The
Greh'ova Assault Ship thundered through the atmosphere of Bescane, cutting a fiery path toward the besieged capital city below. Its shields flared against relentless anti-aircraft fire, glowing bright as plasma rounds hammered the hull. From its massive bays, the assault ship unleashed a storm of
LAET/I MKII gunships and
LAET/C transports, their engines screaming as they swooped down like birds of prey. Smoke trails and fiery wreckage filled the skies, a chaotic overture to the battle ahead.
Inside his LAET/I, Laphisto stood near the open door, his broad saber hanging loosely in his hand. The wind roared past as the gunship banked sharply, dodging incoming fire. Around him, Lilaste Order troopers sat in tense silence, their helmets reflecting the flickering red light of the cabin. The air was thick with the weight of what lay ahead—a grinding fight through the city's defenses, street by blood-soaked street.
"
Brace yourselves!" the pilot's voice crackled over the comms. "
We're coming in hot—AA's heavier than expected!"
The gunship rocked violently, shrapnel pinging off its Dral Kayatr plating. Laphisto tightened his grip on the overhead rail, his gaze fixed on the chaos outside. Beneath them, Bescane's capital burned, the narrow streets choked with rubble and alive with the flash of enemy fire. The faint shimmer of the city's shield was visible even from this height, a mocking reminder of the mission's stakes.
"
Commander," Laphisto called over his shoulder to the pilot, his voice calm despite the chaos.
"Get us to the ground. We'll take care of the rest."
The LAET/I dove low, its wing-mounted LO-34L cannons opening up with relentless volleys. Explosions rippled through the streets below as enemy barricades crumbled under the assault. Around them, other gunships made their runs—some laying down suppressive fire, others already disgorging
AT-AE MKII walkers. The massive machines hit the ground hard, their legs absorbing the impact with mechanical ease. The walkers' cannons turned, unleashing thunderous firepower that lit up the battlefield, forcing defenders to scatter.
Laphisto turned to his troops, his voice cutting through the noise. "
You know the drill. We hit the ground running, stay tight, and push through. Watch your corners, cover the walkers, and don't stop until we've reached the generators. Let's give them something to remember."
As he finished, a gunship above them took a direct hit, its shields flickering out in a final gasp before the hull erupted into flames. The wreckage spiraled out of control, slamming into a building in a fiery explosion that sent debris raining down. Laphisto barely flinched, his focus already back on the mission.
The LAET/I jerked hard as it dropped into the designated landing zone—a debris-strewn courtyard lit by the staccato flashes of blaster fire. The side doors slid open with a hiss, revealing a scene of utter chaos. Enemy troops fired from makeshift barricades, while droids scuttled across the rubble, their weapons tracking the incoming gunships.
"
Go, go, go!" the gunner barked, the door-mounted LO-27R turrets blazing away at enemy positions. Laphisto leapt down first, landing in the thick of the fight. His
Broad Saber ignited, its blue blade flaring to life as he deflected a volley of incoming shots. Around him, his troops poured out, moving with precision to secure the area.
The gunship lifted off almost immediately, its shields sparking as it climbed back into the sky. Over the comms, the pilot's voice was tense. "
We're taking too much heat—pulling back to range. Good luck down there."
Above, the Greh'ova Assault Ship began its retreat, its massive engines glowing as it climbed away from the relentless barrage. Explosions erupted around it, shrapnel lighting up its shields as it disappeared into the haze of battle.
On the ground, Laphisto wasted no time. "Cover the walkers! Push forward!" he shouted, his voice cutting through the chaos. His troops fanned out, their blasters blazing as they advanced. The walkers stomped forward, their heavy cannons tearing through enemy fortifications. Overhead, the remaining gunships continued their strafing runs, laying down suppressive fire even as some were clipped by AA emplacements and forced to retreat.
The streets were alive with fire and fury. Explosions echoed off the buildings, sending clouds of dust and ash billowing into the air. The rhythmic pounding of the walkers' steps matched the relentless cadence of blaster fire, a grim symphony underscoring the fight.
Laphisto surged forward, his broad saber carving a path through enemy lines. He moved with purpose, deflecting shots and striking down droids with fluid precision. Around him, his troops pressed on, step by hard-fought step, their determination unwavering despite the chaos.
"
Let's move!" Laphisto called, his voice carrying over the battlefield . "
We've got a shield to bring down!"
As the Lilaste Order forces pushed deeper into the city, Laphisto got onto the Diarchy comlink, broadcasting his location and pinging his IFF tags to the other troops of the Diarchy so they wouldnt mistake him for enemies "
lilaste forces are planet side, we are here to assist your forces."
with a flash of teal laphisto began to see the world through the force pulling at the world around him and searching for the force signatures around him. Unbeknownst to him also broadcasting his force signature for all to see or feel.
