Like any self-respecting arms and armament provider, the N&Z Umbrella Corporation knew they also needed a simple, basic type of blaster pistol which could effectively be sold in alarmingly great quantities. A sort of bottom line to their product catalogue when it came to handheld ranged weapons. With this in mind, the engineers at EnSol were tasked to design a blaster pistol which would follow at least a set of four points that weren't negotiable: The weapon had to be light, it had to be compact enough to be able to be tucked away in an anckle holster, it had to have the capacity to reach at least ten shots with a standard issue power cell and lastly, it needed to have little to no recoil for it to be suitable to both the professional and the amateur user.
With these points in mind, the engineers at EnSol set out on this task, eventually coming up with the blaster pistol presented above. the NZ/BP-25 LBP-Silex is exactly what had been requested by the sales department of the corporation: a small, light, rather simple, yet elegant desgned blaster pistol without the bells and whistles generally associated with the company's much more expensive and complicated types of weapons.
With a low recoil, a compact, light design and the capacity to fire off up to fifteen shots with a standard power cell, the Silex is a capable, albeit somewhat limited little blaster pistol, perfect as a secondary weapon for security guards, a consealed self-defense weapon for the amateur users and a functional reserve weapon for law enforcement or military personel.
