STRENGTHS
  • Well-Rounded DefenseWhile its original incarnation was crafted with stealth capabilities in mind, the Phase II Strike Armour is devoted to withstanding common, battlefield threats. As the wars of recent history demonstrated, survivability is a far greater asset during large-scale operations. Thus, the second generation features dedicated defenses against radiation via its lead-polymer substrate and acid/corrosion via its enamel-coated armor plates. This is on top of a robust resilience against blasters!
[*]Versatility
  • In addition to increasing the armour's innate effectiveness against battlefield threats, the Phase II features new technologies from a number of Techno Union partners. From the means to incapacitate Ysalamir, to a personal molecular shield, to exceptional medical resources - an Obsidian Knight now has even more tools to address a wide variety of scenarios.
[*]Breach
  • While the steath capabilities of the original incarnation were largely discarded, the Phase II does retain some of the Phase I's breaching capabilities. In particular, a field security disruptor and scomp link were included to afford capable Knights with the tools required to break into enemy systems. Additionally, the utility belt features built a built-in hologram projector which can be utilize for quick disguise.

WEAKNESSES
  • Electromagnetic WarfareAs a sort adorned with the cutting edge of defensive technologies, the second generation of Strike Armour suffers from vulnerability to Electromagnetic Pulses, Ion Weaponry, or focused, Electrical assaults. While the degree of vulnerability varies from asset to asset, overall each piece of technology installed upon the Phase II can be shut down or nullified by these varieties of weaponry.
[*]Sonic
  • The design philosophy behind the Strike Armour's second generation was staring down common, battlefield threats. As a result, while the armour does boast an impressive number of resistances, a glaring pitfall are the exotic Sonic-type weaponry. The Phase II does not have any dedicated defenses against this variety of assault, thereby leaving its organic wearers effectively vulnerable.
[*]Fuel Cell
  • While the wrist-mounted, flame projector is a versatile tool for dealing with sentient and non-sentient opponents alike, it does pose a potential threat to the wearer. A keen adversary (or lucky shot) can impact the projector, running the risk of exploding the fuel cell within. Injuries can range from excessive burns to completely blowing off one's limb.
[*]Lightsabres
  • While crafting the second generation of Strike Armour, the decision was made not to incorporate any dedicated forms of defense against lightsabres. The thought was that, as a sect trained in the usage of the Force and beyond, the average Knight may be able to fend off another duelist adversary. In light of this, the armor's plating can withstand minor, glancing blows from lightsabres - but not a hair's breath more.

DESCRIPTION

In the beginning, Corruption was the greatest adversary.

At the time of the Great Galactic War, the Knights Obsidian had been focused upon their most domestic task. As symbols of justice within the Southern Systems, shining a light upon corruption in all forms was of the utmost importance. Thus, their greatest symbol - their armor - became a reflection of that task. However. Following the Great Galactic War, the Confederacy entered into a series of additional conflicts throughout the stars. The Jen'ari Empire. The Mandalorian Empire. Even the New Republic. All posed a threat to the peace of the Southern Systems, and thus the Knighthood took up arms.

During this turbulent era, rooting out corruption domestically became a secondary task. Yet the Knighthood's badge of office was better suited for operations within the shadows of home than the hellish battlefields of afar. These were ill-suited for the ordnance the enemy rained down upon them - and thus, a change in philosophy was needed. Moreover, as the torch of leadership was passed from one to another, the next generation of Obsidian leadership had numerous reforms in mind.

Thus, the Obsidian-type Strike Armour, Phase II was devised.

In addition to addressing those terrifying realities of the battlefield, one of the most striking reforms was regarding the helm. No longer would the Knights Obsidian remain faceless to the people they served - but rather, they would show the people that there was indeed humanity behind the Obsidian path. That those who were tasked with their protection did so - not as the blades of the state - but as their fellow brothers and sisters of the Southern Systems. With innovation and trust in mind, the Phase II is poised to aide the Knighthood with every aspect of their duties.
