Name: Novo Luss

Classification: Sekellian Colony, Military Base

Location: Gehenna

Affiliation: Galactic Republic, First Order

Population: ~250,000 and rapidly rising.

Demographics: 90% Human (Mostly Sekellians), 5% Near Humans (Includes some Croa), 5% Non-Humans (Mostly Graug)

Defenses:

Protection begins with that from the hellish environment of Gehenna itself. The whole area of the colony is shrouded by a series of osmotic fields used to filter out containiments and regulate local atmospheric conditions to make the area habitable. All structures are built to be resistant to tectonic activity, including features like anti-concussive field generators and density projectors.

Security of the colony is handled by a mixture of local security forces, and military units from the Galactic Republic and First Order, the most common being Strafbattalion Marines, wardroids, and Graug Thralls. The bases of the security forces are dispersed throughout the colony as precincts, while the military units are mostly concentrated in a single modular garrison positioned near the center of New Luss. Bioscanners are located across the settlement for quick detection of deadly pathogens to help prevent mass outbreaks.

Dedicated fixed air defenses consist of a Defenstar 500 planetary shield, V-150 ion cannon, a trio of Tranquility sensor jammers, 16 RAX-1 repulsor missile launchers, and several batteries of quad lasers, ion cannons, and Vespa 40mm Auto-Rippers. All these systems are managed by a Subutai tactical analysis system, housed in the local modular garrison, to ensure a rapid comprehensive response to aerial threats. Cyber systems, in turn, are protected by a combination of socket guards, code cylinders, and Mithril security software. Military communication systems are wired into the Huginn biocomm network to prevent the loss of communication with the outside world.

Points of Interest:

Description:

Novo Luss is a large colony established in a crater on the volcanic world of Gehenna. Its primary function is housing refugee Sekallians who had been left homeless after being forced to evacuate their home system after being subject to terrorization for years by the current ruling regime and incursions by foreign powers with grievances against said regime. The colony serves a secondary function as a processing site for raw materials mined across the planet, and as a secret production site of sithspawn/biots for military applications. It is also the main staging area for GR and FO forces currently engaged upon a pacification campaign of the native population of hostile cultists and pirates who had proven to be a constant scourge to the galaxy at large.

History:

After being granted dominion over territories of the Gehenna sector, the newly appointed Moff Teigra was quick to begin the process of taming the hellish worlds of the Red Nebula and Gehenna as part of a greater development project of the region, the aim being to create the most productive sector in all of First Order. In the case of Gehenna specifically, she would begin a swift but brutal campaign to bring the native populace in line, beginning with the destruction of pirate sanctuaries in a series of targeted orbital bombardment. Units of Hellblazers, Sicarrii and Graug - purposely chosen for their ability to match the ruthlessness and savagery of the Bando Gora - would be used in mop up ground operations to kill or capture all remaining opposition, to go through deprogramming and reconditioning in the latter case. The campaign was mostly a success, but a few pockets of scattered resistance remained across the planet, and key members of the Bando Gora leadership have either fled or hidden away to evade execution.

About the time that the campaign was wrapping up, the First Order would begin to find itself flooded by a diaspora of refugees from the Rusya system, desperate to escape the grip of despotic rulers who had seemed to bring them nothing but misery over the past decade. With grand plans for terraforming the surface of Gehenna with Kiribian shaper tech, she invited the bulk of these refugees to settle upon Gehenna with the promise of fortune and security. Some senior Sekallians remembered Suravi's efforts in pushing to bring reforms to the beleaguered planet as it became a protectorate of the Old Republic, so they would lead their people to Gehenna to become its latest inhabitants and help bring about a transformation of Gehenna to create a new home for themselves.

Used to the wastelands of Sekalus, a global nexus of Dark Side energies, most Sekellians felt right at home on Gehenna, something of a Dark Side hub itself, and weren't too bothered by the remaining Bando Gora. Many of whom would be slaughtered, tortured, or even sometimes converted to the Sekellians' own brand of Dark Side teachings when they dared to attack the colonists. In short time, the settlement would flourish into a lively community of ethnic Sith and other Dark Siders. Social stratification and violence were still a fact of life for the Sekellians, but to a much lesser extent as they now had a collective purpose on building up themselves on Gehenna, to never again become victims to outsiders. In some strange way, the ruinous effect of the defunct Covenant upon their original home planet had sparked a sense of unity never seen before in Sekellian society.

As the colony grew, it would become the primary site for all planetary operations for processing of precious stones and minerals by means of Sith alchemy and esoteric techniques previously developed by the Bando Gora. Kiribians loyal to Suravi would also share their expertise in the marriage of technology and the occult to raise the efficiency of Sekallians alchemical methods for the modern era. Long term plans include the establishment of advanced manufacturing facilities for the production of high-grade exotic alloys for starship production and general construction. Gehenna has the potential to match the output of other mining/industrial worlds like Mustafar.

In secret, Sekellians and Kiribians under the guidance of Suravi pursue black projects for the development of bioweapons and countermeasures to hostile Force Users for use by both the Galactic Republic and the First Order. Information extracted from captured Bando Gora, coupled with knowledge shared by ethnic Sith Sekallians, have been a great boon to said projects.

Intent: The original Sekallians - ethnic Sith and Darksiders - have always interested me, and I'd like to provide a new space to expand upon their lore, while also fleshing out Gehenna.

Sorry for the delay, my Saturday was stolen from me by IRL obligations, but I am here now.

This is a very nice and detailed Location, but I still have some points I'd like to mainly inquire about.

First off,

Are you sure that there are no points of interest? Maybe you could detail one of the zones dedicated to terraforming, or maybe describe a structure that holds some importance to the people around the city.

Also,

This is already around five times the population of Gehenna and I would like some more rationale behind this.

Nothing particular at this time.

The original population was made up of scavengers and pirates who were using abandoned facilities and just scrapping by. This colony is a modern large-scale public venture backed by the GR and the FO looking to develop the sector.
