously detonated; such a surprise that the Mandalorian barely evaded decimation in the resulting explosion. As the Cin Bes'uliik bore him to safety, a notification from Sigma Squad manifested itself on his HUD. Apparently the team had intercepted a transfer of files whilst infiltrating the Subach-Innes databanks and had relayed the findings to the whole of the Confederacy. Of course, the most important of this information was the destination of the file transfer, which was in the midst of the space formerly owned by the Sith Empire. With the destruction of the facilities confirmed across the Confederate and Imperium spaces, Isley then began taking reports from the various theatres about all that had happened.

Now up-to-date on the events, he opened a transmission to @[member="Serenity"] and relayed the coordinates and contents of the data transfer. "Republic Forces, this is Colonel Verd of the CIS Military. I just transferred some intercepted data to you now, in addition to a field report on all that's happened on our end. You've got some SI ships headed into Republic space; in addition, we have the end coordinates to a rather large dump of files sent from Myra Subach's own desk before frying the system. It is our suspicion that whomever is at the end of the end of these coordinates could very well be the true thorn in the backside of the Galaxy. As such, we are sending forces to the coordinates at this very moment and welcome you to join in the pursuit, over." With that said, Isley relayed the information once more to the forces of the Fel Imperium as well.

"Alright boys, lick your scrapes. Job's finished. Pursuit force, head to the coordinates. @[member="Strask Ak'lya"], @[member="Marek Starchaser"], wrap up your respective operations. I want to see slag where Subach-Innes used to be. The rest of you, excellent work. Score One for the Confederacy."

Boone

1st Recon: "The last thing they'll never see"
The Sergeant suddenly glared down at Private Boone and shouted before a bolt melted his brain. Boone watched in horror as the Sergeant's mouth seemed to continue moving despite the injury.

"Sir?"

Why would the Sergeant call him sir? He was only a Private.

"SIR!"
-------------

Captain Raul Boone snapped awake in the middle of one of his Corporal's attempts to wake him. A blaster had found it's way into his hand and was instinctively leveled at the jr. NCO.

"Frak! What!" Boone shouted louder than he meant, calling back to the times when he instructed fresh recruits. He lowered the pistol and rubbed his temple.

The slightly shaken Corporal replied a bit hesitantly "It's command sir. We've got a target."

The thoughts of the nightmare and nearly all hints of tiredness flushed out of Boone's body as a touch of adrenaline hit his veins. Thoughts of a hunt always brought excitement.

"Who?"

"Some plant lady and any of her associates. Kill order type deal." The Corporal replied while offering the now awakened Boone a Datapad.

The Captain grinned as he glanced over the images.

"Wake the wolves. I want everyone prepped within the hour."

A smile followed by a yes sir were the only replies before the younger man exited the tent.

Time to get the killing boots on.

Corey's OOC

And where were the spiders
Watching the battle, Marek was staring at the planet. He saw the destuction of the Subach-Innes facility on Charros IV. His droids were entering the atmosphere and spreading out to find any fleeing vessels or personnel from the facility. Other units were going in to secure Haor Chall and Xi Char interests. “Officer, make sure our facilities are safe. Ready my shuttle. Once the smoke clears I will be taking a tour to make sure we’re solid.”

With a situation like that, it was clear that Marek and the Xi Char were going to need to make some more units. Perhaps a droid unit, droid soldiers. He was going to have to figure this out. A form of vanguards for even the Dread Guard. He was going to have to work on this. Marek was watching the maps. The explosions did happen. That was completely out of whack. No defense? “Send a report to Verd’s ship as well, let him know the situation here.”

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
The coordinates where the transmission was received from was empty space. Any ship that had been there would have been long gone by the time the CIS ships arrived. There was very little to be found there to indicate who or what had received the information. The properties of an Aleph were not to be underestimated, though Circe still had yet to fix the cloak on the ship.

