A set of armor that is made to protect those within the Knights Obsidian Order, and also proclaim the first official declaration of retiring the name of Templars and to attempt to rid their name of the past instances under the Sith Verd. As well as update gear to be more proactive for those within the KOO.
The majority of the armor is made from High grade Armorweave to protect the wearer from blaster bolts. However, the armorweave is not known to have the ability to defend against major attacks, or direct blaster fire. It can withstand up to two direct shots from a blaster bolt, but once a third shot is added to the same general area, the armorweave would be melted through and harm the target. It can also withstand a handful of glancing shots, bust as said before, if all the shots made are in the same general area, then the armor weave will break down. This armorweave is used for the main covers of clothing, as well s the cloak and hood which can be removed per the wearers decision.
To keep the use of Cortosis or Phrik within the Knights, Once reaching the Knight rank, They will be allowed to have armorweave gloves fashioned by taking cortosis or Phrik dust impregnated within the Armorweave to provide lightsaber protection. However, as this is an armorweave and not straight plate armor, The gloves can be cut through after a max of three hits, or 5 glancing hits. Reducing the constant use of relying on the properties of Cortosis to short out a lightsaber. As well as flame resistant cloth in the armorweave to prevent the burning of the material from a lightsaber blade.
The plate armor that is worn on the rest of the body is that of Armorplast. Providing reliable protection against blasters and slugthrowers. The main parts are on the shoulders, Chest and back, shins, outer thighs, groin, and an optional mask or helm. These areas of armor are made with cloth over the top to hide the rather reflective matieral as well as being covered in a black tint should the armor be used on more stealth like missions, or in a darkened area to provide aid to hiding or sneaking. While the Chest and helmet are allowed to be out in the open, and give off the effect of Knight armor of old.
The mask or helm can be made for those who choose to wear one. Depending on the wearers desire, they can choose either a helmet if they are more oriented for battles, a Mask for some protection of the face while also not wearing a full scale helmet, or not wear one at all should they choose to do so. The Helmet is made out of armorplast and surrounds the entire head in a smooth dome. The mask is made with the face plate and temple plates. Temple plates are a section of armor on the side of the head that covers just at the wearers hairline, down to their jawline on the side of their head to protect their temples as well as keep the bands that keep the mask to their face from being out in the open and have a chance of being cut.
Belts can range from the chest as a bandoleer, a Utility belt on the hip, or even thigh belts for holding blaster pistols, ammo, or any other smaller items for the more Military oriented Knights. The healers and Researchers of the Knights are given a utility belt to fit their needs with more space and room than a normal belt to hold artifacts, meds, herbs, or datapads/holocrons. The CZ-830 Templar Utility Belt can still be worn with the Knights armor as there were no wrongfully purposed applications done with the belt, as well that it will take time to replace all the items under the Templar's list of objects.
