- City Name: Novatria
- Classification: Urban Centre
- Location: Verkuyl
- Affiliation: First Order
- Demographics: 93% humans, 5% near-humans, 2% assorted other aliens
- Wealth: Medium. Created by the First Order from all but nothing, the city is highly productive and earns more than its keep, but has not yet had the time to amortise its construction costs.
- Stability: High. With its educated populace united by a shared vision of progress and prosperity, the city is a very safe place. In those areas that contain facilities of regional and national importance, security is nonetheless quite tight. The frequently encountered patrols by planetary defence forces are therefore not considered an ominous sign by citizens.
- Description: Novatria is located at the influx of a river, the Stream of Consciousness, into Memory Lake, whose names appear to have been some sort of a joke on the part of a land survey team, but ended up enduring. Avoiding both the inhuman excesses of the core's high-rising metropolises of glass and steel and the timid submission to nature of places like Naboo, the city is built as a testament to the greatness of human civilisation. Its architectural style is often severe, but does not shy at ornamentation, and a strict height limitation is imposed on all construction, which is surpassed only by six prestigious buildings. Together with wide streets, often lined with orderly rows of trees, this gives the city an atmosphere of vastness. At the same time, minimum density requirements were instated to limit sprawl, and single-family houses and private gardens are rarely to be found within the city's confines.
Verkuyl Polytechnical University: Verkuyl Polytechnical University, colloquially known as VerPol, was established as a technological university to educate young minds in the service of civilisation. It covers a range of areas from architecture and civil engineering through logistics, computer science, and the applied natural sciences. Despite the institution's young age, it compares with the best in the galaxy in the chemical, material, and biomedical sciences.

Comet's Cross Administrative Building: This structure houses part of the highly centralised administration, and is named after the square it overlooks. It contains those agencies which are concerned with economic and civil matters, such as building regulators, the tax division, and the board of education.

Novatria General Hospital: A magnificent structure that is sure to inspire confidence in the First Order's civilisational competence and the skills of its medical specialists.

Bacta Building: These are the headquarters of Verkuylian BactaCo, which was nationalised by the First Order upon its acquisition of Verkuyl. It is responsible for a significant part of the nation's supply and one of the largest employers on Verkuyla.

Verkuyl Planetary Capitol: This is the second major administrative building on Verkuyl, containing, among others, such agencies as are concerned with local and planetary security. Near the very top of the construction is located the office of the governor herself, overlooking the river and lake.

Black Hole Laboratories: Located on the outskirts of the city, this science hub hosts offices and laboratories in which government-mandated, frequently secret research is conducted in the national interest.

HISTORY
Verkuyl had always been a remote planet where only workers, engineers and scientists went, often temporarily, to make money in the biomedical industry that catered to the rest of the galaxy. This changed upon the acquisition of the planet by the First Order who, as with their capital Dosuun, set out to turn the planet into a civilisational centre in its own right. Large swathes of the jungle that covered much of Verkuyl were cleared where a river flowed into a lake, and a new, planned city was put in place around it. Begun under her predecessor, Novatria came to bloom under the auspices of the Honorable [member="Miriamel Arleen"], Governor of Verkuyl, and is still quickly growing further.