-

Several hours after the massacre, the damaged Subach ships, running low on fuel and supplies, as many were either heavily damaged or so new they had not been properly fitted, arrived in Republic space. They immediately sent out an emergency distress signal to any nearby Republic ships. Any Pub vessel that spotted them would immediately recognize them as corporate ships - they were broadcasting neutral IFF codes, indicating their not having been sold to a galactic power yet. The freighters were of course emitting Subach codes, being company property. Soon the escape pods from the captured freighters entered the area as well, a Corusca-II bringing them into its hangar bay and allowing the crew to rest peacefully for a moment.

It was all up to the Pubs now.

The Republic like the CIS used the Xr-12 Frontier Stations, which happened to intercept any and all Subach-Innes ships. All suspected employee's of the corporation were to be questioned and detained. The alert went out on a priority alert to each and every republic patrol ship. IFF's were scanned and tracked down. Any one not found guilty of any crimes or recruited for various reasons were let go. A message went back to the CIS.

" We are detaining any and all ships from the Subach corporation. Please keep us apprised of the situation and we shall respond appropriately. "

XV-265

Guest
Out of the burned facility emerged a dark figure. It had burn marks all over it and seemed to be badly damaged. It seemed to have lost its right arm and a big chunk of its left arm. It's leg were only two small metal bars held together by some wires and its torso was littered with holes. Its head seemed to be mostly intact but it sprayed sparks every now and then while making electronic buzzing sounds whenever that happened. It looked like it had been beaten up pretty badly and it was a miracle that it hadn't been vaporized by the explosion. It turned out to be a droid, XV in particular. The droid was completely ruined. He had lost almost all of his components, only his cognitive functions remained and he had no way of defending himself anymore. If he was to be rebuilt he would most likely want to be improved drastically. He wanted to become more powerful than he had ever been and then he wanted to have his revenge on whoever did this to him ... to him and to his squads. Those squads had been his best men and women. They were the elite. They were the best Tatooine had to offer and now they were gone. That infuriated XV and he would kill whoever did this. His eyes had a different glare. They had an impossible glare in his eyes. An impossible glare of anger in his emotionless robotic eyes.

As the base exploded, the squad watched from their hiding place, minus Strask and Crem, and began to pack up their things. As they did, Knol received a message from Strask. "All clear. Let's go." And they did. Opening a channel to @[member="Isley Verd"], he said. "They toasted it. Ar'krai squad heading for the coordinates now." The team climbed into their ships, blasted off, and slipped off into the sunset.

HYPORI SYSTEM, HYPORI
NEW E'Y-AKH, SUBACH-INNES FACTORY

Chief Engineer Heddik Val'kuz looked at his datapad and read over the orders he had been given once again. Apparently something from the very tip-top of SI's chain of command. Heddik was a loyal employee of Subach. He got paid good money for good work. He enjoyed his job as much as he could. He liked the people he worked with, he liked the city he lived in. Things had gotten a lot better for New E'y-Akh now that it was under the thumb of that new Viceroy. A lot less strikes, riots, and whatnot. Crime was down, employment was up. Life was good for this Nikto.

He read the orders a third time, trying to digest the fact that he had just been ordered to overload a reactor and cause an explosion. An explosion that would level this facility, kill everyone in side, and probably take out a few city blocks while it happened. Hundreds would die, maybe more. There was no telling what would happen. Heddik did like his job and felt no ill-will towards his employers, but this... This was a bit extreme. He had no idea what was going on to prompt this order. It seemed rather senseless.

"I'm not going to do that." Heddik said out loud, raising his gaze from the datapad and looking at the rest of the engineers around him. They, of course, hadn't gotten the order.

"Do what, boss?"

"Nothing. Go home early today."

"But our shift just started."

"Yeah, don't worry about it."

Heddik yanked off his hardhat and tossed it aside along with the datapad before leaving. The fact that hundreds of innocent people, Heddik's coworkers included, could have been killed if he had just done what had been asked of him without thinking, was starting to sink in. Heddik began mentally planning out the rest of his week, which would include an entire bottle of Corellian whiskey, quality time with his family, and searching for a new job.

Maybe not in that order.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
The facility on Hypori, now abandoned to all the workers exactly like the other factories, had already been evacuated of all personnel. When the foreman left - as the destruction of the factory stated beforehand had apparently not happened here, despite evidence to the contrary - a droid moved towards the reactor. Soon, it too would be overloaded, as the building vaporized. Again, with zero casualties involved. Aside from some panicked Subach personnel who had been gunned down by the CIS while running away in panic, that is.

-

In orbit, the men and women began to grow angry. Here they were, having just escaped death at the hands of murderous commerce raiders and Fel naval forces, and how did the Republic treat them? As common criminals. One of them spoke directly to @[member="Serenity"].

"Ma'am... I'm going to ask you nicely to provide us with the aid we need. We just watched several thousand of our fellow employees get murdered in cold blood by the Fel Imperium. Detaining us when we've just survived a war crime is condoning what they did... Please don't."

"We were just attacked by ships that likely were hired by the CIS to attack our convoy! We almost died as a result."

"My children... God, I hope they're safe."

-

Myra continued to finger the blaster. There was one last option. An option that she was loathe to do, but which she knew would be the only way for anyone to know about this. As such, she pulled out her datapad - the one item of hers that had not self-immolated - and began a connection to the main CIS communications hub. Only one thing remained, and that was to inform the people of the CIS of what elements of their government had done.

Serenity was not there, she had nothing directly to do with this entire incident. So the pleas fell on the men and woman tasked with the job. " We mean nothing by it, we are just doing what we are told, if anyone needs medical attention please speak now, you will be a priority for processing where we will see to your needs. " That was all the republic had to say as they began to process the many men and woman. It was just procedure for refugee's. They needed to know what happened.

HYPORI SYSTEM, HYPORI
NEW E'Y-AKH, FACTORY DISTRICT

Heddik saw the droid moving maliciously for the reactor on his way out. In a moment of intense heroism, he bludgeoned it with a spanner until it was inoperable. He proceeded to lock the doors to the reactor, informed the control room staff of Myra Subach's apparent psychopathic homicidal tendencies. The control room staff then proceeded to shut down all droids in the facility, stabilize the reactor, and sever the place from outside influence. A total evacuation of the facility was called. New E'y-Akh law enforcement were subsequently contacted and appraised of the situation.

Emergency personnel flooded the area, evacuating nearby factories and residencies in danger of being obliterated by an overheating reactor. It's also worth noting that no Subach personnel were "gunned down" by Confederate forces. Such instances were likely imagined as a result of a resurgent victimization complex.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Considering that the facility had already been destroyed by the droid's overloading the reactor, causing its detonation - not overheating - the factory having NOT been near a destroyed location, and also having been entirely emptied of all personnel, as had been stated previously, there was no danger of casualties or sudden losses. The factories were gone. Vaporized. Destroyed. There was no data, no information, no tooling, no dies, nothing at all left of the locations.

Considering that some Subach personnel, heavily disturbed and traumatized by armed personnel from the CIS coming to destroy their factories, it was relatively obvious that they would be scared and running away. Despite their having been shot, this did not necessarily mean that all who had been shot were dead, not did it mean that the shots themselves had been set to kill on whatever weapons were utilized to shoot them. Such claims of things occurring at the Charros IV were, of course, contradictory to previously established canon set by the prior goings-on of the operation's timeline. Such forms of ignorance with regards to prior actions would not allow for any slip-throughs.

HYPORI SYSTEM, HYPORI
NEW E'Y-AKH, FACTORY DISTRICT

Myra Subach did not at all need to worry about blueprints being stolen from her factory on Hypori, which had failed to detonate thanks to the heroic actions of Subach personnel who did not want to cause wanton destruction to the city surrounding their factory- or themselves. Reactor explosions, typically in factories, are catastrophic events that would result in hundreds of casualties and hundreds of thousands of credits in property damage. They would never escape in time. Further, overloading reactors often took a great deal of time. More than enough for a stalwart control room team to stop the process before hundreds of innocent civilians perished in a fiery death. Maybe Myra was of the psychopathic, selfish, and single-minded persuasion, but any reasonable citizen of Hypori wasn't. Definitely not Heddik and his colleagues.

They were well-aware they were not the only people in the world, and that preserving Myra's pride was not worth causing an explosion in a densely populated city. Not by a long shot.

She did not need to worry about her blueprints being stolen. Subach's technology would not be stolen, but rather, forgotten.
